Aside from all the other…

Aside from all the other weak performers (ESPN, SEC refs, etc) I'm wondering about the condition of the field.  It appeared to me that there were numerous slips by players on both teams.  Of course Michigan slips proved to be more consequential.  Has anybody who was there commented on the footing?

Do you seriously credit the…

Do you seriously credit the test results?  The vaccine?  The policies?  The CDC?  The media?  This is the biggest hoax in the history of hoaxes.

This is not the biggest travesty resulting from the hoax.  It's just more of the same excrement.

Rocket's most effective shot…

Rocket's most effective shot of the game was the one he administered to Eli Brooks who was still in the air on his second basket.  That pushed Eli into the ankle buster and iced the game for Sparty with 35 minutes to play.  Spartans will ...

Given the warm welcome that…

Given the warm welcome that this community gave Rich Rod, why would you think that Dan Mullen would consider the job?  Or that the community would permit him to have any success?  It's a lot more important to us to Cancel the Coach than to watch winning football.

I love the plus/minus…

I love the plus/minus feature in the box score.  It shows

Seniors:  -9.0 per 40 min.

Junior:  -8.9 per 40 min.

Sophomores:  -16.5 per 40 min.

Freshman:  +.0 per 40 min.

We have seen that when the returning players support the new coaches (1969 football) the mountaintop is within reach.  And we have seen that when they don't (2008 football) the program may be in the valley for a long, long time.  Unfortunately, there's only one more Freshman on the team.  Bummer!

I think this will be the…

I think this will be the program's finest hour.  Actually, I hope Coach Howard knows the game is over after 40 minutes.

I thought our defense…

I thought our defense outperformed the other two units.  Given the lost personnel from the 2018 team and the quality of tOSU's rushing and passing attacks, I think the defense performed better than any other tOSU faced.  My disappointment in special teams is primarily the silly "trick formation" on the PAT and the carelessness on the 4th and 4 punt rush.

I thought our offense could have produced much, much more.  There was business to be done rushing up the middle.  The wide rushes were wasted downs we couldn't afford.  If our rushing attack was producing near its potential then our passing attack would have carried the day.  I can sum up every Michigan offense for the past 50 years:  "Just let me call the plays."

I first viewed this to see O…

I first viewed this to see O'Neill's pass interference call, but that atrocity and Notre Dame's subsequent score are missing.  Is there a Notre Dame highlight video?  Or were there any Notre Dame highlights?

Re:  ". . . the team has taken an apparent U-turn since halftime of last week's Penn State game."

O'Neill's isn't the only crap crew in the Conference; it's maybe not even the worst.  If the first half of the Penn State game was reffed properly, then Michigan would be 7-1, ranked #6 and rolling.

This offense is everything that we anticipated and when it plays clean, then it's really scary good.

What is Chris Fowler's problem with Michigan?  ND was not a No-Show; they just got smoked.

Amen.  Home field is…

Amen.  Home field is everything because the officials are invariably intimidated by the crowd (except John O'Neill's crew which is too stupid to notice the crowd).  The bunch that reffed this White Out was present to please.

I don't think Pep Hamilton…

I don't think Pep Hamilton is busy.  So how about an upgrade?

Right on!  It's clear that…

Right on!  It's clear that Jim Harbaugh can't properly assess quarterback talent.  We should get somebody who is at least familiar with the most important position on the team and make her the head coach.

You're reassigning Dave…

You're reassigning Dave Brandon's performance to Brady Hoke.  Jim Harbaugh is the better coach first because he didn't choose to work for the great self-promoter.

I bought tickets for Kinnick…

I bought tickets for Kinnick Stadium twice; that's two tickets because nobody I know wants to go to Iowa.  I ate the first one when my cousin's nutjob fiance set the date and I couldn't not show.  It was 2001 and this was the only game I missed.  We spent much of the reception in the bar watching Michigan come back to win.

The second one was 2005 and the students were admitted at midnight (general admission--maybe Dave Brandon suggested it) and were pretty inebriated by kickoff.  Kirk Ferentz had a brain fart on 3rd down with :30 to play and essentially threw the game away.  It was the only time Iowa ran an inside screen all season long.  He settled for overtime and so of course Michigan won.

The two memorable things about Iowa City were (1) the cheer [I-O-W-A Iowa Iowa Iowa!] which was inane but incessant and (2) the coed whose shirt proclaimed "If you ain't a Hawkeye you ain't shit" with which I completely agree.

I'm going to remember in…

I'm going to remember in November.  I'm going to remember this until I don't remember anything at all.

I am amaized that there is just one review on Amazon and it's equivocal (***).

I'm a huge Juwan Howard fan,…

I'm a huge Juwan Howard fan, but I thought that Athletic Department policy was to rip off the West Virginia Mountaineers whenever possible.

I believe that the Big Ten…

I believe that the Big Ten got exactly the result that it wanted.  Without the incompetent officiating, the standings would be:

20-0  Michigan

16-4  Purdue

14-6  Michigan State

13-7  Wisconsin

13-7  Maryland

and Michigan would have clinched two weeks ago.  Instead, the "championship" is "decided" on the final Saturday.  Great TV!!!

The reason that none of this…

The reason that none of this stuff is funny is that the subject matter is too serious.  There must be some reason that the Big Ten hires referees instead of having the players call their own fouls.  And whatever its purpose is, the bozos it hires too frequently turn in performances that are antithetical to that purpose.

What is the point of having the best coach in college basketball teach his players the right way to play and then have the bozos tell the players that it's the wrong way?  It's way past time this was fixed.

In the other ten conference…

In the other ten conference games, Jon Teske averaged 30 min and 2 personal fouls.  In this abortion, the refs benched him for sixteen minutes, providing Iowa with an unwarranted win.

The Big Ten Conference gets huge revenues from football and basketball and all it is called upon to provide is competent officiating.  So sad!  So sad!  So very sad!!

Apparently Bill Buntin was…

Apparently Bill Buntin was before Craig Ross' time.  There's a reason why his jersey hangs at Crisler and Michigan's MVP award honors his name.  I recall Buntin beating TOSU on one leg as a sophomore (Russell and the other freshmen were not eligible).

This is Michigan's third…

This is Michigan's third game this season against the current AP Top 10.  None were at home.  The first two were struggles and this one is likely to be as well.  The Top 10 lost two games at home this season and Florida posted both losses.

I predict that somebody's going to win this Peach Bowl; why not us?  A one-point victory resulting from an official's blunder will be okay by me.  However, I foresee a much more satisfying result:  Michigan 42, Florida 7.

I listened to SECFans'…

I listened to SECFans' argument for expansion to a six-team playoff and I'm not persuaded.  They're concerned that the regular season will lose it's luster; I'm concerned that it already has.  My view is that the current system causes "playoff" teams to avoid challenging regular season schedules.

Alabama was 2-0 against Sagarin's top 10 and 6-0 against Sagarin's top 30.  Their biggest challenge was in the SEC Championship Game vs #3 Georgia on December 2; they won 35-28.  I would agree they belong in the playoff.  However . . .

Clemson was 0-0 against Sagarin's top 10 and 3-0 against Sagarin's top 30.  Their biggest challenge was at #19 Texas A&M on September 9; they won 28-26.

Notre Dame was 1-0 against Sagarin's top 10 and 2-0 against Sagarin's top 30.  Their biggest challenge was home to #5 Michigan on September 2; they won 24-17.

Oklahoma was 0-0 against Sagarin's top 10 and 2-1 against Sagarin's top 30.  Their biggest challenge was at #12 West Virginia on November 24; they won 59-56.

Arguably 75% of the "playoff" teams qualified by scheduling 10 cupcakes.  And there was precious little consequential football following Week #2.  In that context, their won-loss records are no more impressive than Central Florida's.  The problem is not how many teams are in the playoff, but which teams.

I watch televised games.  I listen to the MGoHockeyCast.  I read the game summaries on MGoBlog.  I visit the USCHO site for the PairWise.  I no longer attend the games; maybe if I had won the raffle just once.

Michigan Hockey Rules.  BTN screws everything up.

When I analyzed common…

When I analyzed common opponents, I considered only three:  at Michigan State, Nebraska and Indiana.  The other games were not played on the same field and I strongly believe the home field advantage is underestimated in college football.

My analysis suggests an even bigger advantage for Michigan if the game were played on a neutral site.  My experience is that there's nothing neutral about the Horseshoe.

Was the game plan to kick six field goals to address the team's only weakness before it goes to Columbus?

Northwestern is leading their division.

Love your stuff.  I would…

Love your stuff.  I would point out that the three games you feel the M offense underperformed were the three road games.  I felt Coach Harbaugh was especially risk-averse away from Ann Arbor.  The last time Coach Franklin visited, the outcome was not pretty for him.

On December 2, the committee…

On December 2, the committee seeds the five Power-5 champions and three at-large teams.  On December 15 there are 4 games:

At-large #3 at Power-5 #1

At-large #2 at Power-5 #2

At-large #1 at Power-5 #3

Power-5 #5 at Power-5 #4

Does McKeon block a Badger in the back at the Wisconsin 40?  Why isn't that a penalty?

I was looking over the…

I was looking over the schedules 1980-89.  Michigan "built confidence" at the expense of Power-5 opponents.  That included 2-4 at ranked opponents.

App State had the game won…

App State had the game won but celebrated their victory instead of covering their kick-off.

Ed Martin was not the adult…

Ed Martin was not the adult in the situation.  Mary Sue Coleman had that responsibility and she threw Steve Fisher, Chris Webber and Michigan basketball under the bus.  And when she was finished wrecking Michigan basketball she turned her attention to Michigan football.

Coach H has seen that play before.  You can see it at about :55.
