OT: Friday Afternoon "Whatcha Doing?" Open Posbang Thread
Its that time again, time for the weekly "Whatcha Doing" open thread. Let us all know what you're up to this afternoon and this weekend. Anything exciting going on out there?
Me, I'm actually getting some real work done today, earning my below-market-value salary. That and trying to buy a new car because we've outgrown our old one.
I love negotiating with car dealerships but I feel bad for the salespeople because they clearly have absolutely no say in the sale/purchase. Everything goes up the ladder through the sales manager and the salesperson has to deal with all the upsetment when I hear their bullsh-t counteroffer price. Buying a new car is one of the most ridiculous processes. Just give me a price that you cannot go below and I'll take it. Stop trying to outsmart me because I negotiate for a f-ing living.
Anyone purchased a new Honda Pilot recently? If so, what did you pay for it?
So that's my afternoon. Pretty exciting, eh? To spicen things up, posbang me. <bending over>
And it felt so good. You all should try it some time.
...posbangs him or herself from time to time.
I hear it's good for the prostate.
Hey, gotta keep those pipes clean. Thanks to Kate Upton and some certain sites, my pipes are squeaky clean.
How's your eyesight?
I'm as blind as a bat, and my palms are hairier than those wolfboys from Mexico.
I know we don't know each other well, but I just posbang'ed you.
And I kind of liked it.
Well, it felt good. Sometimes my finger gets sore from posbanging myself so its nice to get a little break once and a while.
Just finished clinic. Waiting on lunch from Jason's deli. Checking MGoBlog for the first time in like 4 hours... that's a long fricking time for me...
Not looking forward to an afternoon of charting. Maybe I'll posbang myself.
Headed to the lab to do some hormone assays. Yay for handling large amounts of human saliva and hours of repetitive pipetting!
I like to go through these threads & upvote anyone working on research ... unfortunately for me you've already hit 5. Next time.
I'm pretty sure it keeps track of posbangs and negbangs below -1 and above 5 and just doesn't show them. I say this because I've occasionally gone the opposite way and not seen any effect.
How are you both affiliated with Michigan and the other respective schools? I go to Florida for grad school, but my allegiance stays with the undergrad. That's not to say I don't partake in college football Saturdays in Gainesville...
UVA is my undergrad. I have no affiliation per se with U-M except that my dad raised me as a U-M fan from way small times. Been watching Michigan football since I was five or so and it's as ingrained as any of the other local teams.
Wal-Mart Wolverine.
I didn't realize that you never attended (NTTAWWT). Cool story, bro!
Wal-Mart Wolverine.
And proud of it. Why not? I even had "It's great to be a Wal-Mart Wolverine" in my sig until Darius Morris told some Sparty hoopster where to go. I did get into Michigan during my undergrad round of applications, but I knew where I absolutely wanted to go to school within 10 minutes of arriving in Charlottesville. So like every good Sparty, I chose not to go to Michigan. U-M returned the favor when I applied for grad school, so I guess we're even.
Good stuff! Charlottesville is definitely a beautiful campus and has a similar feel to Ann Arbor. We played in the annual law school softball tournament a few times and had a few interesting experiences with the undergrad co-eds there. Good times.
Yeah I understand ... I'm at Wisconsin working towards a PhD, so I get to soak up the atmosphere & enjoy it when the Badgers do well, but it sure doesn't bother me when they lose. I went to a small college for undergrad, but my career really got started at Michigan where I worked as a lab tech in MCDB for a year & a half. I don't feel too Wal Mart-ish about it because my family history is absolutely packed with Michigan degrees & employment, including everyone in my immediate family & going back through the generations.
There's a reason I basically ruled out attending another Big Ten school.
Yes, but was it a double rainbow?
I will describe my work from left to right - there is a stack of Continuous Improvement items which I need to update and send downtown, then a pile of service requests from which I need to generate some work orders. Moving to the dual-screen Dell computer, on one screen there is a process flow in Visio, and then on the other screen is MGoBlog. Beyond that, there is a phone with no messages on it (thankfully), and a stack of things I did in fact do this morning, not the least which would be yearly evaluations.
Ah, a fellow Lean follower it sounds like?
Keep studying until your eyeballs fall out.
That is a murderous test. It has no soul.
I think you're getting your phases out of order. Pass medical boards first, then profit, then golf.
Just finished some Exercise Epidemiology hw, stil got to do some Ex Phys hw. After that I will hopefully be closing on an apt, and then either golf or get drunk(?).
either golf or get drunk
or?
and/or
Better?
Maybe he's trying to work on his golf game. I, for one, SUCK at golfing buzzed/drunk.
Strangely, my game improves (which is saying almost nothing).
Why not both?
EDIT: Damn... missed it by THAT much!

Finished up some errands/preperation stuff. Now just about to start relaxing for the rest of the day and getting ready for the MCAT tomorrow.
/ohshitohshitohshit
Good luck tomorrow!
We need more MGoMDs here to even out the MGoJDs and MGoMBAs, I think.
There are a bunch of MGoMDs. Most are working, however.
I'm just waiting for my freaking patients to fill out all their new patient paperwork.
Thanks! I will do my best to help even the MGoProfessionRatio.
I don't think there are all that many lawyers. Unfortunately, all the schooling and learning we go through basically teaches us to have opinions and counter-arguments about everything and it takes all we have not to comment on every single thing.
I, for one, rarely comment, never argue, and have no opinions on any subject.
Clusterf*ck
...
commence.
If the MCAT thing doesn't go well, you don't have to be a brain surgeon to practice law, as amply evidenced by the comments on this blog. (It helps to be rude and condescending, however.)
C'mon. We have to keep a unified front!
I think your opinion is wrong, but I'll refrain from commenting further, because I have no opinion.
...or at least in training.
Avoid caffeine starting....now!
Go run. Go workout. Go get laid. Burn all your MCAT sh*t right now!
Put beer in the fridge, tequilla/rum/vodka in the freezer.
Get the lube ready because you will feel chafed afterwards.
Start hitting the bottle. It will help with the slow, sinking feeling you will have afterwards. Doesn't matter if you get a 28 (first attempt) or a 33 (second attempt). You will always feel like you did sh*tty.
