Artavis Scott to announce at The Opening
Will decide between Michigan, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Ohio and Central Florida.
Edit: Event takes place June 30 - July 3.
Ok more @TheOpening_2013 commitments - WR Artavis Scott (@ArtavisScott7) will announce from #Clemson #Gators #FSU #Michigan #Buckeyes #UCF
For some reason, it seems like people (including Ace) are thinking Clemson now.
Probably because he just came off a great visit to Clemson.
Once again, everyone everywhere is wondering what anybody sees in Dabo Swinney and Clemson.
Have you seen Sammy Watkins?!
It's not that hard of a pitch to a receiver, really.
If I'm a receiver with an offer from Clemson, I'm seriously considering the Tigers. Say what you want about him as a head coach, but Swinney can coach wide receivers.
Did he make random 3* guys into 1st round picks? Just asking, because I don't pay attention to Clemson's recruiting.
He took 2-star Aaron Kelly and turned him into a 1,000-yard receiver. He has also coached up guys like DeAndre Hopkins (1st round pick), Jacoby Ford (4th round pick), and Sammy Watkins (AP All-American as a true freshman).
but tay says he wants to win NC's and clemson is not even close to that point so i find it hard to believe that clemson made that much ground up already could be wrong but if he truly wants to win a NC he wont pick clemson
Michigan went 8-5 last year. Clemson went 11-2. If he truly wants to win a national championship, he probably shouldn't pick Michigan, either.
Commence your negging, everyone.
sorry if it sounded negative but i just feel mich is closer is all i meant plus they have more tradition i didnt mean to sound negging
and not overplaying an 11-2 season, but its the ACC... Strength of schedule is going to be considered in the new playoff system, which should usually result in few ACC teams making it
The Big Ten has not been a great conference over the past few years. No team has been good consistently, and Wisconsin - the best team over the last few years - was just so-so in 2012 and lost their coach.
so going 8-5 last year means you cant win a national title in the next five years.thanks magnus, i was unaware.
It went right over your head.
Chicks man
That's crazy. Clemson is in the least attractive part of SC. It reminds me of Grand Valley's Allendale campus. Surrounded by corn fields.
that would be a bit disappointing
Steve Lorenz seemingly as well
Good thing I doudble checked before hitting send on my thread.
I'm hearing/reading the same things about Clemson. It seems like they have made a surge in the recent weeks.
This doesn't seem to be good news. He had what seemed like a very good visit this weekend. It's not impossible that he chooses us, but I'm not very optimistic.
But I saw somewhere today that George Campbell was visiting us again with Mason and Scott so maybe good news? I hate when Clemson or Auburn is our head to head...
That news of them coming to the BBQ came out before this one.
Who knows if they make it to the BBQ with Mason Cole.
Maybe the writer talked to him last week? Maybe today... I'm hoping today but who knows. Campbell did say he was waiting to see when Mason was coming and Scott.
all going the way of the Tigers...
He has visited Michigan more than clemson or anyone else. I think it's Michigan, for one we have Mason Cole and two this comes not that long after we offered canteen and he is supposed to be coming for the BBQ.
i tend to be leaning this way to he wants to get his spot before canteen gets it cause canteen may not be far from committing and then what will scott do i think everyone is picking clemson because it was his last visit but i have to believe cole and the and the fact michigans class is filling up is why he is making his choice now i could be wrong though, plus mich is alot closer to a NC then clemson is and tay wants to win those
What enticed you to manage to read that incredibly painful run-on sentence all the way to the end? You're a better man than I am, and I commend you.
that a productive WR would want to move to a heavier running spread-oriented attack at Clemson - especially with Boyd done after this year.
Watkins and Hopkins have been very very good for Clemson and have solid stats, see plenty of balls thrown their way, etc
Not sure why some of you are surprised that Artavis has them in his top group, and presumed leader. Clemson's offense is not run heavy. Id say its pretty balanced. Id love to have Scott, but he'd fit perfectly in Clemsons scheme.
that those guys are great players but the dominant facet of the offense seems to be run-heavy remember seeing something saying 55/45 split but can't back that up) but I still see the attraction of playing there. I think it's an exciting program to be a part of.
My point was more with a top QB leaving after this year with little experience behind him. The numbers of Hopkins & Watkins will be harder to replicate with Boyd's replacements. The depth chart at QB seems shaky: LINK
Anything can happen, but Id be shocked if he Artavis goes anywhere other than Clemson.
Let's settle this? Here's their run play percentage:
2012: 54.10%
2011: 47.92%
2010: 50.00%
I'd say that they're about a 50-50 team.
But can I also say shut your whore mouth? Is saying that still a thing
They are bringing in the #1 QB recruit this year, I don't think Scott is sweating the QB situation.
starts this weekend
June 30-July 3
From the sounds of it, one more visit really could have gone a long ways. The fact that he feels compelled to do this before the BBQ looks more like a bad sign than a good one.
Looks like, barring any surprises, Freddy Canteen might be the guy.
Who cares?
Sorry.
Damn man, he was more or less making a joke. Chill.
looks like K J Williams is also headed elsewhere if you believe the latest from the crystal ball.
No offense to Canteen but he seems like a back-up, back-up plan (yes i know i Hoke we trust)
