Beilein points at things, too.

Arena looks incredible. Can't wait to see some games there.
TH3 looks jacked. This is going to be an exciting season.

From how it looked before. This is a HUGE upgrade and I think puts Crisler on par with some of the better basketball arena's anywhere.

Crisler looks BRAND NEW....another great Upgrade....Brandon is really
on Fire

This is still Bill Martin's project.
September 7th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
The initial planning began under Martin, but the actual renovations have been supervised by Brandon. They both can get some credit.
September 7th, 2011 at 3:58 PM ^
Of course it's being supervised by Brandon. But the planning, bean-counting and necessary politicking to get the job done were Martin. DB takes credit for enough.

They wouldn't let us inside the arena from the concourse, but the doors were all wide open. What an amazing difference. It easily falls somewhere between wow and spectacular.

The players look like it's Christmas all over again. Good for them.

There's also a video report at mgoblue.com that can be found here.
And here are a couple other photos that were posted at the Michigan Basketball Facebook page:

Can someone less ignorant tell me what has been changed? I noticed the floor, the scoreboard, and new engravings on the seats. What else is new?
September 7th, 2011 at 9:44 AM ^
- The flooring and walls in the bowls were all repainted
- Handrails were installed in the aisles and I believe the aisles were widened
- The seats themselves have all been replaced and now have cup holders
- All the seats are blue
- Seating for people with disabilities was expanded
- New tunnel connects to the Player Development Center
It should be noted that this is just the first phase of the Crisler renovation. The concourse will be overhauled in the next phase.

Uhhh... isn't the scoreboard TOO LOW????
If someone wanted to throw a baseball, sideline-to-sideline pass -- won't it bounce off the scoreboard? It looks just incredibly low.
Are there NCAA or USA Basketball rules about that sort of thing?
September 7th, 2011 at 9:57 AM ^
I was at a talk given by DB a few weeks ago and he mentioned that the Crisler scoreboard wouldn't be completed until October I believe, so they may still be working on it and will put it in its final position later.
September 7th, 2011 at 10:03 AM ^
Could be one of two things.
1. perspective makes it look lower than it really is
2. may be lower for the time being with the plan to raise it up to a more official height once reno is done
September 7th, 2011 at 10:02 AM ^
the scoreboard has been lifted up yet in this picture....and this is a huge overhaul on Crisler
September 7th, 2011 at 10:38 AM ^
I assume you meant "hasN'T"? Unfortunately confusing typo.

Not sure if I'm looking at this right, but it looks like the maize rage bleachers have been moved to the west side? If so, I hope the TV cameras will be moved to the east side? It's great to have the Rage in the background as the ball moves up/down the court ... maybe they'll still show up OK with the new configuration, but I'm not sure???
September 7th, 2011 at 11:22 AM ^
Everything's been/will be flipped from one side of the court to the other, so the overall configuration is still the same.
September 7th, 2011 at 11:24 AM ^
Look at the configuration of the Block M in the middle of the floor, cameras will be positioned to look at it correctly, and the bleachers are behind it.
Fears averted!
September 7th, 2011 at 11:34 AM ^
I didn't notice the flipped M. All is good.
September 7th, 2011 at 8:03 PM ^
I see the bleachers on the right side of the picture, but what is on the left side all closed up, aren't those bleachers as well?
Also what side will the benches and scorer's table be on?
September 7th, 2011 at 9:02 PM ^
Yes, there are retractable bleachers on the left side, which have been, well, retracted.
The benches and scorer's table will be on the right side. As I posted above, everything is/will be flipped. That picture above is taken from the end that has the old tunnel. So in the previous configuration, the benches and scorer's table were on the left side.

Damn, Cronin has really packed on some pounds.
September 7th, 2011 at 11:49 AM ^
And MGOBLUE.COM on the court? WTF
September 7th, 2011 at 12:04 PM ^
It makes me really happy to see that cronin is still involved with the team.
September 7th, 2011 at 12:19 PM ^
and by the looks on their faces, the players agree with me.
Vogrich looks like he has been in the weight room a few times.
