Ohio RB LJ Scott to MSU
Sam Webb tweeted some article on Scout ($) that said something like "Weber and Harris a package deal?"
Don't know, didn't read it since it was paywalled and I dropped my Scout sub. But if that's true......I don't like Michigan's chances.
I think Sam is engaging in a little speculation... I can't see Weber and Harris ending up at the same school. These package deals rarely happen, especially for kids playing the same position.
It'll be Weber to UM and Harris to OSU. Based on the bits of videos I've seen of both RBs, Weber is a tough little guy but Harris is on another level.
Anybody know why we didn't offer Scott?
You have many good comments but I'm not so sure Harris is on another level as Weber. I think Weber has him in lateral-jukes, quicks and toughness. Harris has him in top end speed no doubt and vertical. Big deal. Nuss, Malzone and I want Weber for good reason.
It was not Sam. It was Josh, and it wasn't speculation as much as a bad title. Josh asked the question about playing at the same school. Weber said they hadn't talked about it, but it'd be a good 1-2 punch for the school if they both went.
Very much nothing to see here.
It was pure clickbait. I hate the media, in almost every form.
Nice title DD ( . ) ( . )
THIS THREAD TITLE IS GOOD! *
*but I was again worried about Malzone decommitting when I saw who wrote the title of the OP.

I'd certainly take the first to commit, but needs and commits at other positions would make it hard to take two more RBs unless there's more attrition. I would want both if there was room.
drunk too?
Michigan showing mad love right now man #GoBlue

Mikey Webber comeon down.
LOVE ALWAYS,
BRADY
I would take both Weber and Harris together on top of Isaac.
That sounds a bit kinky
Spit my bud light clamato out some because of you. That's whole lotta chelada.
Most likely scenario now is this pushes Weber to UM. Harris we are still in the running for but the tea leaves seem to read OSU.
Scott is a very nice pickup for MSU - that's the 4th ranked RB in the nation. Yhey have generally not recruited top end guys on their offense outside of a few like Burbridge and that TE who went pro a few years ago too early but those were Michigan kids. They are starting to make some serious inroads in PA and this would be one big get out of OH. Urbz can't be too happy about it but I am sure this will increase his focus even more on Harris.
Interesting, some of the Buckeye fans think they are going to get both Harris and Weber. I thought Weber was more of a MSU v UM thing.
I think it is more of an MSU-UM thing, although it sounds like Weber has been leaning a lot more UM's way lately. At least that's what the people who follow the Twitter machine closely have been saying.
No idea how much truth there is to this, but there have been lots of rumors flying around about how Harris wants to be the only RB in his class at whatever school he picks. So that would certainly go against them thinking they'll land both. Should be interesting to see what those two end up doing.
MSU has a boatload of young RB's - and now they added Scott. If the depth chart means anything I would think UM has more of an opening if the relationship continues to "rebound". While we do have Isaac who probably is a 98% chance of being a 2015 there is no 2014 RB. MSU has 2 in 2014 by comparison. That said Dantonio is infamous for taking offensive players and turning them into defensive ones if they are the best athletes so I am just going off their HS position.
There is also a second lower kid out of OH MSU is hot and heavy on who seems 90% sure to go to MSU but they are in the balancing act of waiting to see if Weber commits versus going after plan B who would almost surely.
Michigan's depth chart, when Weber would step on campus, will (most likely) read:
Junior: Green, Smith, Johnson
Sophomore: Isaac and Douglas
That's 5 RB's with no seniors. Granted, Michigan will probably only be taking one RB in this class whereas MSU seems to be taking two and MSU has several other RB's on it's roster too, so the numbers look relatively even. I would just hesitate to say that this development is what puts us over the top in winning the recruiting battle for Weber. It will most certainly help and might help lessen MSU's focus on Weber, but how Michigan continues to rebuild its relationship with Weber will be more important.
Just for reference, MSU will have 3-5 RBs on the roster in 2015, not including Scott/whoever else commits.
Graduating - Hill, Langford
SR - None
JR - Tompkins, Williams (Could get moved to LB/Safety)
SO - Holmes
RS Frosh - Owens (Could get moved to FB or DE), London.
That looks pretty thin to me, especially considering Tompkins has made little noise so far in his career, and Williams and Owens are very likely to get moved to defense. Although, players buried in the defensive depth chart get moved to offense and vice versa every year (Langford was a CB for 2 years).
You left out the small matter of Larry Scott the #4 RB in the country in his same class.
As for Ross Douglas for UM - until I see him in any role that is above #3 in the rotation I don't think any recruit is worried about a converted defensive player. No offense to Ross Douglas of course.
Again at MSU half those guys could be defensive backs or LBs by the time it is said and done - I have no idea.
I am of the belief the OL is 70% of the battle, and the RB does the rest so I am relatively indifferent. Frankly I'd rather get an elite (any other position) than a 2nd RB in this class. [I consider Isaac to be a 2015 recruit] If there is no elite player interested at us, then going after 1 of these makes sense.
p.s. I am not saying anything puts us over the top. All things being equal seeing the #4 RB go into one of the schools you are interested in and the other school recruiting the #1 RB furiously helps us if Weber is who everyone wants.
Functionally, I think Isaac is a 2014 recruit at this point if he gets the RS. Nonetheless, probably means we are only taking 1 RB in this class, which is fine.
I almost clicked on that link; thankfully I didn't. The 11W forum is a cesspool of thought nearing, but not reaching, the level of the RCMB.
Having Ty Isaac in the fold, getting Harris or Weber would just be icing on the cake. IMO the coaches should focus more on the 16' class of RB right now.
Damn auto correct. I changed it three times. I guess I could have hit the check mark to say OSU was ok but that would be wrong.
predicitions for Weber have goe to Michigan. Those five predicitions were all made yesterday and include two from Ohio State writers. The fifth was a national recruiter predicting Ohio State. I like the trend and that two OSU writers are saying Michigan.
LJ Scott #⃣3⃣ @LJ_Scott3
MSU committ!!! Happy with my decision really don't care what ppl think this about me!! Time to grind!
Do you think that is an ominous post or something? Think all he is saying is that he is not all that concerned about the people who think he should go to OSU being an Ohio kid.
The not going to OH is surely the primary thing, but I think he'll get flack for it being MSU and not UM. As much as they hate it when their guys go to "tsun" most understand and respect it. I think a top kid going to MSU must feel like, "WTF?" to many.
I'm sure he's referring to flack from the OH faithful...I do think that flack will take multiple colors. The most dominant will be simply, "why not OH?"
That tweet shows he's a perfect fit for MSU.
