I'm not very knowledable about the sport but enjoy watching it when it hapens to be on. And of course now that Michigan is playing with the big boys, I'd like to keep up with it to support them as much as possible. Looking forward to the next installments.
Live it Fort Mill. Work in Rock Hill. Got no problem taking work off. Problem is paying for the ticket to get in. It wouldn't be so annoying if they weren't gonna be so close!
If I wanna watch it with others I'll probably have to head down to Tavern On The Tracks.
I'd say its nice to see some M fans in the area, but I've been to Tavern for a few football games so I know the fans are here. Unfortunately, I see far more Buckeyes down here than Wolverines.
I think it would be fun. The last time we poached a Bo from within the conference, it turned into a hell of a rivalry. Why not up the ante and create another one by swiping Pelini?
in an indoor paintball facility. One dude came around a blind corner at the complete wrong time and got it point blank in the nuts. He was pissing blood the next day. He was a bit of a douche so while we could empathize, we didn't feel all that sorry for him.
Frost made some plays. The had him playing OLB in a 3-4 set. He was switching back and forth as to which side he was coming from. Coaching staff must have had confidence in him as HE was deciding which side he was gonna play when switching up. He did OK staying with the TE in coverage. He still needs some coaching up. At least in this game, he was tackling too high. A lot of head and shoulder tackling. Should have had a horse-collar penalty once.
Overall, Frost had a good game. Hope he comes to Ann Arbor.
Robert Smith is a douche also, but at least Smith refuted Mays inference that the NCAA favors the B1G and Pac 12 over the SEC. The NCAA overlooks so many blatant SEC violations its silly.
I'm rooting for Arkansas and Mallett to stick it to OSU.
..and now I hate Craig James even more than after the Texas Tech/Mike Leach controversy.
He got paid to go to SMU and whines like a bitch when his kid gets called out for being a douche at TT.
I can see most SMU alums wanting to get their school back to respectability, but guys from the Dickerson/James era ought to keep there mouths shut about getting back to winning cause all their wins were bought.
It sounds like I need to catch the Escobar episode.
the old school Big Ten Commish type names that had been thrown out.
Given the lack of feisability of directionality (East/West), school affiliation (Bo/Woody), or region (Great Lake/Great Plain) the names were bound to suck no matter what.
that RR is slimy. I think they are crazy perceptions, but I dont deny they are out there.
And I could really care less what some random reporter or ignorant fan from another school thinks. BUT if recruits hear and listen to the drivel, even if it IS BS, it is not good for the program in general.
I dont like it, but perception becomes reality. Even when perception is 100% wrong, when enough people buy into the perception, it hurts your reputation and it becomes reality.
I think RR is a good guy in general and wish him success whether he stays or rides into the sunset.
so I had to choose between Dish and DirectTV. Dish has it in the basic package withing the Big Ten footprint (I would have had to pay for another tier) DirectTV has it everywhere on the standard package...SOLD!
...I'll always respect Spielman at some level. I'll say this...
1. His recruiting speech was crap. Everybody TRIES for the top kids.
2. His analysis of the 3-3-5 as a scheme is crap. It has the flexibility to be what ever you want it to be from week-to-week.
But....
3. He talked about an identity crisis. Very true. 3-4? 4-3? 3-3-5? Whatever it is going to be, RECRUIT for it. If that means a dedicated NG at DT, a bunch of OLB/DE and OLB/S tweeners, so be it. But recruit for the D you are going to run. Don't get a 4* DE, play him at OLB and wonder why he is playing at a 2* level.
4. For whatever his weaknesses are, if you had Spielman as a coach, you better bet your ass we would be more FUNDAMENTALLY sound. Stay in your gap, wrap him up, and bring him down. Fundamentals. I pray whoever the new DC is preaches these early and often.
...I think GERG goes. (Someone has to play Devils Advocate)
All 5 of your points are true in and of themselves. But none of tham take DB into consideration.
1. If GERG is cut, it will be an indictment of DB flexing his muscles and showing RR's skill at choosing a D staff is poor.
2. DB will give RR the patience he asks for as deserved for quality of recruiting (I'm not touching the academic or attrition issue) and quality of offense (last years O was markedly better than the previous).
3. We could go 12-0, but if you are doing it by the skin of your teeth every week and your offense HAS to make basketball type scores to offset the defensive woes, you could make an argument for a change for the benefit of the team as a whole.
4. Perception IS reality. Perception that we dont care about the D is getting to the point of being as important as continuity. And DB looks thru "big picture" glasses.
5. Improvement and fundamentals. If DB sees either of these on the D, GERG may keep his job. I trust DB's judgement more than mine, but I havent seen said necessities.
...to flex his muscle at RR. I want RR to stay, but I want DB to use his roladex of contacts and "strongly encourage" RR to take his suggestions seriously.
When DB puts his stamp of approval on it, I'll be satisfied.
...but that video is funny as hell. I literally laughed so hard I was in tears. Some times boards just take themselves too seriously and even then it depends on the mood of the day.
...I agree. Despite the witchhunt, he has always handled himself well.
As far as Denard's health, RR has to know Denard's health (and thus effectiveness) is tied pretty closely to RR's empoyment status in AA (at least in the short-term while we are waiting for a Defense to show up). Best to keep him as healthy as possible.

...so I'd rather kick K-States @$$
Mike and Jeanine in the booth and leave Craig on the field?
Over
Detroit Red Wings and everything else is a DISTANT 2nd to them.
RB-Dunn
DT-O'brien
WR-Payton
If I remember correctly, Cory Emerton is out of lower level options also. So the Wings either have to bring him up or trade/release him.

in having a presser with no JT/TP questions unless its something along the lines of giving the boot to the rest of the "Tat 5"?
He seems to want to get into broadcasting now that his playing days are over. He certainly has the passion for the school.
too easy!
about Jan Mursak also. Rumors have Mursak and Branden Smith getting plenty of looks in Detroit this next season.
And of the possible Rafalski replacements, I'll take Bieksa.
and so does anybody who defends the God-forsaken state.
My own need for Tavern (to see the Big Ten Network games) went away when I got DirectTV.

but its in Dallas, Texas and Coach June Jones would be fun to play for, I think.
We have a glut of RB's and WR's. Now if only we could get some DT's.
I do love Kate Beckinsale.
And my birthday wish is to turn 30 again.
when Tonya Harding released that piss-poor home porn flick.
Not that I've seen it or anything.............nevermind.
the end of "BC" (Banner Change) threads. Almost as nice as the end of "CC" threads.

You are getting kind of old. How long you plan on staying in coaching?
Our defense blows. You gonna bring Chavis with you?
We have no grass to eat. Are you OK with FieldTurf?

I'll go with the hillbilly over the hick on this one.
he was that years Brady Hoke. Decent coach at the lower level and 1 year of 1-11 at Stanford.

but will puke if its the 'stacked' version.
Bad for Henne, especially after the terrific 1st half.
Clowney was certainly part of the reason why.

who doesnt belive Snooki will be seen in some porn video in the next 2 years?
When her 15 minutes are finished, she will be doing ANYTHING to remain seen and make money.
Edit: Admittedly, I'll probably watch it. Sue me.
before Scarlet.

the 2nd "shortened" logo is better than the complete logo.
Plus, as others have noted, it will be easy to tweak in a few years when we go to 16 team superconferences.

what about the division names?
..DB should demand that he be flexible enough to back off the 3-3-5 edict. The DC HAS to feel comfortable running his defense.
Anyone got a clue if Casteel doesnt come and RR stays on board if there are any other 3-3-5 DC's out there?
