Michigan football adds CMU and New Mexico to 2025 schedule
This is in addition to already having an away game against Oklahoma in the non conference slate. This will also be the first meeting between Michigan and New Mexico
Username checks out!
Chips @ LSU on Sept. 18. Come on down and have a good time in the bayou! I'm gonna be tailgating in my CMU gear.
U-M will host 5/12 of the Mountain West Conference in the 2022-2025 era. (CSU, Hawaii, UNLV, Fresno State, New Mexico).
They will host 5/7 of the Big Ten West in the same time frame (miss Northwestern & Minnesota).
Well... Harvard of the West, right?
Those games should all be noon starts. Especially for Hawaii. It will be like midnight for them.
Get a map or, better yet, google it. Noon start is 6a in Hawaii.
Sorry. Math challenged today. ?
Actually it's 7 a.m. 5 hour time difference between Michigan and Hawaii.
FINALLY!!!!
Just give the $1mil to another MAC school. Who came up with the idea to even consider New Mexico?
I like this move just because we have never played them before.
I wonder if people know just exactly how bad UNM is.
They should schedule New Mexico State in 2025, since we have not played them before.

Bring on the Lobos!
Will we have beaten osu by then
/jk, but I hope you are wrong.
No, but you've got to like Campbell's chances in Norman.
Two good games for Harbaugh’s youth football program in Ann Arbor. SEC fans heard that all players that go to Michigan to play are guaranteed at least 20 plays per game to ensure equity among its youth players. The 20 plays are limited to 5 against OSU because the Buckeyes hit too hard
I can’t imagine going through life with as much negativity as you possess. How do you get out of bed in the morning?
He’s a troll. Likely an OSU fan. Read his posting history. Just a pure douchebag.
The only negative here is adding 2 tomato cans to the schedule to artificially boost Harbs' winning percentage.
scfanblue sees too much "wokeness" wherever he looks.
Good for them beefing up their OOC schedule with these teams that should give them a competitive game.
More "power" scheduling - getting those games that fans desperately want to see (and pay to attend).

Stupid to play New Mexico.
I realize we have to play mid majors, but at least play one from a fertile recruiting area.
Doesn't matter if the area is "fertile" if Michigan plays the game at home. Unless you mean that the opponent should be a place Michigan players get recruited to once they leave the program after 18 months.....
Either way, I prefer they play a game worth watching. These games will be ignored by my TV.
UM got Zach Gentry and O'Maury Samuels out of NM recently, just sayin
Scheduling New Mexico is embarrassing.
You're right. We should be scheduling Mercer and New Mexico State, like Alabama did this year. Lol
Seriously....can the people on this blog stop being so negative about EVERYTHING. ?
Seriously....can the people on this blog stop being so negative about EVERYTHING
That's like asking water not to be wet. It's what we do.
like Alabama did this year. Lol
False equivalency.
When Michigan wins like 'Bama does, then get back to us.
Lol indeed.
They are already playing at Oklahoma that year. If your goal is to compete for a national championship two big out of conference games is pretty stupid
I support games against directional Michigan schools and the MAC. Playing a team like New Mexico makes no sense.
Michigan paid $1.9 million to Middle Tennessee in 2019. On an abstract level, of course that's ridiculous. But if those monies are going to be paid, keep the money in-state and help the local schools who need it to survive.
That's weird, the CFP says SoS matters.
I don't think its embarrassing if we continue to sprinkle in really good home/homes with the likes of Texas, Oklahoma, etc.......You have to balance the schedule to be competitive in this day and age without dropping to the FCS level.
We cant have our cake and eat it too......unless you are an SEC school that doesn't care about taking lambs to the slaughter.....
Just... boring
McElwain's gonna be hungry to get that first win against Michigan. Someone in the crowd better hold up a picture of a sexy shark to distract him.
Michigan wins the National Championship, after going undefeated.
MGoBlog posters: "This is BS! We didn't win every game by 50 points, and couldn't even shut out every opponent! Hell, we didn't even play Alabama, so the championship doesn't count!".
Seriously....the negative stance on EVERY SINGLE football related story is ridiculous. It really is exhausting, and ruins the joy of being a fan. If the football program is so frustrating, then why even be a fan?
We all know the "down in front" fans, we also have the "stay off my lawn" fans, but the truly evil ones are the "I'm only a fan when they win." There is nothing wrong with any of those types of fans (except the last group, screw them). Unfortunately, some but not all, are far more likely to respond negatively when things don't go how they plan.
Doesn’t New Mexico play 8-Man football?
They are putting two cupcakes around OU (assuming that stays on the schedule), which I guess is alright.
Rocky Long was a good coach and had a decent program there. They’ve followed that by hiring Mike freaking Locksley and went “oh wait there’s more!” And hired Bob fucking Davie.
My guess is by 2025 they will at least be okay but damn they wasted a lot of time with those to trash piles of HCs.
The last sentence/paragraph make me sigh. Is this not what the non-Michigan football world says about us???
