Hunter Dickinson "Pub" - ESPN - Ranking the top 25 men's college basketball players for '20-21, v2.0
Refreshing to see the kid get some serious recognition for his impact this season.

pay site, shame on you!
psst, can you paste the stuff on Dickinson? Thanks.

It said Hunter has demonstrated a unique ability to mentally nut-shot opponents using actual and demoralizing basketball skill rather than by his hands or feet like some badgers and other lower order animals. (See Davison, Brad)

What is he ranked out of 25?
Edit: He is 5th in the country.

My apologies. I did not realize that list was on a pay-wall site. In summary, Dickinson comes in ranked as the #5 player in the country by ESPN on the revised list. He was not on the pre-season list.
Thanks for pointing out my oversight.

Amazing. Not top 5 freshmen, but top 5 OVERALL. Who saw that coming?
January 13th, 2021 at 2:16 PM ^
Next, they can add him to the Wooden watch list!
January 13th, 2021 at 2:17 PM ^
I’m not going to share writing that’s behind a paywall, but I will say that Dickinson is #5 on the list and the top freshman.

"5. Hunter Dickinson, Michigan Wolverines
With Dickinson, we encounter the first player who was nowhere to be seen in the preseason version of these rankings. Now, suddenly, the 7-1 freshman is clocking in at No.5. Not a bad debut, one might venture to say. Dickinson's a volume scorer in the paint who's converting roughly three out of every four 2-point attempts. Not surprisingly, that was enough to earn the young man a starting spot after he had watched UM's first opening tips from the bench. If it's curious that the leading scorer (at 18 per game) for a team that might earn a No. 1 seed was left off last week's Wooden Award midseason top 25 watch list, it is a curiosity that can and likely will be rectified. Dickinson can still be included on the final ballot of 15 players."

Im not sure MGOBLOG wants pay site articles copied to posts here? Also the recruiting sites were more to blame on this one. Not even a top 40 recruit? Shame. Ill be honest exciting goes a lot farther in recruiting rankings than efficiency. I think Coach Howard is going to money ball the shit out of recruiting. Can you even do that with the number 1 class?
EDIT- "im not sure" translated on MGOBLOG.

Seems like trying to rank/predict a 7' high school senior is akin to trying to do the same with a 6'6 300lb OL coming out of high school. Tough to really know how much is skill vs size until they arrive on campus.

General rule of thumb is that a short excerpt is fine, but copying/pasting entire articles or lists is verboten.

Ok karen

It’s ESPN, It’s fine.

Lessoned learned. Just trying to provide people with information to go to read on their own. I did not realize that the site was a pay-wall; My Apologies.
The second lesson learned from this post is that when you post on this site, you will immediately hear from the anal-retentive Michigan fanbase. I will not be posting going forward due to there being too many douchy fans on this site.

No big loss, Massengill.

I'm a douchy fan and I'm offended by your post.

Can't believe that ESPN charges for this mediocre at best analysis

Linking a pay site and not providing a synopsis. You deserve all the downvotes...

Franz should be on this list, he's been a stud in conference play, he's really stepped up his game against power 5 competition.
January 13th, 2021 at 2:35 PM ^
He's doing too many things well right now. If he instead were getting 24pts per game and NOT putting up the great defense and the stats that go along with it, he'd get mentioned. Such is sports media.
January 13th, 2021 at 3:57 PM ^
Because he is doing EVERYTHING so well, is exactly why he should be on this list.
January 13th, 2021 at 2:38 PM ^
When I clicked on this post I expected to see him spotted around 20-25. If they did a top 50 he would most definitely be on it.

Would you mind posting your ESPN+ username and password while you are at it?

SSN# and the credit card CCV you used as well please!

Gonzaga has 4 players in the top 25 (top 21 really). That’s going to be a tough team to take out. But I really do like this Michigan team at the moment.

Best freshman I've ever seen

I guess you weren't around when Phil Hubbard was playing prior to blowing out his knee ?
