2000 Orange Bowl
I think this will cheer everyone up a little after that loss to Arizona. Since bowl games start soon i thought id upload a few bowl games. The 2000 Orange Bowl would become an all-time classic. The game would start completely in Alabamas favor but Tom Brady and the MVP David Terrell would shine in the second half hooking up three times for tds. Brady arguably played the best game of his career. The game would go to overtime where Michigan scored on the first play to make it 35-28. Alabama came back and scored a td for a 35-34 game. The game would end on a missed extra point giving Michigan the victory. Lets get out of a crummy 2013 and look forward to 2014. GO BLUE

Yes. Let's wallow in misery and be happy about nothing.
Wonderful.

... this seems to describe a large percentage of the Michigan fanbase pretty accurately.

Chittown2 or some other banned member?
Whoever you are there is probably a wife, maybe kids at home who matter more than posting on this website. Maybe you should spend some time with them and spare us all your conetrarian posts. You seem like an intellgient person, so rationally you should:
A. Move On

I don't remember Chittownblue2 being this negative about Michigan in general. Actually, I think what got him in trouble was that he took Brian to task for being pessimistic - or at least, that's how it seemed.

You're tired of reliving the good ole days, yet you clicked on a thread titled "2000 Orange Bowl" and then pissed on everyone's cheerios for reliving the good ole days. Why did you click on the thread again?

The reality is that Lloyd Carr's NC honeymoon was short-lived, as there was a great deal of bitching starting with the opening losses against ND and Syracuse in '98. The bitching never let up for the rest of his career, and reached a crescendo with Appy St. and Oregon in '07.
If MGoBlog had been around back then, I have no doubt you'd have been one of those moaning about how mediocre Carr was.
December 14th, 2013 at 5:13 PM ^
Anybody else remember the pathetic human beings who used to run an anti-Lloyd website, and then picket the games on Saturdays on a street corner where they'd be seen by the team buses as they went by on their way to the stadium? Want to say it was ~2001-2003.
The amount of sheer vitriol Lloyd got for going out there and winning games, championships, and the occasional bowl game never ceases to amaze.

Lloyd's 1997 team won the first MNC here in 49 years....
If Lloyd wasn't cutting it, I'd LOVE to hear your opinions about Bo....
I need some gutbusting laughter.

David Terrell was so great in that game. What a shame that he couldn't get it together in the NFL.

Damn never realized how many penalties this game had. Thks for the numbers as always
December 14th, 2013 at 8:45 PM ^
The second quarter was brutal -- I swear there had to have been at least four penalties in a row at one point. I was extremely hungover from the Y2K New Years Eve the night before (we raised hell the whole week down in Key West), but I managed to get it together to get our asses (about 10 of us) to Miami to watch the game. I know that sounds pathetic, but I really did have the mother of all hangovers that day. Thank God we won!

27 yards rushing on 23 attempts? That mediocrity with three NFL draft picks on the OL (LT, LG, C) plus an NFL draft pick RB? Maybe the opposition does get to have a say.
December 14th, 2013 at 7:33 PM ^
but the run wasn't working, so we focused more on passing the ball more. didn't stay stubborn. 2:1 pass to run ratio.

Shameless plug but I've been uploading all the 2011-2013 games in HD onto my youtube now that the T3 nazis are gone. WH-style edits.
Still have to finish 2011 & 2012.

Shows how programs constantly go up and down. We just gotta roll with the punches. Look where Bama is now. It's not unrealistic we could be there one day soon.
December 14th, 2013 at 6:24 PM ^
I think things will improve but we will be in a tough division. I hope sometime during the 3 year span of 2015 through 2018 we can at least win the B1G and get into the playoffs. Though, we may have a lot of 10-2 seasons where we come just a game short of winning our division!
I miss the days where we were picked as the favorites to win the big 10 and often we did!
December 14th, 2013 at 6:26 PM ^
This is my favorite Michigan game of all-time. I can still remember like it was yesterday, every detail surrounding the game, and being 7 years old watching with my dad when he missed that kick and when David Terrell caught the touchdown to end the half for that matter. The most influential Michigan game in my life.
So I love any excuse to watch it.

While we are at it, it would be great if you could post the 1902 Rose Bowl. Back when we were so great, they stopped playing football on New Years Day and switched to chariot races.

It blew my mind that the game was decided by a missed PAT. Just a crazy ending to a pretty fun game.
December 14th, 2013 at 8:34 PM ^
I was actually in Miami for that incredible game. I remember being vaguely concerned about the Y2K hysteria that morning (Jan 1st). Bama fans were pretty tolerable then--the ones in my section were gracious in defeat. They had Shawn Alexander that year, who was a great RB. Amazing ending.
