HAIL!

I caught it live, it was LOUD. That started off a good night knowing we had a huge part of the stadium on our side

I didn't love the rendition, but the HAIL was pretty sweet.

Agreed. Mid-level at best but amplified massively by the HAIL!

Agreed. 1) It was to slow, and 2) wasn't a combined marching band performance.

Heard the "HAIL" live during the song. That's not something I've noticed Michigan fans doing before - it's very well associated with the Baltimore Orioles yelling out "OH" during the anthem because the team is nicknamed the O's. Was glad to hear it though - I think it's a GREAT addition to the song and believe it should become a thing in the Big House, Crisler, and Yost.

I have definitely heard this at Yost, but the last time I was at LCA in Detroit I think there were only two people (myself and my wife) that did it.

I could not disagree more. Both the “O” and the “HAIL” are disrespectful. It’s the national anthem, not a team’s fight song. Sing the whole damn thing, or don’t sing it if that’s your thing. But don’t yell out a single word.

Man, you would hate going to any game, HS, Pro, or College within 100 miles of Arrowhead Stadium.

It's a damn song. Get over it.

I think it was this season? Maybe last? The student section started yelling “HAIL!” during the anthem. I love it. Certainly surprises people every time.

Nice!

THAT'S AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
No way that could have been coordinated before hand....I think!!!!!
Sounds like it will be a new CHEER at the home games, just like the GO BLUE!!! was added at the end of "CHAMPIONS OF THE WEST!!!!"

Nobody else was initially worried that the singer was decked out in all purple and the current star of the movie "The Color Purple"? I thought for sure that was a bad omen.

We've got a HS team with mascot "Braves" (it's an Alaskan Native-preference magnet school FWIW) and the end of the National Anthem ends with the crowd chiming in. Fun for big basketball games!
