Go check out his Rose Bowl vlog - his highlight edit is probably the best I've seen, which is incredibly impressive because it was made by a star player.

We will also be posting a…

We will also be posting a reveal of the rankings as a video series via @themichiganpage on Instagram, on top of having a countdown series on here and the final video.

Edit: Just 3 more volunteers needed!

I feel like both of those…

I feel like both of those options are awful and only bring on more jokes and scrutiny.

I don’t think there’s really a right way to handle this - as far as I can imagine - not that Gattis said the right thing by baselessly attacking UM for no reason.

They are ordered completely…

They are ordered completely randomly this time around!

Plus, 24/25 plays in the top-25 were from those games already :)

VOTING HAS CLOSED. PLEASE DO NOT VOTE ANYMORE.

Trente was better than…

Trente was better than Karsen this year, and also projects much better in the NFL with his athleticism. Makes sense to me.

He did get got 3 times in…

He did get got 3 times in the National Championship. Two coverage busts that allowed for deep down field completion opportunities to Odunze and a PI on McMillian.

But yeah, in general, I don't agree with those comments either.

Yeah, that’s a fantastic…

Yeah, that’s a fantastic point.

Will see if that’s possible for the next poll. Thanks for the recommendation!

These rankings are going to be REALLY tough, and so I appreciate anyone who participates. As many of you have said below, it will seem quite impossible, and it will only get harder once we get closer to 100. For what it's worth, I rewatched the highlights for all 15 games and came up with 255 candidates for top-100. Just an insanely impressive season.

There might be better ways to reach a consensus, so suggestions are welcome.

But this is a fun little way to waste some time (at work) as we continue to relive the path to our championship and wait until spring ball arrives.

EDIT: As there have been over 100 voters already, I will now randomize the list order to see if it makes much of a difference. While a preset list is easier, it also contains more bias.

Feel like this should maybe…

.

I do think it is important…

I do think it is important to note that Penix didn't throw a duck on his first interception to Will Johnson. It was tipped by Jenkins. Should have a +2 for that at the very least.

Mikey also would've scored…

Mikey also would've scored had he not cut back!

Both Harrell and McGregor…

Both Harrell and McGregor failed to block 37 running past them.

Also, Sainristil definitely did not have to cut back - had he kept running he would've easily been able to get around the Washington OL who was also being blocked by Sabb.

Really was an easy TD if any one of those 3 things happened. Good thing is that it got Blake another 1-yard TD - which is fitting since that's been our staple all year long!

Not even close. The guy…

Not even close.

Trente would have been a 6th year senior. Hinton was a junior - one who would have gotten usurped by Mazi Smith and Kris Jenkins the next year anyway. Using that example sort of shows you have no idea if this is a "bad business decision" or not.

Posters here criticizing a dude that just balled out for not coming back for college as a 24-year-old is insane to me.

I think it should be…

I think it should be entirely resume to determine the top 4.

And then within the top 4, you incorporate power along with resume to make the matchups fairer for the teams that deserve it.

For example, if we're #1 we shouldn't get matched up with Georgia because that would be unfair.

I don't even think you…

I don't even think you should be using Alabama as a default example here. There is real doubt whether Alabama is even one of the four BEST teams.

I'm confident that UGA, UM, OSU, and Oregon would all be favored over Bama.

I did my own extrapolation…

I did my own extrapolation from Vegas odds yesterday and this is what I got in the order of most favored to least favored:

Georgia (-2) over

Michigan (-1) over

Oregon (-0.5) over

Ohio St (-2.5) over

Alabama (-3) over

Texas (-4) over

Washington (-3) over

Florida State

Edit: This also involves some educated guessing, so it's not an exact science, to be clear.

Yup. If we’re talking…

Yup. If we’re talking strictly highlights, the past three seasons have seen them decrease year-by-year.

I made a video following the 2021 regular season compiling the fan-voted-top-20 plays of the season, and Mikey’s incredible one-handed TD vs Maryland was only an honorable mention because there were so many highlights that year.

2022 saw not many highlights outside of PSU, OSU, and TCU.

In 2023, I can barely think of 5 that stand out throughout the entire season.

Great thing is that our team has gotten so much better. Can’t wait for the playoffs.

Here is the link to the 2021 fan-voted top plays, if anyone is interested:

The brief is supposed to…

The brief is supposed to come from the perspective of alum/fans, and so naturally it’s not going to be more compelling than other arguments, including the diaries and OP’s recent argument that was used by Mars.

It’s simply adding an additional perspective to what is already out there.

I mean, there’s just so many…

I mean, there’s just so many arguments against this.

Eg. Has one vote ever changed the result of an election? Why do we still vote then?

Last two plays of the game…

Last two plays of the game on defense were made by McBurrows and Gemon's twin bro, German.

Sweet justice.

The rooting interest for…

The rooting interest for Iowa vs Wisconsin is intriguing.

While Wisconsin losing would decrease Ohio State's tiebreak chances, it increases Penn State's via Iowa winning.

The more important factor, IMO, is that Wisconsin losing to Iowa also likely means they've got no chance vs Ohio State. We want Wisconsin to be good enough to beat Ohio State in Madison.

Best scenario is probably for Wisconsin to look really good, but lose because of Iowa things.

Minturn literally just spray painted her initials on the sidewalk. That is not an offense deserving of an explusion, especially if she could easily argue she got carried away and had no idea that was the Jewish Resource Center.

FPI is by far the worst …

FPI is by far the worst "analytical" measure but 62% and 70% aren't far off what most predictive measures had given the previous 11 games of each season - I would say it even favored Michigan more than most analytics did.

Nevertheless, there are many other reasons for it being flawed.

I'm pretty sure this is just…

I'm pretty sure this is just his work so far this season! He's been good.

Seems like you like to use…

Seems like you like to use revisionist history to make certain arguments.

I think the Gattis argument is easy to make, even without hindsight. But Juwan’s National Coach Of The Year was legit, and absolutely should be part of someone’s argument in favor of him. He’s obviously capable of great things, it’s just that we don’t know if it’ll happen again.

This idea that Milton throws…

This idea that Milton throws a ton of interceptions kinda speaks to the bias Michigan fans have against him.

i think he’s thrown like 4 his entire career and hasn’t thrown one since 2020. 12-0 TD to INT ratio at Tenn.

Crazy observation:

Crazy observation:

22 out of the 25 teams ranked in the AP Preseason Top-25 have worse rankings in comparison to their position in the final CFP Top-25. The only three teams that have risen are UGA, UM, and USC.

15 out of the 25 have dropped entirely out of the rankings.

Which sections are the …

Which sections are the "upper-level Michigan sections?"

Yes, not a parallel analogy…

Yes, not a parallel analogy, but the analogy was about perception and not what the percentages mean. But the point is that with any two players in identical systems, schemes, and personnel, the difference in their distribution of outcomes isn't going to deviate too much with that large of a sample size.

Also, part of the reason for such "small" differences is that there are many categories of lengths of runs. For example, if you were to combine several of those categories, the difference would be more stark. If Corum was like 10% ahead in each of the 1-3, 4-7, and 8-20 yard categories, it would mean that his distribution of 1-20 yard runs was 30% higher than that of Edwards, which would be insane. So small differences here makes sense.

That's why I said that the fact that Corum leads across all of those "short-but-efficient yards" categories proves what we've all been thinking.

It’s interesting to think…

It’s interesting to think how this was the case with Haskins/Corum last year, except with Corum being the home-run hitter.

Amazing how he changed his game to suit the team’s needs.

Doesn’t think graph confirm…

Doesn’t the graph confirm what we believe?

Maybe your argument is that the difference isn’t very large. Well, the difference between a 37% 3-pt shooter and a 34% 3 pt-shooter can be pretty evident. And in this case, with Corum having more success with the 1-20 yard runs across the table, I do think the results are significant.

The writer is a massive…

The writer is a massive Michigan fan himself. Don't believe me, check out his Twitter. Just because he mentioned a few bad things about people we like, including Edwards, doesn't mean he doesn't support them.

Pretty interesting how everyone's reaction to seeing someone who has anything negative to say is to label them a troll. How close-minded do we have to be to believe that people can't simply hold differing values in these instances?

Not everyone has an ulterior motive for everything they say.

Situation is quite fluid,…

Situation is quite fluid, which is why there have been back-and-forth's. I definitely wouldn't say there's no chance he's back for the NC.

It'll become much more concrete tomorrow after the surgery as some people have alluded to, not necessarily to us if nothing is reported, but to Blake and his family at least.
