Where do the Boilers go? What did they do to deserve this?
November 19th, 2012 at 4:03 PM ^
You bastards.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:21 PM ^
They merged with Indiana. Now IUPUI
:-)

What happened to Purdue?

i actually like this
original big ten
new big ten
we could have two btns as well
but if we get rid of someone, it shouldn't be purdue
November 19th, 2012 at 4:13 PM ^
one of the crappy teams in the "too" division.
November 19th, 2012 at 3:59 PM ^
Man, Purdue got screwed.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:12 PM ^
I think you mean Purdue was saved.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:00 PM ^
I see what you did there
November 19th, 2012 at 4:02 PM ^
Has officially had an emotional breakdown.
I can only imagine what his thanksgiving conversations will be like.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:02 PM ^
By association with Notre Dame

Purdue: The Pluto of the B1G.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:06 PM ^
However, if we operating in the same metaphorical solar system that Brian is generating with his sun expanding comparison, then Purdue might not be in such a bad position right now.

OFF WITH YER HEAD PURDUE.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:03 PM ^
16 teams is whacked. This isn't even a conference anymore. Now, to get to the Rose Bowl you have to win your conference AND win a play in game with another conference.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:05 PM ^
Defeat the artist formerly known as the Big East
November 19th, 2012 at 4:07 PM ^
This! If the season remains at twelve games then you must win two conferences and then you will make it to a decent bowl game. For the team that loses in the Big 10 championship game their regular season means little.
Worse yet we may have more situations like last seasons national championship game. How would you like to be an LSU? You beat your rival in the regular season but it earns you nothing because you happened to lose to them in a more "important" game.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:06 PM ^
But they or Indiana need to go off to the East (or, in Delaney speak The Too division). After all, Nebraska is too west to play in the ,Too.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:10 PM ^
This will never happen, there is a Big Ten conspiracy against Penn State you know.
November 19th, 2012 at 5:21 PM ^
Wait, I thought there was a B1G conspiracy against MSU. Wait, that was the officials with the conspiracy. But, those are B1G officials. I'm so confused, arggghhh.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:07 PM ^
this is about the only thing left to hope for -- something that respects the historical BigTen (with Purdue included, somehow).
November 19th, 2012 at 4:09 PM ^
20 teams? No way, no how. mgoblog has lost its mind.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:09 PM ^
Hello, Brian. This is Armstead Cook. He is a freshman linebacker. And because of you he can't play in the Big Ten anymore. Shake his hand, Brian.
November 19th, 2012 at 9:34 PM ^
So so very good and well done.

All joking aside, assuming they find a reputable head coach, BC wouldn't be a terrible idea. Purdue to the ACC for BC and visitation rights to Danny Hope's mustache.
November 19th, 2012 at 5:24 PM ^
Whoa.... you just blew my mind.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:17 PM ^
Louisville will cheapen the brand. It obviously doesn't belong with the 19 other Big Ten schools. It would be a shame too after Purdue "took one for the team" and merged their football team with Indiana - Go Hoosier-Makers!
November 19th, 2012 at 4:55 PM ^
Louisville will cheapen the brand? The team that is currently ranked ahead of us in both football and basketball?
And Rutgers, somehow, does not?
Get fucking REAL, kid.
November 19th, 2012 at 9:32 PM ^
there is nothing funnier than when one guy makes a joke and another one not only thinks he is serious but has the audacity to cuss at them!!!
ha ha ha, I love the internet.

November 19th, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^
I believe Penn State just won the lottery. Even with recruiting restrictions, they'll still be in the top 3 of that division every year.
I'm not against Maryland joining, and Rutgers is whatever, but I will secede from the A/C Delco/AIG Big 21 if Louisville is involved.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
I just peed myself laughing.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:21 PM ^
What Brian is not telling you is that the winner of the championship game between those two ten team divisions then has to play Purdue to go to the Rose Bowl. This was Danny Hope's plan all along!
November 19th, 2012 at 4:22 PM ^
This fucking debacle may require it's own podcast
November 19th, 2012 at 4:25 PM ^
Who is Purdue?

November 19th, 2012 at 4:28 PM ^
To support Delany's manifest (MANBALLfest?) destiny, wouldn't we need to add Wyoming, Boise State, and Oregon State?
The B1G from sea to shining sea.
November 19th, 2012 at 5:29 PM ^
Not sure why we're self limiting. B1G should add Australian National University (ANU). MSU could give them a game in American rules football, but would get jobbed by the refs and lose a heartbreaker. Also, would be easier for Dantonio to recruit internationaly if he is already in Australia.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:28 PM ^
Strangely I want to punch this 20 team monstrosity in the face a lot less than just the Rutgers+Maryland bolt-on.
We'd play Wisconsin once every 15 years, right?
November 19th, 2012 at 4:32 PM ^
The goddam plane has crashed into the mountain.
November 19th, 2012 at 4:34 PM ^
