Indiana at Michigan, Oct. 14: Noon ET, on Fox
First Fox Big Noon game of the year.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:15 PM ^
As far as I can tell, Indiana hasn't won in Ann Arbor since 1967. I think our chances are pretty good against them.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:54 PM ^
In 1967, Bump Elliot was the Michigan HC. Let's keep the Hoosiers near the bottom of the Big-10!
October 3rd, 2023 at 10:29 AM ^
That is amazing considering RichRod and Hoke were coaching a total of at least 6 years?
October 4th, 2023 at 8:25 AM ^
Well Rich Rod only played them at home in 2009. Hoke played them at home twice, both in 2013 and 2014. I'm surprised to see that we played them at our place in back-to-back years.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:16 PM ^
Indiana is probably just going to want to get that game over with quickly.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:30 PM ^
It wouldn't surprise me if - the Michigan / Indiana game was over before 3:00 pm. A lot of running - the new clock rules - etc. It'll just put a bit more emphasis on the post game tailgating.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:17 PM ^
FOX wants to broadcast that game because they know that the nation will be desperate to find out who will be IU's interim HC.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:29 PM ^
I wonder if Fox's Big Noon kickoff will "go west" for the Oregon v Washington matchup. It seems like that - and the USC at Notre Dame contests are the most visible / important games that weekend.

Maybe I'm preoccupied with US politics, but on first glance at the link, I thought is said Matt Gaetz Sports.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:31 PM ^
Is Matt Gaetz a dirty politician? - Absolutely
Would I listen to a Matt Gaetz sports show out of sheer curiosity? - Yes, I probably would.
October 2nd, 2023 at 4:43 PM ^
dirty, no
egomaniac, yes
October 2nd, 2023 at 6:09 PM ^
Bob Menendez checking in ....
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:26 PM ^
Respectfully, that doesn't accurately reflect all of the wonderful state of Indiana's football programs. What's missing? The Boilermakers of Purdue. And, it might be appropriate to include one other team's location - which would be the distance to the Columbus exit.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:47 PM ^
I know you're referring to Coumbus OH, but Columbus IN has some great mid-century modern architecture...if you're in to that sort of thing.
We stayed there when we went to the Michigan-Indiana game in Bloomington in 2017...when we were on the college tour circuit for 2023 UM Grad (my son).
IU campus is beautiful. Bloomington, however, doesn't hold a candle to Ann Arbor.
October 2nd, 2023 at 3:19 PM ^
‘89, I was referring to Columbus, Ohio - not Indiana - which you accurately point our gas some fine places and history. Bloomington is a great college town - not as dynamic as Ann Arbor - but, for what it is - it’s nice.
My daughter - who was a pretty good high school swimmer - attended a swim camp at Indiana a number of years ago, and loved it.
October 3rd, 2023 at 12:05 AM ^
Really nice campus.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:26 PM ^
So they’re not going to Colorado for the eighth week in a row is what you’re saying?
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:01 PM ^
If Taylor Swift went to a Colorado game the world would implode
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:26 PM ^
There is going to be a solar eclipse over the continental US that will end around noon. Do we consider sacrificing a goat at midfield before the game to protect the win streak?
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:31 PM ^
That will just be Kenneth Grant on his way to the QB. No further sacrifice needed.
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:04 PM ^
I was wrong- the eclipse will take place during the game. It ends at 2:45 EST. But you're correct, only a planet sized object like Kenneth Grant could alter the outcome in our favor.
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:41 PM ^
I assume this is just a partial one (the type we wouldn’t notice with the naked eye?). I thought the total one was happening in April
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:45 PM ^
We will get about about a 35% eclipse. Still seems noteworthy to me!

The TV chaos that is going on has left Fox with some less than desirable matchups for Big Noon.
October 2nd, 2023 at 4:04 PM ^
Fox is getting exactly what it wants...the top brands: Michigan, OSU, etc.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:31 PM ^
Big Noon Beatdown!
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:34 PM ^
I was hoping this would be a 3:30 pm start - however, it looks like we'll need to start the tailgate setup in the dark - with a 7:46 am sunrise, and a 6:54 pm sunset. The 14 day forecast predicts a sunny day - with a high of 62 degrees (very nice for this time of year) and an overnight low of 41 degrees - so, a bit cooler in the early morning.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:40 PM ^
I'm making my annual pilgrimage up from Raleigh for the IU game and those temps sound perfect. Much better than 23 degrees for the Illinois game last year.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:59 PM ^
Even under clear skies, there is only first light at 7:00AM. Let's hope the seasonal temps will hold up in 14 days and there is no rain. The weather models can undergo a lot of changes as the Oct 14th date gets closer. If we see this same forecast 6 or 7 days out, you can then book it.
October 2nd, 2023 at 3:21 PM ^
‘73 - the spot where I tailgate has light standards - so, we’ll be setting up just after 6:00 am, as usual.
October 3rd, 2023 at 2:52 PM ^
Agree - the 14th is way too far out to count on any weather forecast in Michigan. The color should really be nice though.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:35 PM ^
Anyone have 3 tickets they are willing to sell?
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:10 PM ^
Go to the IU board, guaranteed there will be plenty for sale.... cheap.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:35 PM ^
It really is remarkable how bad Indiana is. Watching their game vs. Akron, it looks like they are playing in slow motion. Should be a 42-0 snoozer with minimal effort.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:39 PM ^
Boooo. Hate noon games if I'm going. Give me some more time to tailgate!
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:12 PM ^
Tailgate afterwards
October 2nd, 2023 at 3:22 PM ^
Tailgate before… and after…
October 3rd, 2023 at 2:53 PM ^
Stay overnight and tailgate the next morning.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:41 PM ^
Only concern would be to get out of that game without injuries. Other than that, I will be looking forward to being relaxed after 12:20 and watch all the football I possibly can.
October 2nd, 2023 at 12:43 PM ^
Nice! I've got a dress rehearsal with the Flint Symphony at 2 that afternoon, but the rep means that I probably won't be playing till 3, so I'll be able to catch most of it I bet.
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:01 PM ^
YES!!!
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:03 PM ^
Hopefully, Jim will put the backups in early in the 3rd quarter. Noon kickoff games gets my thumbs up.
October 2nd, 2023 at 1:12 PM ^
Yesssssss! I can go to the game and still make mt 715 flight to Tampa!
October 2nd, 2023 at 2:09 PM ^
Good. Can’t wait to watch a 4 hour commercial block with just a tad bit of football somewhere in between.
October 2nd, 2023 at 3:24 PM ^
With Michigan’s ground game and new clock rules… the game will be over in less than 3 hours and 15 minutes unless Indiana throws incomplete passes throughout the afternoon…
October 2nd, 2023 at 2:30 PM ^
Will this be the year Tom Allen wins a game by being an intense psycho on the sideline? No.
October 2nd, 2023 at 4:08 PM ^
Tom Allen and Bill Lynch (he of the throw bubblegum after Donovan Warren's pick to beat IU). What a pair!
