Blake's Camaro stolen
January 24th, 2023 at 2:07 PM ^
Quite a gift for just graduating high school.
January 24th, 2023 at 2:25 PM ^
Seems like a fair reward for busting his ass and getting a full ride to Michigan
January 24th, 2023 at 2:25 PM ^
Blake saved them a few shekels on college tuition.
January 24th, 2023 at 2:38 PM ^
Actually, I know a few parents who similarly rewarded their kids - but not for "just graduating". As in, win this competition + graduate with a GPA north of + stay out of trouble, etc. Hey, it works quite well for some!
January 24th, 2023 at 3:42 PM ^
My parents would've gotten me a car if I decided to go to the in-state school. Instead, I went to Michigan out-of-state.
January 24th, 2023 at 4:36 PM ^
Car = increased tuition $, I'm assumimg? Hopefully, your UM degree has paid you dividends far exceeding the car!
January 24th, 2023 at 4:51 PM ^
I know a kid growing up who got a car because he didn’t date anyone before graduating. Really stupid parents imo.
January 24th, 2023 at 5:27 PM ^
Lol How big was this kid's right forearm?
January 24th, 2023 at 7:50 PM ^
Dude, they said don’t date, not don’t fondle fuck grope suck, etc.
January 24th, 2023 at 6:34 PM ^
My cousin got a brand new F150 Raptor (the OG one) when he graduated from Grand Valley... the main conditions were to graduate and get a job... he had a job with USG about 3 months after he graduated...
January 24th, 2023 at 3:57 PM ^
Every time I hear one of them speak, see their teeth, or watch their body language in interviews I'm reminded of how very middle and upper-middle class Michigan's football players are.
Observation, no judgement. There are several I most certainly would like date my theoretical daughter (based purely on their observed behavior).
January 24th, 2023 at 1:19 PM ^
Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that a**hole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:27 PM ^
What's more chickenshit than fucking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't fuck with another man's vehicle.
January 24th, 2023 at 4:07 PM ^
You got that right. I'd rather get kicked in the nut sack than someone fucking with my vehicles.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:19 PM ^
If I'm being honest, despite being a mid-40's dad, I find that car to be awesome. Really awesome customization.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:40 PM ^
got almost a decade on you, and i agree. bitchin' ride,,,,
January 24th, 2023 at 2:25 PM ^
You each have one and two decades on me, respectively, and I pretty much hate it, but I'm glad that he (+ ya'll) likes it and understand and respect that different people like different things.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:19 PM ^
If we change our unis to look like that, can our WRs then slip more easily into coverage seams? Might be worth a try, no?
Also, I'm loving that our NIL dollars buy Camaros and not Lambos. But? Blake, ma man, you really want AWD for Ann Arbor winters. Really!
January 24th, 2023 at 1:24 PM ^
They would be wide open but QBs wouldn't see them.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:25 PM ^
Bunch of savages in this town.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:49 PM ^
Blake wasn't even supposed to be here today
January 24th, 2023 at 2:02 PM ^
Rick Derris already has a black trans am so you can rule him out.
January 24th, 2023 at 2:34 PM ^
What's the mpg on that? 37? 37?!?
January 24th, 2023 at 7:22 PM ^
Somewhere between 45 - 23?
January 24th, 2023 at 1:26 PM ^
Bitchin' Camaro!
January 24th, 2023 at 1:27 PM ^
Should be pretty easy to find.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:29 PM ^
A quick google search says that stolen cars are recovered roughly 20% of the time, but if someone was bold/stupid enough to steal something like this then they also might be bold/ stupid enough to stay in SE Michigan. Hopefully this increases his chances of finding it - stolen cars are usually driven several states away to be sold.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:38 PM ^
Damn, that's crazy. I've had a car stolen once before, I guess I didn't realize how lucky I got. Police found it within 5 hours in my case.
It is a horrible, shitty feeling to walk out expecting your car to be where you left it and have it be gone, knowing it wasn't towed. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. I ended up selling that car not long after almost solely because of how violated I felt. I couldn't drive it anymore without feeling really weird about it.

I bought a truck about a month ago and was a little annoyed at one of the add-ons; they automatically put Lojack on every vehicle on the lot. Over the last 2 years between all their locations they’ve lost over $2 million in theft alone.
Still pissed me off a bit that they automatically tack on $900 for 3 years of LoJack without noting it on the sale price, but blew my mind nonetheless.
January 24th, 2023 at 2:42 PM ^
I figured modern tech would make it harder to steal cars. Maybe it made it easier.
January 24th, 2023 at 6:58 PM ^
Buy it from a used car lot?
Only asking because my Dad's buddy was the sales manager for a used car lot in a not so wholesome part of Detroit... every car they financed for a buyer got LoJacked so that as soon as 2 or 3 payments were missed they could have it repo'd... they also helped out the cops a few times when they were trying to track someone down...
January 24th, 2023 at 8:04 PM ^
New but they have a used department. They also have you transfer the Lojack account to yourself right in the office so I don’t think they’d be able to access it anyway. I paid cash so they sure as heck better not.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:34 PM ^
I've had my car stolen before. I eventually got it back many months later. Overall it was a funny experience, but at first I felt like such a victim.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:38 PM ^
three things:
1. most importantly, the article says surgery was 12/2 and that as of 1/9 he was still on crutches! that is a big deal.
2. the article says NIL money, but a couple of sentences later says its a 2017 that is parents bought him.
3. that's a very targeted theft, not random, not one bit. i am not familiar with the 2017 starting engineering (calling mgocarguys, jeepin ben, and other luminaries), but i would guess a screw driver won't do it. you need an electric 'multi-code' device to get the chips ready to fire up.

Last I knew the Camaro was the most stolen sports car not made by Stellantis (Chargers are #1) - because apparently Ford and GM have much stronger key re-programming delays than Stellantis vehicles.
January 24th, 2023 at 8:05 PM ^
...Or it could be that Stellantis offers 800HP that can outrun most small aircraft.
January 24th, 2023 at 4:47 PM ^
The Gen 6 Camaro (2016+) uses a key fob to start the car. I've heard that the key fob can be cloned but not sure how true that is. The more realistic option is they stole the key fob or found it and then the car.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:38 PM ^
hope he had an airtag stashed between the seat cushions
January 24th, 2023 at 1:38 PM ^
They stole Blake's car???
Damn. His dog better be OK, or else things are gonna get ugly.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:39 PM ^
How's he going to find a camoflaged car? How did the theives find it?
January 24th, 2023 at 1:41 PM ^
JJ & The Don are just playing a prank on him.... now the cops are involved, DAMN!
January 24th, 2023 at 1:45 PM ^
I wish my car got stolen. It is a 2002 rusted Cavalier with 263,000 miles on it.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:52 PM ^
You got 263K on a Cavalier? Fucking impressive.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:54 PM ^
Thanks. It is still going strong with the exception of a lot of rust.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:54 PM ^
gotta be on his 4th set of tie rod ends, 3rd set of control arms, 2nd rebuilt transmission ....
source? i had a cavalier once
January 24th, 2023 at 1:59 PM ^
Original Tranny! The only major things done by me were Radiator and Starter. Bought the car used in 2003 when it only had 19,000 miles.
January 24th, 2023 at 3:53 PM ^
My 88 Cavalier rusted like crazy and, as a bonus feature, eventually collected inches of rain water on the back floor. I solved the problem by punching holes in the floor with a three inch wood nail. Sweet memories.

It's the early attrition rate and the quickness to which GM cars get to people who don't take care of them that kill them at such a prodigious rate.
If a GM vehicle makes it past 100k, it's probably gonna last a long time.
January 24th, 2023 at 1:48 PM ^
There has to be a local car dealer that wants to step up and get their dealership a lot of publicity...
January 24th, 2023 at 1:51 PM ^
I blame Illinois.
First they take away his Heisman, now this . . .
