Former Wolverine Mike Cammalleri Pulled Mid Game
In a strange situation to say the least... The Montreal Canadian's Mike Cammalleri was pulled off the ice, and sent to the team hotel Mid-game tonight.
Reports are that Cammalleri was sent to the team hotel to "wait further instructions." Wednesday Cammalleri made some questionable remarks regarding the team they included: "We prepare for our games like losers. We play like losers. So it's no wonder why we lose"

Edit: Reports coming out he has been traded. In a very classless act the Canadian's sent him to the hotel via taxi.
Edit 2: Report traded to Calgary for Rene Bourque (See links below). Thanks guys.

Just heard about this while watching the Wings game, Ken Daniels brought it up.

and still...no one cares about the nhl

more people care about the NHL in this state than the NBA.

No one cares about you.

Barking up the wrong tree, pal.

...dude.

Disfunctional organization the Habs are. Firing coaches hiring ones that dont speak French...in Montreal of all places.

I hate to say it, but sending him to the hotel in a cab seems about right given what he said about the organization. He should have kept that in house.

You can only deal with disfunctional coaches for so long

Who says he didn't say something to his coaches/team first?

Maybe he has in practice

As a veteran of 500+ NHL games, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt... I think he's earned the right to speak up when no one inside the organization seems to be listening.

well that comment didn't gain him much, Calgary has only 6 more points than the Canadiens. Sounds like there is some validity to his statement though.

fuck the habs. mike deserves better than them. i just hope the wings dont have to face him in the playoffs.
also, how about that peter forsberg special from hank Z tonight in the shootout? some goal huh?

Thing of beauty, 13 in a row at home is pretty nice as well.

It was a perfect way to clinch the game, pending Howie's final save. I have to think Z has been waiting for a long time to break out that move...worked to perfection.

Well, he probably got his wish. Shame since Montreal had two U-M guys (Pacioretty), but if he wasn't happy there, probably best he got moved.

We are run no better than Columbus. Seriously. He deserves better than us - though Calgary is a very questionable better.
Pathetic. The return is average at best - Bourque is bigger and cheaper. But pulling him mid-game vs your biggest rival, down 2 in an even game??? Christ next thing you know we'll higher Tressel to run our power play.
Very sad to see a Wolverine leave, especially Camms (though he was having a horrible year).
Here's hoping Pateryn and Bennet pan out.

Montreal did not get the better end of this deal.

So happy I can acknowledge his existence again (Bruins fan here). I was sort of shocked that he was traded since he was one of the Habs's best player, but I can understand why they'd want to bring in a francophone underachiever. Just so you all know, the Habs would've gotten buzzsawed whether Cammalleri stayed in the game or not.
Best of luck to Mike in Calgary where he started his career.

Roy is a jackass IMO but wasn't he treated about the same?
Cammy was supposed to go home to play for the Leafs before this Montreal deal. I wanted so much to see him in Toronto.
