Leaked audio of DeBoer's farewell speech to UW players

Audio from Kalen DeBoer's farewell speech to his Washington team was leaked and posted on YouTube.

It gives us a glimpse into how these things play out behind closed doors. You feel for the Washington players. (On a related note, last night I saw a fun movie about the 1936 University of Washington rowing team, The Boys in the Boat, which reminded me that we need more coverage of rowing at MGoBlog.)

Santa Ono needs to get Harbaugh signed—sideline Warde if necessary—so our own players don't have to receive a similar speech this month.

I rowed and then coached out east after college. Absolutely love the sport. Hard sport to really get into because it's basically a slower track event in a straight line so you only get to watch 500m of it.

That being said, Michigan women's rowing has been on a tear. Won 3 of the last 4 Big Ten Championships and are basically in their own league with OSU. Just haven't been able to get that NC unfortunately. Kind of like baseball/softball, southern teams have a massive advantage.

I feel for the Washington players too.  Pretty riveting and interesting.  Personally think it was very classy of the UW players to applaud the end of his remarks.  Looking at Team 144 and UW suggests  me there are a lot of good and amazing young men playing college football.  Thanks for posting.

Coaches in a position to go to the NFL or move to a spot with more upside has earned those offers the hard way; there are no guarantees of success anywhere (hello RichRod and Scott Frost).

I wish them well on their journeys. People have the right to make choices based on how they see their lives going forward without criticism and carping. I feel the same way about the players.

Just reading the body language last night, I had a feeling that Harbaugh wasn't sure at that moment what he had planned. I hope he sees fit to stay.
