Detroit Lions sign former TE Nick Eubanks to practice squad
He had previously signed with Dallas as a UDFA, then later to Philadelphia's practice squad. The Eagles released him in early September.

Congrats, Nick! What happened? Did the Lions stop using all their first round picks on tight ends??

Darren Fells was the Lions second TE and he asked to be released for lack of usage. The Lions did so and moved the TE they had on the practice squad to the active roster and needed to add one more to roster in case of injuries

I thought about telling my employer the same thing, but I realized no one else would pick me up :/

Forward down the Field.
We have a team that will not yield.

We have a team that yields to every other team.

At least it was close. Probably a record breaking 70-yard field goal.

Good for him. Was always a fan of Nick from the moment he committed.
And at a minimum of $9,200/week, it’s not bad work if you can get it. It’s certainly not Chad Henne backup money (how amazing is that type of career btw?), but if you can do the practice squad thing for a year or two you can clearly start your young adult life off with a major boost.

Yes, until Henne appeared in last year's SB run for the Chiefs, I had forgotten he was still in NFL. He and Mike Hart were freshmen together (?) - and now Mike is the RB coach at the U and Henne is still playing. Definite proof of different longevity of positions.

Dear God no. Run for your life Nick!

Poor guy

What did he ever do to Detroit to deserve that?

If you can't play in the NFL, you might as well play with the Lions.

I always tell people Detroit does not have a professional football team when they ask about the Lions.

How much money does a player make when on the practice squad?

$9200 a week and if he is on the practice squad for 6 games, it counts as a full season. I think current NFL rules are over 3 years in the league, you qualify for the NFL health benefit package of a $50k HSA deposit and access to NFL health insurance.

I mean, he can probably squeak by on that if he doesn't do dumb stuff.

So Nick is a former TE? What does he play now?
