NCAA 12 demo now running for 360
Looking forward to trying it out when I get home.
I was throughly impressed. Made a lot of great changes and you really have to pay attention to the defenses this year
Is this updated w/ the new schemes for michigan or will we have to wait another year for that?
Custom playbooks let you do whatever you want with Michigan's offense.
these demo versions only feature 4 teams. i think its texas vs oregon, and alabama vs florida state.
From what I have read, you can run out of Shotgun, the Zone Defense is good now, and there are no more Air Jordan LBs. Combine that with it containing Dilithium and the ability to change your playbook to take advantage of dilithium and it should make for a very good game.
Air Jordan LBs?
air jordan + LB = what part of this can't you figure out.
Linebackers who can leap ridiculously high into the air for picks and deflections.
a fucking all-pro safety.
By far the most frustrating aspect of last year's game.
They wouldn't even be looking at the QB or the ball but would leap 40 feet in the air at the right moment to deflect your passes. Ugh.
Running out of the shotgun would finally work once we switch to a pro-style offense. Not that it really matters, but that made me really mad last game.
I actually found last year's game to be pretty accurate. The only way I could sustain a rushing game using the spread option was to run Denard on the QB keepers in Miss. St.'s playbook. Kind of sad in retrospect that an aspect of the EA Sports game that was considered "broken" mirrored what was going on out on the field somewhat accurately.
Linebackers still occasionally do it but looks liek they toned that down a little bit
For those who have Xbox, you can put it in your queue remotely:
Also, checking out reviews, it actually looks pretty promising. It seems as if EA has really done a better job overall, not perfect but it seems to be more promising than the videos indicated.
That works if I can remember my liveid.
this is perfect. now i can actually figure out if the gameplay is THAT much better than 11.
Is there a remote download for when it comes out for the ps3?
im not sure, but would you really want to risk it??? chances are, you'll end getting hacked...
You make convincing argument, sir/madam
A convincing argument. Can't edit on mobile
Looks like I'll be downloading the PS3 version when I get home. Can't wait to try it out. Definetly changes Mich playbook when the game comes out
The demo is up for PS3 now as well. They haven't added it to the front page yet, but you can find it by typing in "ncaa 2012" in the search bar.
I am most excited for the coaching carousel and the whole offensive and defensive coordinator additions to the game. Hopefully they did a few tuneups to the recruiting, because it gets really stale quite quickly.
I think this is OT, since Michigan is not in demo. If anyone is intrested in playing in a online dynasty leave your 360 GT.
I think people on this site care way too much about what is OT and what isn't OT.
Who cares? You can't tell by reading the title whether something is OT or not?

I don't know about Player Ratings, but they did release the achievements list.

Is it just me or is that picture RR?
I lol'd at "On second thought- Edit a division name of a conference". I understand that no one will care about leaders/legends in a few years, but who seriously thought those were a great idea?
you can now play both ways in campus legend mode, at least in high school. seems like a fun new wrinkle.
Yea, you play both ways in high school and you can play a full season. You get rated on both positions and you get to choose which you'd like to go with.
There is also some speculation that you might be able to take your RTG player to the coaching carousel, which would be really cool.
I really hope they fix option pitching in this edition. I wanted to run a Navy-style triple option attack, but the pitching mechanics were so bad that usually the running back would completely miss the ball, and their would be a fumble in the backfield. Hated that a lot.
that you have to have a gold membership in order to download this.
I'm fairly impressed. It seems that blocking has improved a lot. The new tackling is good, no more olympic high jump linebackers is nice, and the game looks beautiful.
Linebackers are not Jordan
The Blocking is so much better
Alabama sacks the QB on every play
Corners still bite
The commentary is still the same
Glad i get these games for free because it is not worth the $65
Reason to purchase it.....MICHIGAN
MANBALL
GO BLUE!!
maybe if you keep bragging about how free the game is for you they'll start PAYING you to own it!
I am sorry Kewl Dood and have called my buddy and told him not to bother sending it to me because it hurt a Mgoblogger's feelings. I went out and pre-purchased it at Game Stop...you're welcome.
If you watch the 'Game Improvements' preview video, Denard is running through a number of tackles while Herbie explains that you actually have to have a line on a tackle based on the new mechanics
I will be playing NCAA 06 on my PS2 this year... Not joking. After dynasty progression being broken in last years game, they will not be getting my money on 2012. Maybe next year EA.
I played a couple of games last night. It looks good visually, but IMO only marginally better than last year. They seem to have spent an awful lot of effort on the pre-game presentation for each team, which is nice but mostly fluff.
The blocking and tackling definitely seemed more realistic. But I was able to get 7 sacks on All-American playing agains Texas. With 2 minute quarters. Something's definitely wrong with the CPU's line protection and will need to be tweaked.
I hadn't heard about the Road to Glory changes. These actually sound really good. It will be fun to play through and entire high school season. I hope you can change quarter lengths in that mode because that was annoying in the past.
I agree about progression in Dynasty. Are we sure it wasn't tweaked?
Other things that will justify for me the added expense: coaching carousel, custom playbooks, dilithium dreads streaking through decimated OSU defense.
The progressiom was fixed this year.
EASports is releasing videos for each conference about the player ratings for NCAA Football 12. Below is the link for the video:

We start around the 2 minute mark. Here are the overall ratings:
