Steve Lorenz: Looks like Jabrill Peppers is swinging for the fences going after five-star RB Leonard Fournette.

@justcoverblog No reason not to try to build on the momentum. Nothing to lose.

@justcoverblog It's the exact strategy Michigan should be taking right now.

For those who are not familiar with Fournette, he's the consensus top RB in the 2014 class, and the number one player in the nation according to 247's Composite Rankings.
The general consesus in the recruiting world is that Fournette is heavily favoring Alabama and LSU. I'd be shocked if he went anywhere other than those two schools, and even very surprised if we are able to get a visit. However, we have a lot of momentum, and if we can get him on campus anything can happen.
dig the long ball, so swing away I say
out of Louisiana. Why not give it a shot?
Might be a good recruiting tool, that fact.
I'm trying to stay positive and hope that the ghost of Curry Hallman and Gerry Dinardo still hangs out with Mike the Tiger.
it just has a different punchline.
Fred Jackson is from Louisiana too.
Internetz, we have a winner!
Fred Jackson thinks Fournette is underrated at #1.
Don't forget Dileo!!!
If he pulls this off (again I'll hedge this by saying I'd be absolutely shocked if he does), we could have the number 1, 2, and 3 players in the nation in this recruiting class. That would be insane.
That would be like the Fab 5 minus 2 and for futbawl.... Aspolde
One of the best classes EVAR?
and saw this little excerpt from a paywalled Scout posting (http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=162&f=1088&t=11612351)
"Fournette is asking Jabrill for his number in resonse to Jabrill's tweet of come join ..."
Crazier things have happened.
OMG....
Apparently he's also following Speight now too.
Not going to happen, hey, doesn't hurt to try. The impression I get is that Jabrill Peppers is just a 'swing for the fences' type of guy.
He's going to need it if he wants to win the Heisman as a freshman.
Well our D should be in the top 10 in the nation next year, so that'll help his case.
I remember another swing for the fences type of guy at Michigan (Spike/Kate)...
Maybe both situation will work out?
I get where you're coming from, but I remember this from my baseball days:
you won't reach the fences, if you square around to bunt.
Unless you're Fred Mother Fucking Jackson.
True story. I remember exactly that from my baseball days.
miss exactly 100% of every shot you don't take. Go get'em, Jabrill!
I get the concept, but really, if you don't shoot you just don't score. You don't necessarily miss.
I guess I'm that guy.
get the point, but what fun would a day be if I couldn't be a jack-off on the Internet?
I vote for "You can't make a shot you don't take."
Well then call Wayne Gretzky and discuss it with him.
you're that guy, but that's OK. I'm that guy sometimes, too.
I don't know about taking a running back in this class.

5 star depth at RB? Yes please....
Granted its a long shot, but here's guessing that Peppers does reel in a suprise stud for us with this type of attitude. Gotta love the passion for UM
Where do I place my $1 trillion bet that Fournette isn't coming to UM? Caesars? Thanks, guys. First round is on me.
He'll committ right after Ruben Foster.
