Now hopefully the Illini will quit their bitchin
February 19th, 2021 at 7:24 PM ^
Sean Higgins sends his regards.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:26 PM ^
I can think of 1989 reasons why Illinois should STFU.
February 20th, 2021 at 2:21 AM ^
Lou Henson never got over that loss. His team was dominant. Both teams had so much NBA talent - Michigan just got hot at the right time in March.
What a great sports memory for the good guys! Go Blue!
February 19th, 2021 at 8:40 PM ^
No, no they won't. Michigan replaces their home game with Nebraska and they have to play at osu. Their last 3 games are away so that will cause more bitching.
February 19th, 2021 at 10:07 PM ^
The fighting lil whine whines
February 20th, 2021 at 4:06 AM ^
I mean, I’m good with that
February 19th, 2021 at 10:55 PM ^
I’d be surprised if M wins all 3 games in a span of less than a week. Fatigue will be a factor.
February 20th, 2021 at 9:59 AM ^
i think fatigue is much less of a factor for 18-20 yr olds than the time coaches and players have watching film on opponents and game planning.
February 20th, 2021 at 2:51 PM ^
fatigue? I mean its not like they didnt just have 22 days off to rest now is jt?
February 20th, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
Pshyeah, right.
They still complain about the 2000 Henson comeback night game
February 19th, 2021 at 7:27 PM ^
Figured this is what would happen. MSU twice right at the end of the season will be interesting.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:59 PM ^
Strong schedule to continue building this team's character.
February 19th, 2021 at 8:44 PM ^
It's probably because of TV but I wish the Iowa game was on the 24th instead of the 25th so there would be 2 days in between the games.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:31 PM ^
If they were only gonna reschedule 2 games, it's honestly kind of odd we ended up with a one day break between Iowa and Indiana, when we had a full week off to work with next week.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:31 PM ^
One ass-kicking of MSU and Izzo is delightful. Twice within a week is divine. Can't wait to watch Little Tommy's head explode
February 19th, 2021 at 9:36 PM ^
Just imagine if WE could be the reason that tiny tom izziot doesn't get into March Madness - GLORIOUS!
Maybe then we can rename the 3rd month of the year BACK to the word March!
February 20th, 2021 at 8:13 AM ^
They did this all on their own.
February 20th, 2021 at 1:20 AM ^
You shut your whore mouth
(Clearly you do not remember football season and the shit talking that went on around here leading up to the msu game)
February 19th, 2021 at 7:35 PM ^
Not too bad of a reschedule. I love getting MSU back to back to end the season and their misery.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:38 PM ^
Hopefully the team is not overconfident like football and actually prepares. Make no mistake these games will be extremely tough. MSU will be desperate for a win and I expect them to play dirty.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:44 PM ^
The issue for MSU is the team is chock full of scrubs. They only have one player, Henry, who would crack the rotation at UM and he'd likely only get 8-10 minutes a game. It's not like he's good enough to put Zay or Franz on the bench.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:46 PM ^
Coulda said the same thing about football too.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:51 PM ^
Difference is Michigan basketball is actually good and Michigan football is not.
February 19th, 2021 at 8:11 PM ^
Difference is that Howard is a coach in his prime. Harbaugh is past his prime.
February 19th, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
I know how to fix that. Get Harbaugh to style like Juwan. Maize jacket, gray athletic pants & pink spikes on the sideline.
February 19th, 2021 at 9:35 PM ^
....and have Juwan teach him some moves....
February 19th, 2021 at 7:44 PM ^
seems right. You knew that Illinois and Iowa would definitely be rescheduled. And MSU back to back makes sense due to logistics
seems fairly reasonable.
February 20th, 2021 at 11:38 AM ^
Iowa wasn't rescheduled, it was moved. We always only had one against them.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:45 PM ^
So now we play Iowa twice, instead of once as originally scheduled? And lose second games against bottom feeders Northwestern and Penn State, as well as Indiana?
Edit: No second game vs Iowa, its just getting played a week earlier and Illinois is taking the original spot for our one game vs them, and then two games vs MSU to close out the regular season. Play every school at least once, but if winning percentage is used to determine the conference winner we could get burned not getting likely Ws against Northwestern, Penn State, and Indiana (at Crisler).
February 19th, 2021 at 7:48 PM ^
so i'm not seeing it anywhere now... but i could have swore we were scheduled to play iowa during the shutdown??
February 19th, 2021 at 7:59 PM ^
Originally scheduled to only play them March 4 @ Crisler, but that game is now moved up to Feb 25 to make room for postponed Illinois and MSU games. Games we missed were at Penn State (rescheduled from Jan 9), Indiana, at Northwestern, MSU, and Illinois.
February 19th, 2021 at 8:07 PM ^
No - we only play Iowa once - the date has been adjusted to allow 2 other games to be rescheduled. We are on adding back the Illinois game - to play each team at least once- and MSU (for schadenfreude).
February 19th, 2021 at 7:47 PM ^
So while Illinois and others got to replace Michigan with Nebraska, Michigan doesn’t get the gimmie games rescheduled, only the hard ones. Why does it seems like Michigan always gets screwed by the conference and Warde just sits there and takes it?
February 19th, 2021 at 7:52 PM ^
Only Illini and Iowa game was rescheduled because they haven't played them. They didn't get screwed since B1G was consistent with everyone needing to play every team in the conference once this season. Michigan got a favorable reschedule with no back to back days of games or a one day rest.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:56 PM ^
Ok so why MSU twice vs PSU, Northwestern, or IU twice? Ratings and money over competitive fairness, that’s why.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:58 PM ^
MSU is a bad team and are in the same tier as PSU and NW. Indiana is a bubble team. Out of all the teams, I want MSU twice so I enjoy watching Michigan kicking their ass twice and send Tom crying to end the season.
February 19th, 2021 at 8:12 PM ^
I'd be happy to play sparty all 6 games. I'd love to see Izzo's head explode.
February 20th, 2021 at 2:23 PM ^
Still think you’d so much rather play MSU than IU? The games will be MSU’s super bowl. They’ll play with more energy than in any game this far guaranteed.
February 19th, 2021 at 10:43 PM ^
If you look at PSU's schedule, it is a mess in its own right. That's because PSU missed 2 weeks of games themselves back in early January.
Not everything is a conspiracy. Sometimes, it's just logistics. A U-M/PSU or U-M/NW game was trickier to schedule than U-M/Iowa or U-M/Illinois.
February 20th, 2021 at 8:40 AM ^
Not everything is a conspiracy.
^^^ This statement earned you an upvote. ?
February 19th, 2021 at 7:56 PM ^
Because East Lansing is closer than Chicago or Bloomington?
and to add, Michigan only had 2 of the 5 games missed rescheduled it looks like.
That's a win for sure. I want Michigan to play Iowa and Illinois...that's a great test for them heading into the NCAA...MSU isn't any tougher than PSU or NW or Indiana either.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:48 PM ^
So there’s an MSU game on 3/4 and 3/7 then? Maybe I’m missing something, but the schedule on mgoblue is only showing the 3/4 game.
February 19th, 2021 at 7:55 PM ^
It's not updated yet but Dylan from UMHoops have this right:
February 19th, 2021 at 7:59 PM ^
So Michigan’s layoff can still bite them in the butt because the games UM misses that others got to play are PSU, IU, and Northwestern. Not to mention playing twice in three days twice.
February 19th, 2021 at 8:04 PM ^
The only make up games added with Illinois and MSU.
Michigan was already scheduled to play Iowa on March 4 - it got bumped up due to travel. Illinois was a lock to be rescheduled, as it should be.
so your complaints are about Michigan playing MSU versus PSU/NW/Indiana?
February 19th, 2021 at 8:17 PM ^
He's literally complaining about playing MSU twice as if he thinks MSU is an elite team in which they're a below average team this season. I do not get it. B1G gave them a big break by allowing Michigan to reschedule 2 of the 5 games instead of all 5 games. Juwan was insistent on not running his team ragged with the rescheduled games and he got his wish.
February 19th, 2021 at 8:31 PM ^
yup. Michigan got off lucky. Only 2 games rescheduled? only 17 B1G games?
Pretty sure the the team is travelling by bus due the covid budget impacts, and if that's the case, I'd take a 1 hour bus ride versus 4 hours to chicago, 5 hours to Bloomington and 7 hours to happy valley
February 19th, 2021 at 8:05 PM ^
I was just there a couple of minutes ago, 3/7 is on there now
February 19th, 2021 at 8:32 PM ^
This is honestly pretty fair. Ohio State, Illinois and Iowa had to be played if we want any sort of real regular season champion. Back-to-back against Sparty will be an absolutely wonderful way to close out the season. Getting Illinois and Iowa at home is big too. Honestly, the only game left that scares me is this Sunday, but we have a cushion to give. Illinois is the only other team that should really challenge us. Definitely excited to see how it all plays out.
