Matt Dorsey and use of the terms "top programs"
As I was reading the Freep web page today, I came across this statement:

A few months ago, Davis was waiting for his first offer. Now he's garnered offers from some of the top programs in the nation, including Michigan State, Iowa, Wisconsin and Kansas.
Top Programs?
Since Carl Davis is a 6"5 300 lbs DT does Michigan have any interest at all?
END TRANSMISSION.
need to hear about him getting contact lenses?
They really love that eye doctor story. What breaking news will be next: Mallett transfers to Arkansas? Drew Henson decides to play baseball full time?
at the spring game. Boy they are just digging for anything.
Those "Evony" advertisements are starting to creep me out. "Play now, my Lord?" I'll pass.
those four schools most people would consider solid programs. Top 30ish, give or take. All in the upper half of their conferences for the most part. All with good coaching staffs in place, though lot of posters around here think Beliema's [sp?] overmatched. I'm still in wait-and-see on that call, and giving Alvarez the benefit of the doubt.
Bottom line, I don't think Dorsey's implying "elite" here. Good for the kid, going from no offers to solid Big 10 and Big 12 program interest. Have not heard of a Michigan courtship.
