Enough embarassments against them. It's time to slam them down.
This game will be televised live on BTN Plus, for those who have the web-based subscription.

Eh, if we're going to lose at hockey, I'd rather it be against them in an exhibition than say, Ferris. It's kinda fun seeing the high school kids so into it while Michigan and Red know it doesn't matter much.

Can we actually beat them for once?
October 6th, 2014 at 7:15 PM ^
Hockey cheerleaders now?
Looks like the Michigan figure skating team is here with pom poms. Wonder if this will happen every game.

3-1 Michigan Compher goal

Who grabbed the first two for Blue?

This is a bit better. That first goal felt way too much like the FSU (NTFSU) game from Saturday, but this time the team bounced back even faster. Three first period goals is quality, and the NTDP is no joke, esp. this early in the season when they've been practicing & playing together much longer than Michigan has. Keep playing like this for two more periods, and I'll be very encouraged.

Nicholas Boka and Brendan Warren are the two UM commits on the team right now.

Larkin (most notably) and Werenski were on the team last year, and Motte, Compher, Copp and Allen all played for the NTDP as well.

it's probably OK to omit the (NTM) qualifier when mantioning the Red Hawks or whatever they are...not likely "Tha U" is going to ice a competitive college hockey team anytime soon.

4-3 now. Should probably put Racine in.
October 6th, 2014 at 8:52 PM ^
4-3, which way?

Is there a new arena announcer? I'm listening on the radio and whoever I heard in the background sounds different.

5-3 Michigan after 2. Offense looks national champion caliber, but the defense is lacking a bit in these first two games.

Not watching, but following along on Twitter...has Racine played the whole game? Are these goals his fault, or soft defense? I thought Nagelvoort was going to win the starting job heading into the year...

Zach played Saturday night. He's the starter. Red tends to let the backup play the third in these exhibitions. Sometimes he'll throw a walk on in there and last year or the year before it cost us the game.
October 6th, 2014 at 10:47 PM ^
Last year he put in Luke Dwyer in the third period of the NDTP exhibition. We had a safe lead that wasn't so safe. It was a bad omen of the bad things that were to come.
October 6th, 2014 at 10:56 PM ^
Yeah, I was sitting right behind the net, you could tell he had the yips pretty bad. Pretty much what lost them the game (again, NBD it's an exhibition, glad the guy got to play).
October 6th, 2014 at 9:36 PM ^
Is the score 7-4 M?
Edit: Pulled up the Twitter feed. Yes, yes it is. Gotta shore up the 'D' a bit, but the offense sounds lethal.

Giving up 4 to USNTDPWIY is not as good. Has the D been shaky? Anyone want to analyze what's going on?

Should've been 7-2, really. First goal was another breakaway in the opening minutes. What's encouraging was how Michigan responded, putting in 3 before the end of the 1st.
Then Red put in Racine who played his first minutes in that period where Michigan gave up the 4th.
I'm genuinely excited about this season. The energy looked great out there for an exhibition game.
October 6th, 2014 at 10:12 PM ^
Good win. Gave up another early goal but fought back and pounded their way to a 3-1 lead at intermission. This was a MUST WIN exhibition.
Michigan was on a 3 game exhibition game losing streak coming into this win, two of them coming to the NTDP.
LOL of the game goes to Dave Brandon. What a chode. Everything is fair game to have sponsors as long as it isn't inside Michigan Stadium's bowl. I noticed on the broadcast (video was the Yost scoreboard w/radio call dub) that every power play was sponsored by Toyota ON THE SCOREBOARD. Every time Al Randall read off the remaining schedule, it was sponsored by Meijer.
When they played a commercial break game at Yost, it was "name that famous dave presented by Famous Dave's", the students started chanting Fire Dave!
It's crazy Werenski just turned 17. He should be in his first year on NTDP. Larkin with the two goals tonight, Piazza with an assist. This team looks pretty damn good and they sat out Copp just to rest him up after he got banged up at FSU.
So far I'm loving BTN Plus. Was worth every penny. The broadcast doesn't stutter or have to buffer AT ALL unlike that awfully put together MGoBlueTV from last year. HD video quality, too.
Next up for Michigan is another exhibition on Thursday night. Wilfred Laurier, a Canadian school.
Is Wilfred Laurier any good you ask? They're 2-1-0 this year against their Canadian conference opponents. Last year they were horrific going 11-19-4 and their only game against an NCAA school coming against Bowling Green in a 7-1 loss.

Kid is also one of the only players on the U18 team who is still uncommitted. I don't know if Michigan is recruiting him, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are.
