Noon game thread
Starting since one isn't up yet.
First play from scrimmage in the Wake vs UNC game: ball carrier has ball ripped out as going down - almost identical to last week's strip sack controversy. Ruled fumble on field and replay official determines ball was out before shin made contact. Fun.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:18 PM ^
Illinois got an interception early from a tipped pass by a blitzer, moved the ball right down the field for a TD.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:18 PM ^
Go Big Red! Go Boilers!
November 6th, 2021 at 12:19 PM ^
Neb LB misses a gimme pick!!!!!
November 6th, 2021 at 12:31 PM ^
Probably because the WR hit him early, OPI? Against the Schmuckeyes? You must be joking.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:20 PM ^
Nebraska dropping all these interceptions...
November 6th, 2021 at 12:22 PM ^
Nebraska throws immediately down field for a big gain, but get close to the red zone and run every play. Let's not be Nebraska anymore
November 6th, 2021 at 12:22 PM ^
Finally got one, on the third perfect interception offering.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:23 PM ^
Let's see if Nebraska can actually finish this time.
Shame for them to come up empty thus far after moving the ball.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:33 PM ^
Shroud has ridiculously low interception numbers? I don't see how (other than a pact with Satan) based on that drive.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:23 PM ^
Stroud missing wide open dudes, on the pick he had someone underneath wide open easy first first down.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:23 PM ^
Bert vs. P.J. Fleck - what a match up.
November 6th, 2021 at 1:23 PM ^
I think Ohio St would be doing better with the back up QB McCord. And that's why I don't want to see him in.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:24 PM ^
Nebraska doing well so far. Let’s keep it going.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:24 PM ^
Nebraska believes they can do this.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:26 PM ^
It really does appear to be that way. Nicely put Clarence!
November 6th, 2021 at 12:31 PM ^
We'll see if it lasts!
November 6th, 2021 at 12:52 PM ^
My guess 38-0 OSU
November 6th, 2021 at 12:24 PM ^
Can't watch B1G games, it's gross.
Watching every team get fair officiating and knowing we will get some calls in meaningless games only to get shit on in big games is infuriating.
2016 OSU and 2021 MSU were absolute abominations.
November 6th, 2021 at 2:15 PM ^
To be fair, officiating isn't really a compelling reason to call Big Ten games "gross", for the conference does go to some lengths to make sure that at least most of us get roundly screwed at some point during the season. You can't say that, as a type of overarching management team, they pass on opportunities to show some disdain for all of their member schools.
Now, the fact that being in this conference involves playing Rutgers on occasion now and that it means someone somewhere has to watch Wisconsin-Iowa each year.....THAT'S a bit gross...
November 6th, 2021 at 12:24 PM ^
There was tight coverage there. Stroud not playing well against a pressure defense. I think this is his fatal flaw, which showed in a big way against Oregon, and maybe will be costly today too.
One can only hope. I think if Nebraska plays like this for 60 minutes they will win. But that's 60 minutes....
November 6th, 2021 at 12:28 PM ^
Depends on how many stupid things Martinez does
November 6th, 2021 at 12:25 PM ^
This is a classic 90s era OSU team, talent all over the field but a glaring weak spot at QB.
This might actually be our year.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:27 PM ^
Waiting for the Nebraska illegal formation TD..
November 6th, 2021 at 12:30 PM ^
That tackle on the punt return would add fire to Neb
November 6th, 2021 at 12:31 PM ^
Illinois opening up holes in the run game!
November 6th, 2021 at 12:32 PM ^
Don’t get sucked in. OSU does this all the time. They will look like a completely different team when they play Michigan.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:34 PM ^
Buckeye's look horrible. It's probably too much to ask that they would look like this against us.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:35 PM ^
I feel for the Nebraska defense. They’ve actually had an excellent season, but their offense and special teams constantly lets them down. Incidentally we’ve had the best offensive performance of any of their opponents.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:35 PM ^
Watching Liberty @ Ole Miss. I still think the whole story of Hugh Freeze getting fired for cavorting with ladies of the night, only to resurface at a *the* ultra-conservative evangelical Christian college (who also happen to be desperate to boost their football program) as a 'reformed man' probably summarizes the phenomenon known as the American South more than anything else. It's actually amusing in its own right that the involved parties keep a straight face.
November 6th, 2021 at 1:35 PM ^
Well, the Liberty AD that hired Freeze was previously the AD at Baylor, so he has a history of looking the other way.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:37 PM ^
You have to take advantage when Ohio St makes mistakes or gets off to a sluggish start. It’s pretty much that simple.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:40 PM ^
It looks like Nebraska is giving perceived pressure by how they're running around on defense, and it has thrown Stroud into reacting prematurely at everything.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:37 PM ^
Bielema got Illinois going in the right direction. Looks alot like how Wisconsin plays offense. Needs more talent but definitely moving the program forward.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:39 PM ^
Gotta feeling about Purdue vs. Sparty today. Notwithstanding the dozens of gratuitous comments about how invincible OSU will be the rest of the season the last few weeks, they look beatable so far today, though Nebraska will need more contribution from their special teams than they are getting.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:41 PM ^
Kind of amazing how bad Martinez is
November 6th, 2021 at 1:12 PM ^
Makes you wonder how they scored 29 points against Michigan. At least it makes me wonder.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:43 PM ^
Heckuva Nebraska punt.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:44 PM ^
Coverage also paid it off
November 6th, 2021 at 12:47 PM ^
0-0, Nebraska leads at the end of the first!
November 6th, 2021 at 12:47 PM ^
Regarding the only noon game that is relevant to UM: UNC vs WF.
Wake Forest is #9 in the CFP. UM #7. WF is probably close enough in the CFP poll that a few CFP voters are likely putting WF ahead of UM. Thus, all UM fans should be rooting for UNC today. A UNC win steals WF votes and will give a few of them to UM. Every top-tier CFP poll vote is precious.
November 6th, 2021 at 12:50 PM ^
OSU/Neb is relevant for the Big Ten East race.
November 6th, 2021 at 1:24 PM ^
He said relevant for Michigan. OSU wins, Michigan has to win out and hope MSU loses twice. OSU loses and Michigan has to win out and hope MSU loses twice. Not seeing how the result of the UN -OSU matters much to Michigan.
November 6th, 2021 at 1:35 PM ^
We’re not only competing against MSU. We want all of our East rivals to lose against the West to give us more chances.
November 6th, 2021 at 2:32 PM ^
The might be some extremely low possibility otherwise, but almost certainly M must end up with a better record than MSU.
The only way M doesn't have to beat OSU is for both OSU and MSU to lose 3 B1G games. For this to happen, MSU must beat OSU and lose their other three game and OSU must lose today and against Purdue. In short extremely unlikely.
If OSU loses today, it opens the possibility for M to lose 1 more non-OSU game IF MSU loses 3 more times. This is the only slightly tangible benefit of OSU losing. The flip side of this is a OSU loss would mean lower strength of schedule for M and lower our chances of making the cfp.

Uncatchable but stupid by the CB
November 6th, 2021 at 12:53 PM ^
Is anyone watching the Nebraska / OSU game feeling the .... "if we had any year to beat THEM this is for SURE the year to do it". We can beat these guys this year! ! One game at a time but man ..... they are not sharp at all. Good game so far.
November 6th, 2021 at 1:14 PM ^
Well, OSU has recently had some seasons where they didn't look sharp until playing Michigan.
I mean, Michigan was actually favorited to beat them one season not too long ago.
November 6th, 2021 at 4:13 PM ^
Yes ... this is unfortunately true. Just saying they don't look and haven't looked explosive this year as a whole. One can hope they implode in the last game of the season. =)
November 6th, 2021 at 1:32 PM ^
"Is anyone watching OSU Nebraska?" Seriously? Read the blog.
November 6th, 2021 at 2:45 PM ^
"Is anyone watching the Nebraska / OSU game feeling the ....... "if we had any year to beat THEM this is for SURE the year to do it"
Seriously? Did you read the ENTIRE first line? Duh
