Hassan Haskins Shares Conference Lead for Rushing Touchdowns
In all the hoopla, I missed this and though others might have missed it as well.
After Saturday's touchdown orgy, Haskins vaulted into a tie with Kenneth Walker III with 18 rushing TDs. He also is now second in yardage (1232) and AVG/G (102.7). Considering Corum is also at (10), (865), and (86.5) it's astounding.
He also leads in hurdling fools with (Infinity).
I just didn't realize how much he really accumulated the stats.

I’ll put some money down that Walker doesn’t score a single td this weekend

+1 underrated

It's MSU. They'll find a way to give him one.

Most rushing TDs in a season for a Michigan running back since??? I don't know because ESPN's database only goes back to 2004, and no other Michigan running back had more than 14 in a season since that time (Mike Hart, '06, '07). The most rushing touchdowns Denard Robinson had was 16 in '11, so this is some historic ass shit from Haskins, and we still have games left.
*edit: Chris Perry 2003, also 18 TDs.

"And we still have THREE games left."

I don't feel like this pic was from this year. Maybe I'm wrong? Streaking past a buckeye creates an optical illusion of Maize pants?
November 30th, 2021 at 2:22 AM ^
Haskins is tied with Chris Perry and Anthony Thomas for touchdowns in a season at 18.
The Michigan record holder is Ron Johnson who had 19 in 1968.
I’ll be shocked if Hassan doesn’t at least tie Johnson’s record. It would be a bad sign for our offense if he doesn’t.
November 30th, 2021 at 2:26 AM ^
That's some good company. Hoping he's got 3 games to go!
November 30th, 2021 at 3:03 AM ^
No offense - but I would be shocked if he does get credit for beating or to tie Johnson's record. I don't think the B10 championship game would count in the season stats. Don't know how that game fits in or the bowls as well, but I assume they don't count as season.

Post season stats are absolutely counted in season statistics and records

Michigan played 10 games in Johnson's 1968 season of 19.
Michigan played 12 games in Thomas's 2000 season of 18.
Michigan played 13 games in Perry's 2003 season of 18.
Michigan's official record book treats all these totals as equal in legitimacy.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:21 AM ^
Well, then, his total should have an asterisk anyway. Johnson scored his in ten regular season games in '68, and we didn't go to a bowl.
See Roger Maris --61* in 1961, when MLB expanded to a 162 game schedule.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
and Ron Johnson only played 10 games in 68.
All these youngins thinking 12 games was the norm
Johnson also ran for 347 yards against Wisconsin, can you fucking imagine that.

Found this about Haskins in the freep from a couple of years back:
Jacob Sumner and the rest of the staff at Eureka High School, about 30 miles to the southwest of St. Louis, knew Haskins was special early on. He earned a leading role on the varsity team as a sophomore. On his third carry as a starter, Haskins ran through a defensive end committed to Alabama and a defensive tackle committed to West Virginia — and then hurdled another defender.
I guess hurdling fools has always been his MO.

Per his Show Me state pedigree

I still remember the quote from a few years ago saying that Haskins may have been a 3* to the sites, but the coaches saw him as a 5*. They definitely hit a home run with that one.

That hurdling of the OSU db was a thing of beauty. There had to be some sort of out-of-body sensation that ran through that kid's head-expecting to get crushed...then there was nothing!

Corum is 8th
November 30th, 2021 at 8:07 AM ^
Remember when Haskins absolutely flattened an OSU defender, I think on a 2pt conversion(?) a few years ago? I remember being so surprised that a 3 star converted LB who converted back to RB could do that to a vaunted OSU defender. It was absolutely an indication of things to come.
November 30th, 2021 at 8:30 AM ^
Like I have said all season... if he were the sole RB here, he'd have made Walker's stats look pedestrian. Haskins is the superior RB...period....
November 30th, 2021 at 8:32 AM ^
There was a run in the 3rd quarter, I think (darn - I'm just gonna have to watch the game for a 3rd time to see exactly where), where HH was free in the secondary angling left, and the safety came over to meet him. Instead of angling further away for a couple more yards, he knew he was caught. So yeah, he cradled the ball with both arms and turned into that safety. He delivered a better hit than the safety did! LMAO!!!
I love Hassan Haskins - and he'll be remembered in Michigan lore like Rob Lytle is remembered.

too bad corum got injured. he would be at or near 1000 yards. would be nice if he broke a couple big runs this weekend to get there.
November 30th, 2021 at 2:28 PM ^
He's still got two games and possibly 3.
