Top Freshmen out of Fall Camp - a couple of surprises
Aside from the usual suspects, a couple of players who we haven't heard much noise about are on this list. DJ Turner, Mazi Smith, and Chris Hinton may find themselves as major contributors, at major positions of need, this season. That's what was needed out of this recruiting class.

I swear, that site puts out more fluff pieces than any other site on the internet.
Next Harbaugh presser will spawn at least 5 articles. Just take a quote and add a bunch of nothing around it.
I wonder if Sam Webb still does that "As I said (insert some day in the past)" thing to show how smart he is.

That's because on a corporate level they demand as many clicks as possible

It’s mainly Shaw and Henscke that do that and yes it is annoying as fuck. Shaw is especially awful because he puts such clickbait titles on his “articles.”

You should see the other team's sites. I think Michigan's 247 got worse once they acquired Scout, but it still pales in comparison to team sites like OSU's(they have a fake daily insider post which is just buckeye fanfic). We're a bit spoiled because Mgoblog doesn't put out content when there isn't much news, but so much of sports writing is based on clicks so they need to keep posting even if there's nothing to post.

I take it all with a grain of salt. Writers accentuate the positive, especially in college where the kids aren't professional athletes. That's why you'll never read an article about players coming into camp out of shape or having regressed because writers will never shame an amateur athlete like that. But I guarantee that every college program has kids that regress and don't show up ready to compete, including Michigan. You'll never read how Team A is being forced to start an unproven freshman because of injuries and that freshman really doesn't look ready to contribute at this level, just not the way this works.

Ojabo, Jackson, and Carpenter are three names that had solid camps too. Ojabo, kind of stands out from that group.

It's kind of crowded at DE. I presume Ojabo will just get his 4 games in and redshirt?

Probably a year away like Carpenter, but good news regardless.

Yes sir, good news, indeed! Thank you for your contributions!

Coaches are building great depth to reload at each position every year. The improvement in the program is real and provides a great foundation for the future.

That Ojabo news gives me some tingly feelings in various places

I hope you're right about Ojabo. One more player creating chaos in the backfield would be very nice.

I don't believe it. Rivals only had Ojabo at a 3 star coming out of high school

What surprised you about Ojabo? I kept reading that he’s an incredible athlete but very raw from a football perspective. Is there a certain area where you expect him to excel at this year?

Suggested new MGB THREADS:
“MGoBlog lists top ten thread topics; three of them you wouldn’t expect...”
“MGoBoard Lists Highest Clicks on it’s most popular threads; two of them are quite surprising”

You won’t believe what these 5 former Wolverines look like today
August 25th, 2019 at 9:37 PM ^
....and what makes you believe we haven't been down this particular rabbit hole already?
In all seriousness, there have been MUCH worse, even in the non-OT period.

This freshman class looks seriously special.
Mazi, Hinton, and Ojabo is an unbelievable DL base. Possibly the best OL class in a decade.
Star power with Dax, Zach, Sainristil, CJ.
Things are good in Ann Arbor.

So, the future is bright, then?

Need shades man.

247 is trash

We all know it's you, Chris

Is it just me or does the thread title makes it sound like there are a couple of surprise injuries?
