I like the cut of ESPN's jib.

I think I'm more impressed that you somehow figured out how to get a basketball emoji to show up in the thread title.
December 28th, 2018 at 12:20 AM ^
I thought same thing. Must have to do it from mobile. ??
EDIT: Yup.

We are usually on the bubble in bracketology at this point so this is an impressive start. I hope they didn't peak too early though!

#2 ranked team projected to get a 1 seed. Where exactly did you expect them to be projected? It's not even January.
I project Bama & Clemson will be in the preseason top 5 next August.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:22 AM ^
I will bet a sizable amount of money that neither Alabama nor Clemson will be in the top 5 next August (in basketball, which is what this thread is about)

No emojis for subs☹☹
December 28th, 2018 at 5:03 AM ^
that's nice

It's nice to be a projected 1 seed, but I tend not to pay too much to any singular projection. I prefer the Bracket Matrix, which compiles all the projections into one site - where Michigan is a 1 seed there as well. http://bracketmatrix.com/

After all, the best way to overcome bad data is to average bad data.
December 28th, 2018 at 10:57 AM ^
Unfortunately, that is also the best way to overcome good data.

We’re gonna win the B1G with a 16-4 record, on to a 1 seed in The Big Dance!
December 29th, 2018 at 7:12 AM ^
Yeah, I could see us losing 3 games in conference and still winning the Big Ten.
December 28th, 2018 at 8:49 AM ^
This has been the case since December 11.

???? 'em
But for real, how do the regions get decided? Selfishly I kinda hope UM goes to the east because then I could go watch at the Verizon center. Pretty sure that's the only chance that UM will play in DC this year, right?
December 28th, 2018 at 2:12 PM ^
The regions are generally decided by the interests of the respective teams (generally, closest distance to where the team is from). But within each seed line, preference is given to the team with the higher rank so they start with the #1 #1 and place them in their ‘ideal’ location, then the second #1 seed, etc. There are a bunch of other rules that can especially impact this as you get below the first seed line or two.
