Favorite M Football Pics Thread - Historical Edition
The success (and front-page mention) of the last picture thread, which focused on pictures from the 2011 season, inspired me to start another - this time with pictures spanning as far back as Fielding H. Yost. Enjoy, and please post your own favorites!
Denard Xavier Robinson on the Deerfield Beach Packer Rattlers.
I stole one of your pictures. I needed a new Avatar...Pree-shate it homie
could be described as legendary from an early stage in his career
Wow, great work with the pics. David Molk looks like a little kid next to Jake Long. Also, someone needs to post the Bo-Woody shaking hands picture.
That's Lewan, by the way.
Not sure why I said Long, hopefully this means Lewan will be just as good and Long.
Priceless. That hit was so devastating that I'm surprised it wasn't preceded by a Herald of Galactus.
My three favorite pictures are 1) the above picture of Branch, 2) Woodson with the rose in his teeth and 3) the panoramic of Michigan stadium during UTL.
Thanks for leaving some pictures for us to post......
I now know why Leaf failed in the NFL. He could not successfully recover from the psychological damage resulting from his venture into Jurassic Park. While Charles Woodson thrived and was able to save Lex and Tim.
but I did find this posted by MaizeNBrew, by way of EDSBS and UniWatch, while I was searching for a 1969 photo I remember seeing somewhere.
Apparently these were painted in 1969, and there is a postcard for every major conference from that era, which are linked to on UniWatch. Also, yeah, some of the portrayals are (at least) kind of racist, but I guess that's 1969 for you.
Love it.
Pure gold, IMO.
That is one strange looking Tiger.
at least it has wings. That's more than anyone on MGoBlog can say about their appearance.
Harvard looks like a younger John Kerry
That's an interesting depiction of a "crimson."
I thought they'd just have someone with a sunburn.
Is the Buckeye in blackface? His arms are a lot lighter-complexioned than his face/neck.
Where is Charles' interception? Also, you could use a picture of the Mad Magicians.

Herm's wish is my command.
"'Mental attitude is as important as physical condition' Crisler tells his Michigan squad."
Also to please Herm...
One way (probably not the most efficient):
1) E-mail the pictures to yourself.
2) Open the e-mail on your iPhone
3) Tap and hold on the desired picture
4) Tap "Save Image"
5) In your camera roll, select the image and tap the icon in the lower-left corner that looks like a rectangle with an arrow shooting out.
6) Tap "Use as Wallpaper"
Why the one I took of course.
Desmonds Heisman Pose, The Catch vs ND, CWood with the rose in his mouth... EPIC. HA!L
I left out a couple I don't think anyone want to see again (i.e. The Horror)
Awesome post. Not football, but I can't resist:
That second article hurts my heart. I have not paid attention to preseason ranks since.
Scott Dreisbach to Mercury Hayes. Scoreboard reads 0:00 on the clock. 4th and 10 from the 15 yard line. Michigan down 12-17 to Ronde and Tiki Barber and the rest of the VA Cavs. (That's Ronde getting beat)

Can't figure out how delete one! Doh!
how hot it looks. Sweltering that day, not unlike today
At the time, it was the biggest comeback in UM football history.
He's got a foot and a half of grass left...and I thought it looked close on TV
