Mitch McGary Vice Sports Interview
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b71DT7b7NQ4
Interesting little video of Mitch talking about his situation. I'm so glad he landed on such a well-run organization and hopefully he can make some noise! I think we're all excited to see him fulfill his potential.

Anyway, I like Mitch and I'll be rooting for him - just a weird interview.

mirrors the way things work in most societies--the guy at the bottom goes to prison for stealing a candybar while the people and institutions that organize the serious extraction of wealth from your pocket, well, they run the show. The organization never WAS going to be able to police itself real well. . .

Oh hi David Simon.

Wouldn't exactly call the Thunder well run at this point. They are too cheap for that be considered true.

Moves them to OKC, and then... is cheap because team is in OKC?

God's plan was for him to smoke a blunt, test postitive, get suspended and then get drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. God truly does work in mysterious and stoned ways.

Doesn't seem all that myserious: Smoke and get paid.

Like I said, I don't know what his beliefs are right now, but through the injury and then suspension, he thought more about that stuff.

But you seem to be inferring an awful lot.

he knows him from his high school days, which is what I am inferring from his statement.

Not a big deal, but McGary's agent needs to give him a couple PR lessons. I realize McGary is justifiably bitter about his suspension, but "just don't get caught" is not a very smart thing to say in an interview. If McGary was LeBron, ESPN would probably devote 80% of their coverage over the next 48 hours to what was really just a dumb harmless joke.
