DPJ hits the Bunyan celebration after long TD
DPJ got loose for a 60-yard TD against the Bengals yesterday and celebrated with something that should look very familiar to us. Link in case the embed doesn't work: https://twitter.com/Browns/status/1457422440468987904?s=20

Did I miss it somewhere in that video?
November 8th, 2021 at 8:57 AM ^
I was wondering the same thing, so no, I don't think you missed it.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:24 AM ^
It cut off right as he was about to strike the pose
November 8th, 2021 at 9:28 AM ^
Same here - just about when he strikes the pose, they cut to another guy
November 8th, 2021 at 9:37 AM ^
Video cuts off before, but he does do it, I tried to post yesterday via YouTube but the NFL blocked the content

As a Browns fan, with OBJ finally gone, hopefully we can get DPJ more looks. He's produced most of the time he's targeted. Had a great over the shoulder catch late where he got lit up on the sideline as he made the catch and still held on.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:00 AM ^
OBJ is vastly overrated at this point in his career
November 8th, 2021 at 9:12 AM ^
Overrated by who, you?
November 8th, 2021 at 9:18 AM ^
Well, yeah...
November 8th, 2021 at 12:04 PM ^
I don't pay enough attention to OBJ to know if he's overrated at this point in his career from a physical standpoint (i.e. has he lost a step, can't stay healthy, can't get separation the way he used to), but I do know that a lot of teams will look at him and say bringing his personality into the locker room is not something they're willing to take a gamble on. Especially, and this is just an example, if you're a first year HC like Urban Meyer, with a very young team and a culture you're trying to build. You don't want some guy like OBJ coming in and tearing it all down.
If you're a proven team with a winning, highly stable culture with a lot of proven and committed vets, and you've got a guy who is the undisputed head honcho and can help OBJ get back in his place when/if he steps out of line, then I could see him working out there. Like an Antonio Brown to Tampa Bay situation. Brown has gone to Tampa, largely kept his mouth shut and stayed out of trouble since his arrival, because who the hell is going to cross Tom Brady?
He's too talented not to find a suitor, but if he doesn't find a place like that, we'll probably see him hit the FA market again within two years because no one wanted to deal with his attitude.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:05 AM ^
What was the issue with OBJ at Cleveland?
November 8th, 2021 at 9:10 AM ^
OBJ's toxic selfish personality.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:22 AM ^
Good question. OBJ is still clearly very talented, but he just didn't mesh. Playing with his best friend Jarvis you'd hope he'd figure it out. He did off-season training with Baker and the other receivers too. Seemed to get along great.
But when he's out there it just doesn't work. Maybe Baker felt he needed to get him touches instead of just reading the defense? No idea.
I fully expect OBJ to kill it wherever he ends up.
November 8th, 2021 at 10:43 AM ^
Detroit?
LOL!!! OBJ is the very type of prima-donna the Lions will never sign. (At least for as long as the Ford family owns them, anyway...)
November 8th, 2021 at 11:41 AM ^
Yes, I've always liked that about the Lions. Probably one of the reasons they will never win it all, but I still like it.
Similar to Michigan not taking a lot of chances on who they recruit, character-wise.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:29 AM ^
DPJ > OBJ
November 8th, 2021 at 8:59 AM ^
That was DPJ's way of saying that Michigan got screwed, I guess?
November 8th, 2021 at 9:04 AM ^
Love to see DPJ thriving in the NFL, still only the tip of the iceberg though.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:04 AM ^
This is from the Michigan football twitter account—Paul Bunyan is at the end:
November 8th, 2021 at 9:09 AM ^
That is a great celebration. Loved it.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:22 AM ^
I'm not sure why you think a UM player imitating the trophy given to the UM-MSU winner is a great celebration. Paul has spent 10 of the last 14 years in East Lansing.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:38 AM ^
Gotta love MSU fans who pretend to not be MSU fans. Scurry back to the RCMB now.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:48 AM ^
In all fairness, most RCMBers spend the majority of their time on this site.
November 8th, 2021 at 10:01 AM ^
I never once pretended, I'm an MSU fan and have stated that since post #1 here.
I will also post that UM lost their superbowl this year.
November 8th, 2021 at 10:22 AM ^
Are you vindicated? Feel better? If you are not so bothered by it, you wouldn't have posted this. You are feeling inferior. Yeah. I know. Scoreboard. Yada yada yada. Perception never changes about MSU.
I appreciate you be on our board and I don't mind good conversation. This particular post is not a good one. We actually enjoy conversation with some good buckeyes and nittany fan here.
November 8th, 2021 at 10:35 AM ^
This weekend I posted quite a few rational and level headed posts that reviewed zero responses.
I even complimented Michigan on taking care of business this weekend and suggested that Michigan is the only team that can knock off OSU this year and I think it may happen.
November 8th, 2021 at 10:49 AM ^
So... what caused you to go into full "troll-mode" this morning?
November 8th, 2021 at 11:03 AM ^
It was responding to the few threads on this board bashing MSU. The only unprovoked post was what I started in this thread (even though it's MSU linked).
November 8th, 2021 at 12:29 PM ^
Here, let me take my turn bashing MSU with facts.
The difference between MSU and Michigan is that MSU simply does not possess the recruiting capacity to ever challenge for much as a national program. Another example of this will be when Mel Tucker leaves you after this year to go take LSU or USC or who knows. Relying on striking transfer portal gold like you did this year is also not very reliable.
Your school is just a B level program, proven once again by shitting the bed vs Purdue, which will be followed by your subsequent thumpings at the hands of OSU and likely PSU, launching back into familiar irrelevance.
This is why Michigan is your Super Bowl. Because deep down you know your program cannot and likely never in your lifetime will be of national relevance.
There is only one program in this state with the marquee brand and recruiting capacity to shoot for national relevance - Michigan. But unfortunately for us, we have suffered through mediocre to bad coaching now going on 15 years and growing, which has pushed us from the A tier down to B.
The coaching has brought our once top tier program now down to your level of mediocrity, but the difference is in the potential. We have it, you don't. Our problem (coaching) is fixable, yours (B level program with weak recruiting juice) isn't.
This is why you are little brother. Enjoy your Super Bowl. Enjoy the 10 of 14 run. It's your ceiling. Gratz on enjoying your ceiling during your lifetime. If/when Michigan reaches it's ceiling again, the prize won't be you. It will be Ohio State and national championships. At this rate, the chance that happens again soon is increasingly unlikely, but that is beside the point.
November 8th, 2021 at 1:06 PM ^
TL;DR. I'm sure it was well thought out and full of data driven insight highlighting MSU conference championships, bowl wins, OSU wins, and playoff appearances over the last decade.
If talking about a marquee national brand, perhaps it's highlighting UM bowl wins during their recent days, or perhaps their glory days? With all the clout that comes with being a national name, why has UM won half a national championship since 1950? Why are they routinely waxed in bowl games once they get outside the bigten? Why can't you hire a decent coach? Why does every coach you hire fail? Why hasn't Harbaugh lived up to the nauseating amount of hype that came with the hire? How many times can you cycle assistant coaches and expect new results? Why can't you compete with OSU when you have just as many resources and prestige?
November 8th, 2021 at 10:50 AM ^
"This weekend I posted quite a few rational and level headed posts..."
Says the guy who wants credit for his posts. Whatever you may have said, I kinda doubt you gave the refs credit for anything. I mean, did you at least acknowledge that the ref show may have tipped the balance of the game from one where two equal teams had a shot to one where only one team was going to get a shot?
BTW, I just went and looked at your post history, and it is not exactly filled with "rational and level headed posts".
November 8th, 2021 at 10:25 AM ^
Cool. Which team actually showed up to play the week after the "Super Bowl?"
November 8th, 2021 at 11:44 AM ^
Purdue, they were the better team this weekend. MSU was vastly overrated in the top 5 but that's not a rating they gave themselves.
November 8th, 2021 at 1:13 PM ^
Scurry? More like slither......
November 8th, 2021 at 9:47 AM ^
Phony fan. DPJ beat MSU twice so he's allowed to do what he wants in regards to Sparty. Much like Mike Hart can say whatever because he clowned MSU his entire career here.
November 8th, 2021 at 11:49 AM ^
i think this is called the "kirk cousins walk the streets" rule
November 8th, 2021 at 10:16 AM ^
May be he still values Michigan? Don't know. It was fun. You should be proud that someone in NFL still remembers a trophy between two rivals. Why always have to be contrary? If a MSU player did that, would you come here and say the same thing? Kids are having fun. Let them have it.
November 8th, 2021 at 10:28 AM ^
Relax enema. It will pass.
Just like Sparty's flirtation with relevance.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:29 AM ^
I saw that yesterday when I was watching live but they kept cutting off his celebration on the replay! The wife thought I was making it up. Sweet vindication!
November 8th, 2021 at 9:31 AM ^
If DPJ had a truly great quarterback at Michigan, he would have been a first round draft pick. Dude is such a beast.
November 8th, 2021 at 12:01 PM ^
did you see the catch and hit he took yesterday about the 3 yd line v. cincy? i only caught a couple of minutes of the game, but that catch was good and he took a safety's best (clean) hit, kept the ball and popped right up with no seeming ill-effects from the hit. i think the refs were so surprised they had him go to the sidelines for a play. epic toughness.
November 8th, 2021 at 1:41 PM ^
He is one of my all time favorite Michigan players. Super tough and a tremendous athlete. He would've worn #1 in a different era.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:43 AM ^
Still wondering why the Lions didn’t take him. Local kid with upside and great combine numbers. Oh I know SOL
November 8th, 2021 at 11:03 AM ^
Still thankful the Lions didn't take him. But, not to worry, at some point, he will be a Lion. They never miss out on a chance to bring in someone local at the end of their career.
November 8th, 2021 at 11:45 AM ^
I wouldn't have drafted him. He underperformed his whole career at Michigan.
It's good to see him play well in the Pros though.
November 8th, 2021 at 9:49 AM ^
My fault everyone, I posted the wrong tweet. Thanks to Don above for the correct video. Accepting all negs.
November 8th, 2021 at 10:54 AM ^
Happy for DPJ!
Kid has a ton of talent, and in his second year, its looking like he's carving out a place for himself in the league.
Awesome to see.
November 8th, 2021 at 10:59 AM ^
I liked the part where I refreshed this video three times convinced I missed the pose. So yeah -- this is where I take umbrage with your post, sir. And I have indicated my immense dissatisfaction by smashing the thumbs down upon you and yours...
Good day to you. sir. I said good day!
November 8th, 2021 at 11:07 AM ^
Was DPJ the first person to do this celebration? It was the first time I've seen it and have seen a ton of players do it since.
November 8th, 2021 at 1:24 PM ^
The first time I saw it was when he did it at MSU after a 79-yard TD in 2018:
