Go Blue! 4 game season. Support the team
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:47 PM ^
Let's hope for a 7 game season!!
November 2nd, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
Time to win out, baby! LFG!!!

November 2nd, 2021 at 7:25 PM ^
Perhaps I am drinking Kool-Aid but I think there is a real possibility this team can finish strong and go into OSU at 10-1 and at that point anything can happen!
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:51 PM ^
I completely agree. This ranking shows that committee is giving Michigan a clear chance to make the playoffs. We have a hard road ahead of us but assuming OSU beats MSU, if we win out, I believe we will be in. A lot of things can and will change by then but this team should be energized by this ranking. Then again, these rankings really have been meaningless in the past because in the end, OSU has been able to jump two spots in the last week even with the two teams in front of them winning.
November 3rd, 2021 at 12:05 AM ^
Yeah, crazy thing about this ranking, Michigan probably doesn't even need to win the division. In fact, they might be more likely to go to CFP, if there is a three way tie as opposed to MSU losing twice.
If there's a three way tie, Michigan would almost certainly be the highest ranking of the three, likely at least 3rd in CFP (assuming OU and Oregon lose at least once). At that point Michigan is probably more likely to make the CFP by sitting at home the way OSU did in 2016 and Alabama in in I think 2018 (?) than if MSU loses another game which would then put Michigan in the position of needing to win another game.
I'd still rather win the conference, but if MSU doesn't lose this weekend, Michigan probably still has a good chance of making it by winning out.
November 2nd, 2021 at 8:17 PM ^
I want to see our homefield count for something this year against OSU.
November 2nd, 2021 at 9:17 PM ^
I'd love to see very little if any red in the stadium.
November 2nd, 2021 at 11:21 PM ^
Big Ten owes UM simply for this MSU officiating fiasco … and then there are a few more examples in Harbaugh’s tenure.
Regardless, this team is good enough to win with just a level field. Go Blue.
November 3rd, 2021 at 8:10 AM ^
The Big Ten owes Michigan nothing. The entitlement is what will continually hold you back. Maybe your D coordinator owes the team an apology for his ridiculous sub patterns that kept getting penalized? Maybe Corum owes the team an apology for missing an easy catch that had a strong chance of being a long TD? Maybe Macnamara owes the team an apology for his overthrow on the left sideline fade that would have won the game on the second to last series? Maybe JJ owes the team an apology for his fumbles? Maybe Michigan owes MSU a thank you for botching the scoop and score on the prior Michigan fumble?
I can go on all day.
November 3rd, 2021 at 11:21 AM ^
Ah, got it, Michigan made mistakes in the course of a football game so therefore they can get cosmically screwed by the refs...again. A level playing field created by somewhat competent officiating is not too much to ask.
November 2nd, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
It's true anything can happen. First fumble of the year for Haskins... Interception bounces off Dax's chest and into Olave's hands... Ref calls the rarely utilized defensive holding on the d-line against Hutchinson after he gets tackled to the ground... Ball spotted 2 yards from where the player went down, in the opposite direction we want of course. The possibilities are endless.
November 2nd, 2021 at 9:35 PM ^
The worst part is all those things actually happend in recent history when Michigan played OSU.
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:18 PM ^
My personal "favorite" was the 2016 OSU game when the ref called an unsportsmanlike penalty on Harbaugh because what he did would be a technical foul in basketball.
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:12 PM ^
I expect UM to be 10-1, and in the CFP top 5 when UM plays at home vs The Great Evil. UM has one maybe tough game remaining - PSU. But I think PSU has been exposed as a paper-tiger.

Top 10
1. UGA
2. Bama
3. MSU
4. Oregon
5. OSU
6. Cinci
7. Michigan
8. OU
9. Wake Forest
10. ND
Couple takeaways about this committee:
1. they valued head to head which I like
2. they basically did not care about bad losses and weighed good wins FAR more heavily, which feels like a throw-back to committees a few years ago. See: Oregon, Miss St., Minn. etc.
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:36 PM ^
The bad part now - with these rankings - is that we have to hope OSU beats MSU if we want any kind of chance at a B1G title and the playoffs. I was getting sick to my stomach just typing this.
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:47 PM ^
OSU is a bad matchup for everyone, but it’s a nightmare for MSU. I’d be surprised if the Spartans keep that within 20 points.
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:50 PM ^
The positive for Michigan State against the Buckeyes is that they play them before the OSU - Michigan game, so Ohio State may overlook them a bit.
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:59 PM ^
Msu has played them tougher than we have over the years, doubt they look past them. That’s the reality
November 2nd, 2021 at 8:34 PM ^
Let's see how the heavyweight prize fighting tactic works vs OSU. I'm sure Gus Johnson will gush over it.
November 2nd, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
I’m still haunted by Gus screaming “BOOGEYMAN” in my sleep. I’d rather listen my toothless brother in law eat a tangerine than unmute the tv on any game that guys commentates.
November 2nd, 2021 at 9:14 PM ^
They have been blown out the last four times they have played.
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:17 PM ^
They laugh at us. State has at least beat them. They aren’t overlooking them, too much on the line and they have a history.
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:30 PM ^
As much as I want to pretend 2015 was like two weeks ago, it’s been a hot minute since we beat them ? *windmills sadly*
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:59 PM ^
LMAO yea state laugh's at us.. State has beat them and so have we in the PAST...
Literally no one on the MSU football team now has ever beat OSU that is all that matters
November 2nd, 2021 at 11:16 PM ^
I was referring to osu laughing at us, although msu probably does as well unfortunately
November 3rd, 2021 at 8:28 PM ^
Hell the way Tucker built his team, no one on the MSU football team beat Michigan until last weekend either.

November 2nd, 2021 at 10:29 PM ^
Sure, but the time before THAT we only lost by one ?
November 2nd, 2021 at 11:05 PM ^
You better hope Purdue doesn't tackle Walker lll well. And that Purdue's three headed QB doesn't do to States defense what it did to Iowa's defense, which is much better than States. State loses to Purdue, and Ohio St and Penn St will be smelling blood in the water.
November 2nd, 2021 at 9:23 PM ^
they'll kill each other trying.
November 2nd, 2021 at 8:10 PM ^
Any other year and I would probably agree. But with MSU inside the playoff top 4, I don't think that will be the case this year.
November 2nd, 2021 at 8:52 PM ^
OSU isn't overlooking Sparty, especially if they're ranked ahead of them in the CFP. The Death Star will be fully locked and loaded to destroy that awful secondary.
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:00 PM ^
Stroud might throw for 600 yards.
November 3rd, 2021 at 12:40 AM ^
OSU will not overlook an undefeated divisional foe because they're focused on another team with (at least) one conference loss).
November 3rd, 2021 at 8:28 AM ^
Call me crazy. But OSU could overlook MSU and still put up 550+ passing yards on that secondary
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:49 PM ^
No, you have to hope both OSU and a second team (PSU, mostly) beat Sparty for us to get a chance -- unless you're positing that the B10 will get 2 teams in the CFP, which is highly unlikely.
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:54 PM ^
Or Purdue. Let’s hope MSU is already overlooking Purdue too!
November 2nd, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
Purdue could very well win that game. They match up.
This season has that weird mojo 2015 MSU made deal with the devil season though.
MSUs season is made regardless.
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:06 PM ^
Purdue will lead the entire way and then MSU will win on some bullshit
November 2nd, 2021 at 7:58 PM ^
Idk about that. If OSU pounds Staee I think it's conceivable that we move ahead of both teams when we beat OSU.
Then MSU loses in Indy and we get picked as the 4th team. OSU got in that way a few years ago IIRC.
Naturally MSU losing the rest of their games is the easiest path for us.
November 2nd, 2021 at 9:48 PM ^
Then MSU loses in Indy and we get picked as the 4th team
I'm sure MSU fans wouldn't be at all bitter about that outcome
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:05 PM ^
OH, MY! THAT WOULD BE SOOOOO MUCH FUN!
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:50 PM ^
Their season is already made. Anything else is gravy.
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:53 PM ^
To be fair, we were already saying that like three weeks ago. We won TWO games last year ?
November 3rd, 2021 at 1:34 AM ^
No, in this scenario OSU would go to Indy...but with two losses. We'd be sitting at home already in like they were in 2016. And they'd be playing for nothing like PSU did that year.
November 3rd, 2021 at 2:06 AM ^
If we end with a three-way tie (MSU, OSU and UM 8-1 with wins over each other), then MSU almost definitely doesn't go to the title game. I was starting to type out why, then just turned it into a diary so feel free to read that.
It's likely OSU, with Michigan having an outside shot.
November 2nd, 2021 at 10:28 PM ^
Actually if OSU beats MSU, Michigan wins out, and MSU loses in the B1G Championship game, I bet Michigan, and not MSU, goes to the CFP. (Not that I expect that scenario to happen.)
November 3rd, 2021 at 10:56 AM ^
If osu beats msu, why the fuck would msu go to the big title game?
