OT: Michigan Cycling Team Kit Order
Hey all, there has been interest in these orders before, so I'm posting this on behalf of the club.
The Michigan Cycling team is a Club Sport who competes in the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference. Other teams in our conference include MSU, OSU, Notre Dame, Indiana, Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois, Case Western, Louisville, Northwestern, Cincinatti, Marquette, Miami (NTM), and a bevy of other small schools. Our conference also features a few schools that consider cycling a varsity sport including Marian and Lindenwood.
The kit order is once again live and this year they're added a couple more options.
These are the same exact uniforms that the team is currently racing in.
More information about the team can be found here: http://www.umcycling.org/
Prices do tend to run a bit high, but such is the nature of being a small fish in the big pond of paying university royalties and the like. Any proceeds go towards helping get team member's to races and most importantly nationals.
The order closes on November 9th, and the kits will be delivered to you in mid December, so perfect for Christmas!
Please note that because this is a custom order, there is no returns.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Possibly horrible attempt at a picture embed:

Hell yeah this is awesome. Thanks for posting the link! Got the "Great Lakes" alternates a couple years ago, wear that shit all the time.
Am I just blind or are there no shorts for men (other then bibs)?
October 31st, 2018 at 2:13 PM ^
Do you wear them at bars or when playing Xbox?
October 31st, 2018 at 2:24 PM ^
No, Pactimo does not offer men's shorts so we're stuck with bibs on that.
October 31st, 2018 at 6:49 PM ^
I didn't get the "Great Lakes" kit and very much lament it! That was bad ass.

That is an awesome jersey. Of course that was the jersey I wore when I had a spill on the last leg of a Tour De Cure ride out of Ann Arbor. I was lost in Gallop Park and biffed. I blame the heat; I was worried that I tore the jersey — it survived.

...but what's the WEATHER going to be for the game?!
Kidding aside, those are sweet if you're into cycling.

Welp, guess I know what I'm asking Santa for this year.

No winged helmet?
October 31st, 2018 at 2:20 PM ^
There was one company that used to make stretchy helmet covers with the winged helmet pattern on them. Sadly I can't find them anymore :(

About 20 years ago, when I was last a student at Michigan, I masked and painted yellow (not quite maize) wings and stripes onto the blue bike helmet I wore when riding around campus. The helmet had three channels running front to back that nearly touched at the very back and were perfect for the stripes. It turned out really nice and I got lots of comments on it, but it wasn't really the right kind of paint for the job and quickly developed some cracks and chips. Still have and love that helmet.

I've been looking for a blue helmet with 3 channels for just this reason... No luck on that either :(

Use tape -don’t paint it.

These are great. I have a set from about 4 years ago when it was Primal. Time to upgrade.
Thanks for posting!

If I'm just a casual cyclist is it douchey to wear this? I'm not being snarky. It looks awesome but if I'm barely moving down the windy street here in Chicago wearing this I might feel embarrassed.
October 31st, 2018 at 2:48 PM ^
I personally don't care ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Century LX jersey is less form-fitting so if I saw a casual cyclist wearing something like that I wouldn't even give it a second thought.
October 31st, 2018 at 4:17 PM ^
How casual are we talking? This is total overkill for the occasional 10 mile ride. 30+ miles and you'll want something like this though.

Thanks for posting this. I purchased a maize jersey, bib shorts and arm warmers this spring (the Pactimo ones) and I am very happy with the fit, performance and look. Probably going to purchase another set so thanks again. Love these.

Got this last year and both top and shorts were too small. Any advice on what to get that runs somewhat close to normal? Century LX?
October 31st, 2018 at 3:01 PM ^
Yes, the century LX will be less form fitting. Besides that a lot of people order a size bigger in the other lines.
October 31st, 2018 at 4:19 PM ^
Use a tape measure, and maybe measure while sitting down. There is a size chart.
October 31st, 2018 at 6:41 PM ^
Fat Bastard cyclist checking in... these are awesome but I do expect to have to order up like 2 sizes probably to get anything to fit.

Any suggestions for a late fall tire? I ride 23mm clinchers and haven't really ridden in late fall before. I live in the A2 area too and just ride paved roads - not cross. I have GP4000sii's but would rather ride something a little more durable in the cold/wet conditions.
Kit looks sweet.
October 31st, 2018 at 3:03 PM ^
I ride the Michelin Pro4 endurance on my training rides. No tread pattern but I've never had an issue on wet roads or a flat and it's long lasting
October 31st, 2018 at 3:06 PM ^
Awesome. I have been looking into those tires too. I will consider those
October 31st, 2018 at 3:22 PM ^
I ride year round on the same tires and like them very much. Weather in PDX is relatively similar to A2, less snow, but I don't ride much in the snow except in the hills on a nasty day:
S-Works Turbo 2Bliss Ready, 180 TPI, folding bead, BlackBelt Protection, GRIPTON compound, 700x28mm
October 31st, 2018 at 3:54 PM ^
I use the GP 4 Season tires, as I have some rougher roads where I ride. They have been great, very durable for the several years I have used them (2 sets over that time).
October 31st, 2018 at 5:35 PM ^
I always just used Conti Gatorskins and had good luck. They don't roll super fast and they aren't light, but I took one all the way down to the cords and never had a flat.
October 31st, 2018 at 6:28 PM ^
These kits are sweet! How form-fitting is the Breckenridge jacket? I'd like something for cold weather mountain biking and I typically wear a light "flak jacket" with rib and back padding under my shirt/jacket.
October 31st, 2018 at 7:23 PM ^
I might size up once. It's not super tight but If you want all your mobility that might be good.
October 31st, 2018 at 6:49 PM ^
Hey @XtraDurzzle thanks very much for posting this! Definitely interested and never would have known about it otherwise. And I really like the idea of supporting the team while getting some new kit.
December 1st, 2018 at 11:12 PM ^
Dang, I just came across this now as I was searching for the possibility of a Michigan kit in Zwift.
@XtraDurzzle, is there any way to get on an interest list for a notification next time?
Also, any other Zwifters out there?
