Every 11W Beat Writer picked Ohio State to win; two of them by double digits. LOL.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:33 PM ^
Majority of their fans are calling for Coombs head.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:38 PM ^
Am I crazy for thinking we might want him up here
January 11th, 2021 at 11:39 PM ^
So what is it that you do here, Mattison? Coombs calls plays and Larry Johnson is the d line coach yeah? Is Greg's job just to look fat and old? Cause he's got that down pat
January 11th, 2021 at 11:48 PM ^
Milk, seriously. Mattison is such the joke. Glad he doesn't win this and sold his soul for a steaming pile of nut shit.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:01 AM ^
I've always thought the play for Mattison was more about diminishing us than elevating the OSU D. After all, he was categorically overqualified as the DL coach he let himself be demoted to here (not denigrating that by the way; that was a serious coup -- both for recruiting and DL development -- when the Harbaugh era was days old).
January 12th, 2021 at 12:05 AM ^
Hurting your own team in an effort to diminish your rival's success is an MSU move, and clearly backfired tonight
January 12th, 2021 at 8:14 AM ^
Odd because Michigan's defense has not been the same since he left
January 12th, 2021 at 12:02 AM ^
Having Mattison on their staff, even if he is OSU’s organ grinder monkey on a leash, is a big old FU to Michigan. He doesn’t have to do anything, other than making sure there is coffee and doughnuts there in the morning.
January 12th, 2021 at 11:10 AM ^
Getting $1MM a year, right? That's like a better gig than backup NFL QB.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:33 PM ^
What a perfect end to the Justin Fields era. The best QB they have ever had. No championships to show for it.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:37 PM ^
It's a cosmic joke that Cardale Jones won a title and Troy Smith won a Heisman, but Fields didn't really get close to winning either
January 11th, 2021 at 11:56 PM ^
Ya, but at least he can go forward with the knowledge that no Ohio State QB lasts long in the NFL due to a complete lack of productivity
Edit: I forgot about the great Art Schlicter. He lasted awhile in the NFL, although he had a few small off the field issues if you can believe it.
Personally, I’d recommend Fields take the Dwayne Haskins path to obscurity, rather than the one Art chose.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:31 AM ^
or character.
But hey, everybody murders. . .
January 12th, 2021 at 11:29 AM ^
Well to be fair he got kinda close to one.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:46 PM ^
Did he ever set foot on OSU's campus?
January 12th, 2021 at 12:05 AM ^
Did he ever actually step foot in an academic building to begin with? His first semester playing football were all online courses.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:55 PM ^
And a losing record in the playoffs... pathetic
January 12th, 2021 at 9:33 AM ^
Historians will look back at the past three years and see a tale of dominant QB's.
Tua Tagvailoa, the QB who stunned the world on the biggest stage, securing a title early and dominating CFB until he was devastated by an injury.
Trevor Lawrence, the chosen one. A QB prospect made in a lab who would go on to win a national championship in his freshman year.
Joe Burrow, the underdog that came out of now where and strung together one of the most dominant seasons of all time enroute to a national title.
Justin Fields, the little engine that couldn't. He would go on to not win a heisman or a national championship. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:35 PM ^
They would get death threats if they hadn’t.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:35 PM ^
Poor guys - just starting to realize what we all already know: Day cannot get it done on the biggest stage
January 11th, 2021 at 11:47 PM ^
This argument is always so stupid. Only 1 guy a year gets to say he got it done on the biggest stage. He got it done on the 2nd biggest stage, and the 3rd biggest, and kicking our ass last year. And btw, the biggest stage was againstan Alabama team that looks like it could compete with LSU last year...all-time teams. OSU of course has great players but these blowout championships are the new norm. It's just how the games go.
I wish we were on the biggest stage "not getting it done".

Sure Herbie, sure
January 11th, 2021 at 11:56 PM ^
nut hugger
January 12th, 2021 at 12:04 AM ^
Ryan Day and Jim Harbaugh have the same number of national championships.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:07 AM ^
Putin is tracking with me on this very important fact
January 12th, 2021 at 12:05 AM ^
In this case it's honestly fair to ask this question of Day. He didn't build their program. He inherited the Meyer juggernaut, and even got a free 5-star transfer QB before his first game.
January 12th, 2021 at 1:48 PM ^
The caption of this photo should be simply: "Alcohol."
January 11th, 2021 at 11:38 PM ^
Fucking loserboys.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:39 PM ^
As somebody who lives and works in Columbus I will cherish this loss for the rest of the week. Tomorrow instead of hearing my bosses son (his dad is a Booster/season ticket holder) run his mouth like he did all day today, he’ll sit quietly in his office and won’t make eye contact with me. I love it.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:42 PM ^
You couldn’t pay me enough to work in that environment.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:51 PM ^
I get 4 weeks vacation and they pay 100% of my health insurance. I had to swallow my pride for that LOL. All jokes aside it’s pretty rough, they never shut the hell up about Michigan. Even with them playing for a natty today, the only thing they talked about was Harbaugh getting an extension.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:58 PM ^
Tomorrow, it will all be worth it.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:04 AM ^
I'll Venmo you $20 if you wear an Alabama hat in to work tomorrow.
January 12th, 2021 at 6:55 AM ^
I’d do it for free if I owned any Alabama gear
January 11th, 2021 at 11:53 PM ^
Just the rest of the week??? What are you going to do the rest of your life?
January 11th, 2021 at 11:41 PM ^
Shows their utter lack of self-awareness. Eight point dogs to a dynasty and they didn’t just predict victory but huge victory. You have to love it.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:00 AM ^
That's some pretty serious departure from reality by 11W—I doubt Michigan beat writers would be that full of hubris.
All of which makes me enjoy the beatdown of the Bucks even more—there's nothing more crushing than being arrogantly confident of victory and then having your opponent rip both your arms off and beat the living shit out of you with them.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:05 AM ^
True that is not a good feeling. The 2018 game in Columbus taught me that lesson. By halftime.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:09 AM ^
The name of the site sums it up. They actually see their football team as warriors defending their state's honor, rather than, you know, guys playing a game.
January 12th, 2021 at 5:56 AM ^
Last spread before kickoff (whatever one ESPN displays) was Alabama -9.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:43 PM ^
The comments tho
January 11th, 2021 at 11:43 PM ^
Who cares? Ohio State losing in the national championship and being the second best team in the country doesn't make me feel any better about the state of Michigan football.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:51 PM ^
We were enjoying Ohio state getting blown out. Why did you have to muddy the waters by bringing up Michigan?
January 11th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ^
Because it's pathetic seeing fans of a team that won two games this season making fun of a rival who actually made it to the national championship and would've kicked the shit out of us. I watched the game and thought, damn, we would've lost by 10 touchdowns.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:02 AM ^
You trolls just can't keep your cover very long, can you?
January 12th, 2021 at 12:13 AM ^
Yeah I have a long history of trolling on here.
January 12th, 2021 at 1:13 AM ^
In our defense, many of us have a second favorite team and that team is whoever is playing Ohio State.
January 11th, 2021 at 11:55 PM ^
Who cares? I care. This has nothing to do with the state of Michigan football. This has to do with Ohio State humiliation.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:11 AM ^
I don't know, just being one of the two best teams sounds pretty good. It's not like any team was going to compete with Alabama who is fielding a Heisman trophy winning receiver, a Heisman finalist QB, and a Doak Walker award winning running back. It's not about rooting against OSU. I just don't understand creating post after post laughing at Ohio State losing in the national championship while we root for a team that could only hope to get humiliated in the Big 10 championship game at this point.
