And then gave a INT right back to Rondale Moore
January 18th, 2022 at 6:43 AM ^
Nah. More like Rondale took that one back. Great play by Moore.

Just terrible QB play from Kyler Murray. He cannot handle the noise of that stadium or the pressure of the Rams' defense. He just threw another interception as I write this.
January 17th, 2022 at 9:40 PM ^
TBH I've never been very impressed with Kyler. He'll make an amazing play, then make 3 bonehead "WTF was he thinking??" type plays
January 17th, 2022 at 9:46 PM ^
Yeah, I haven't watched enough of him to say, but he definitely looks overwhelmed tonight. He's not getting much help from his o-line though.
January 17th, 2022 at 9:49 PM ^
Kyler is solid, but he has a little too much Brett Favre improv in him for my liking.
However, he’s in his first playoff game and without his best WR who just so happens to be the best WR in the NFL against a defense that’s loaded with game wreckers.
January 18th, 2022 at 1:36 PM ^
I thought Cooper Kupp was with the Rams?
January 17th, 2022 at 10:43 PM ^
Stafford had a horrible pick-6 earlier in the season against Tennessee just like that one. Trying to avoid a possible safety and just throw it away........right to a defender.
January 17th, 2022 at 9:40 PM ^
Matt Stafford might finally be getting his 1st playoff victory.
I’ll be happy for him.
January 17th, 2022 at 11:06 PM ^
Sorry I can't say the same for him. I completely understand that with the lie-downs he did not have often the best defense or the best coaching or the best whatever, but a good or very good quarterback will now and then do the proverbial strap the team on his back and will them to a victory. That was not Statts Padford, even when the management favored drafting offensive weapons for him.
January 17th, 2022 at 11:15 PM ^
He’s got to make the best decision for himself. The nfl is business and nobody likes to lose. He made the right decision.

Tied for third most game winning drives. Not the GOAT, but glad to see him get the chance with a good team that Barry and Calvin never had.
And look up the 2009 win over the Browns. Toughed out the last play.

He didn’t play well in the playoffs for the Lions but I’m not so sure that was going to make a difference.
I think he did carry the team for much of the years he was there. He was a leader and a warrior playing through injuries. Joe Montana would not be in the hall of fame if he played for the Lions. Steve Young was not great until he got to the 49s.
You need to be surrounded by talent but more importantly you need good coaching. It’s not a coincidence he just won his 1st playoff game.
He was probably the best Lions QB for most of my life going back to Greg Landry.

Stafford in the playoff except for Seattle game when he played with a broken finger:
Average stats: 28/43 for 352 yards with 2.5 TDs.
Lions defense on average: gave up 35 points with 471 yards allowed.
Stafford always performed well in the playoff and he continue to do so last night.
January 18th, 2022 at 1:28 PM ^
Overall stats were good but a feel like I remember a few money plays that could have but didn’t get made. But hey it’s been awhile.
I agree though the story is the team and the coaching.
January 18th, 2022 at 12:51 AM ^
Lol. This is the most Lions fan response.
January 18th, 2022 at 11:37 AM ^
I cannot even begin to count how many come from behind, game winning drives he engineered in his career. You're just flat wrong on the facts.
January 18th, 2022 at 12:45 PM ^
It’s “Stats”, not “Statts”.
January 18th, 2022 at 3:29 PM ^
C'mon. The Lions are possibly the worst organization in professional sports. Definitely one of the worst. Even if the Lions had Tom Brady they would find ways to lose.
January 17th, 2022 at 9:45 PM ^
Good to have a mobile QB. In the NFL a QB has to be able to win throwing or they wear thin quickly.
January 17th, 2022 at 9:56 PM ^
You forgot to squeeze the initials "JJ" somewhere into your post.
January 17th, 2022 at 11:49 PM ^
Lol RobF! That is SO true!
January 18th, 2022 at 2:20 AM ^
Good to have a mobile QB, like JJ...
January 18th, 2022 at 9:05 AM ^
I wouldn't exactly call Stafford a mobile QB. He's more of a game manager with an arm. :)
January 18th, 2022 at 9:43 AM ^
Yeah, would never want a guy like Tom Brady or Manning. That would be awful. No way you can win with them. Definitely need a guy like Michael Vick or Cam Newton. Easy super bowl wins with them.
January 18th, 2022 at 10:00 AM ^
I would argue that neither Vick nor Newton had teams as good as Brady's or Manning's.

Long down now in pain on the field.
January 17th, 2022 at 9:49 PM ^
He's back up. Looks like it was just leg cramps.
January 17th, 2022 at 9:59 PM ^
Long, shortest pick six in playoff history.
January 17th, 2022 at 10:20 PM ^
Was wondering this. Hard to get much shorter.
January 17th, 2022 at 10:02 PM ^
Brian sounds a lot like his dad. Just a bit higher pitched voice.
January 17th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
Just as good as well
January 18th, 2022 at 12:49 AM ^
Kudos to Stafford. Record setting playoff passer rating for the franchise. Would have rather seen AZ win though. Hope Long is ok.
January 18th, 2022 at 7:05 AM ^
Good for him.
January 18th, 2022 at 8:57 AM ^
David Long! I remember him in high school. Loved his film, looked great in the Army All American Game, was consistently good at Michigan and now making plays in the NFL. Love to see it!
January 18th, 2022 at 9:02 AM ^
WAY OT: This post about David Long’s “pick six” (among the shortest “pick six” returns I can recall seeing) now pushes threads about Michigan Men’s Basketball to the second page of the Board.
What a difference a year makes. Tonight’s game at 7:00 PM on ESPN2 between Michigan (7-7; 1-3 in Big Ten) and Maryland (9-8; 1-5 in Big Ten) gives Michigan a chance to pick up a win and get its season record above .500. A year ago at this time, preparing to play Maryland at Crisler on Tuesday, January 19, Michigan was 11-1. Michigan beat Maryland 87-63 a year ago this week. LINK
For those who'd missed the Michigan Men's Basketball highlights from last season's win at Crisler over Maryland.
