ACE: Jordan Payton Annoucing on Tuesday
Per Tim Sullivan, who posted this info on The Fort ($, also front-paged on The Wolverine, but still behind a paywall), Oaks Christian (CA) WR Jordan Payton will announce his college decision on Tuesday. He's visiting Notre Dame for the USC game this weekend, but has maintained throughout the last several weeks that Michigan is his leader, and there has been no indication his stance has changed. Barring a last-minute change of heart, it looks like the Wolverines will finally have a wide receiver in this class, and a very good one at that.

This is the opposite of cryptic TomVH post...what's the word on your chances in South Bend?

ND has really cooled on Jordan Payton. They're not recruiting him very hard.
They already have 3 receivers and they think they have a better shot at Nelson Agholor and Bryce Treggs.

I thought Payton is backing out on his ND visit.

If only "smug" were an option under the 'moderate' tab: then we could let you know how you're doing.
October 18th, 2011 at 7:22 PM ^
ratio of smug to whatever is something funny and opposite of smug is 35 to 31

I've seen them somewhere before ... can't quite place it. Huh, oh well.

5 stars go to bust?
October 18th, 2011 at 11:36 PM ^
yeah.. ummm... Floyd is probably the best WR in college football right now..
October 19th, 2011 at 3:09 AM ^
One out of -- how many? Really?

touche, but then I remembered to look back at the last 6 years of Notre Dame vs Michigan ;)
October 18th, 2011 at 6:10 PM ^
I don't see how a receiver would want to go to ND after watching Kelly react with his WRs. I'm hoping we're in a good position on Tuesday!
October 18th, 2011 at 7:22 PM ^
Because Golden Tate and Michael Floyd dominated college football for the past few years at Notre Dame.... I wouldnt mind going there if I was a WR....
October 18th, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
Ummm.....Michael Floyd would have been a dominant WR regardless of his college choice. ND didn't make Floyd a good WR.
October 18th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
Nor did it make him a good driver.
(too soon?)

Great post

you win today.. hands down
October 18th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
With Heisman trophy-winner Brady Quinn throwing to him, setting the stage for Clausen's 4 national championships.
October 18th, 2011 at 6:11 PM ^
We had two commits on the night of the Notre Dame game. Dymonte Thomas and a silent.
October 18th, 2011 at 6:14 PM ^
Remember when we had recruits coming two by two? Hopefully we land a speedy receiver to compliment this posession receiver.
October 19th, 2011 at 1:44 AM ^
Well if Dunn visits Purdue weekend we may have 2 in 1 week. Although it isnt the position 2 by 2 we saw earlier in the summer. However, this is just pure desire not really going on anything aside from the fact they may stop by.
October 18th, 2011 at 6:21 PM ^
Am I missing something? Is he announcing this evening or in a week?
October 18th, 2011 at 6:28 PM ^
Hence the ND vs USC visit
October 18th, 2011 at 6:37 PM ^
Should we buckle up yet?
October 18th, 2011 at 6:37 PM ^
Buckle up time?
October 18th, 2011 at 6:38 PM ^
great minds think alike
October 18th, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
.. why are the "buckle-up" posts instantly deemed overrated. That is one of my favorite mgoblog phrases, that was a crazy day ha.
Also on other note, help us out Ace, give us a little cryptic love even if it is clear and obvious. Let us play along. haha

Hello:Payton followed by Hello:Armstead :)
October 18th, 2011 at 6:52 PM ^
We'll see if he visits first.
October 18th, 2011 at 6:54 PM ^
Party pooper lol but it would be great pull two plus already committed magnuson from west coast
October 19th, 2011 at 1:47 AM ^
So the 2 by 2 has been Michigan/Ohio.....would the neutralization for Cali be Florida or Texas?
October 18th, 2011 at 6:55 PM ^
Cali Swaggg
Snatchin' yo USC de-commitments up
October 19th, 2011 at 9:02 AM ^
Wasn't it Payton that said he and a group of highly rated west coast kids would all commit to the same school saying "kinda like the Fab-5"?
October 19th, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^
We can take Payton since they took Ronald Johnson a few years ago.

too much away, but basically, coaches visiting Dunn this week since they are out recruiting and that Dunn might be at the Purdue game.

gave away the whole post by VH
October 18th, 2011 at 9:16 PM ^
it was a very short post lol
October 18th, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
I cant wait til the OSU week, anyone know whos visiting for the OSU game?
October 18th, 2011 at 8:01 PM ^
It's more like who isn't visiting that weekend.
October 18th, 2011 at 7:02 PM ^
Another note is that if Payton were to commit, it would give us a connection to one of the most prolific high school football programs in the country.
October 18th, 2011 at 7:07 PM ^
high school as Jimmy Clausen and current USC RB Marc Tyler.

People down here in Charlotte aren't laughing too hard about Jimmy Claussen. Can you say "wasted draft pick"?
October 18th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
We Lions fans got quite a lot of practice with that phrase when he who must not be named was pulling wide receivers (and their bongs) etc.
October 18th, 2011 at 10:24 PM ^
Nick Montana and Casey Matthews (Eagles LB).
October 18th, 2011 at 7:10 PM ^
Hopefully we will get some great news on Tuesday to give us something positive to talk about over this interminable 2-week period between games.
October 18th, 2011 at 7:23 PM ^
Very true. A Payton commit and a Purdue win to put us at 7-1 would do a lot to swing morale.
