This team was a borderline holding call on PSU and a 'ND using 11 players on a goal line stand' away from potentially being a 3 loss team this year. Ramzy early in the year tweeted out '3 loss team'. They played very well against Michigan and there is something to say about a team that can find a way to win. As a Michigan fan, it was good for them to win those games to ultimately boost the resume. But I really don't think they were a 'no questions asked' undefeated program going into The Game on Saturday...
Obviously getting better QB play next year is an absolute must for you all - would hate to see all that 5* WR talent go to waste...
After reading the B1G response again, one section caught my eye that makes me a bit concerned (truly trying not to be a concern troll here). It's Section H of their response towards the end of the section:
"This evidence also revealed significant new information from interviews that the University attended, information that is covered by confidentiality under the NCAA’s rules so as not discussed further here."
I am coming more and more to terms that there will be a punishment. And that punishment might be meaningful, particularly if the B1G and the NCAA do not think objectively about the actual rule that was allegedly broken (one that was on the table to be rescinded).
Even though it is with pay? Truly asking. Would think anything meaningful that NCAA could show would be grounds to just fire him now or suspend without pay.
If there is one thing I am not worried about it is how these portal will impact culture. The team and the coaches display what they are about every day. And it’s not just talk. It’s their actions. So when kids transfer in, have all the confidence in the world that they know what they are getting into and how they are expected to mesh.
Harbaugh began using a phrase this year which really has stuck with me - "better, no bitter". He has used it repeatedly talking about specific individuals and groups as well (eg - the walk on's). Related to these two guys? Maybe, maybe not. Not sure if it is a total coincidence though...
Are you saying that in the span of 3 or 4 weeks, the team that voted Cade as captain is not trying as hard for him as they are for JJ? Also, are you saying that the coaches are calling worse plays for Cade vs. what they are calling for JJ? Do you think they called worse plays for Davis Warren vs. what they called for JJ?
People’s feelings can change but 6 weeks ago Gattis was in tears talking about JH at the Broyles Award ceremony. The flirtation with the NFL, the Weiss wingman situation, etc obviously didn’t help but have to believe that deep down Gattis will always appreciate the risk JH took bringing him on.

Sounds like a medical issue. Ablauf commented on it per Rivals - stepping away from team and will reevaluate after season. Will remain on athletic aid.
I completely agree with your last statement. Every recession is not like 2007-2010. It's ok to have some pullback in growth, a bear stock market, normalization in credit losses for banks. Tends to weed out the under performers and allow for more efficient use of resources/capital. Thanks for your commentary throughout the thread.
I have some bad news for you about CFB games on Fox...you might get home to see the kickoff of the Pac-12 late night game by the time the Fox noon slate ends...
I am in the camp that it could help them even in this current cycle. He was a immoral cloud over the program that I think some parents wanted their kids to avoid. With him gone, I actually think it increases their chances of getting some kids that were being told to by their parents to think twice given the kind of person Urban is.
I would pay for an app. The new website is no good on mobile and like many have said, my visits to the site have probably been reduced by 30-40% since the relaunch.
I stupidly just watched that entire Trey Burke highlight video from the Kansas game. It could also basically be a Mitch McGary highlight video too. Gosh - what could have been if he was healthy that soph. year and able to play in tournament...
We went to multiple NU games last year and the atmospher was outstanding. Haven't been to any this year as it is a haul out to Rosemont. I go back and forth about whether or not I want it to be a a momentum killer for the program. On one hand, my son really likes the 'Cats so when they do well, he is happy. On the other hand, my in-laws really like the 'Cats so nice to have this year somewhat humble them. They were starting to get a bit cocky about the direction of the program. Plus Chris Collins is a Duke grad which is always a huge negaive for me.
Looking forward to this fall when UM fanes takes over Ryan Field!
Seems like such an easy fix and I think would keep the spirit of the game. 15 seconds to review. If its not obvious (no frame by frame, enhance, enhance, enhance stuff), then it stands. Can't believe they haven't implemented something like that in basketball. I believe they have in baseball right?
Disclaimer: I am #teampeters
That said - not sure I feel great about bringing in a guy who needs to learn a very complicated playbook and has high expectations to start. Granted, I am sure Harbaugh will bring those expectations down to earth (see: Speight’s comments about splitting snaps in spring. But just makes me a bit worried about team chemistry over the long term.
Secondly (and this is totally just a question) - are any of the players that went to Oke Miss during the peak of Freeze’s recruiting shadiness at risk of being disqualified from playing due to potentially taking improper benefits?
Out against an overly aggressive LB group (and this is just hypothetical) if we were playing in a monsoon. Love it just wish we could have maybe used it a week prior?

Crazy he is getting looks since Stallions was the only reason M beat Ohio St in 2021.
Seems like a good way to steal some signs...

love the jazz/lobby music playing clearly in the background during the game theory segment.
Thanks for providing the link. Will take a look!
Thanks for explaining better than I could Chaco.
Ubran Meyer is definitely looking to get himself involved in this situation...
Don't want to jinx it, but it's not even on the generic landing page for ESPN college football...

Me: Gosh it would be great to get some good content.
Also me: Not like this...
Wonder how they compare to the Van Buren Boys?
logging in to upvote. Google flights is such a great tool and booking directly through airline always cleanest if/when things hit the fan...
yep - just mgo-searched and no mention of him anywhere in recruiting round ups. Seems like M didn't have any interest in him at all. Fascinating!

Also…we are on a happy mission

Amazing they could pry him away from such a strong program
Did he get tested for COVID?
…
Am I doing my math wrong?

5+1+1+1 = 8 right?
Anyways...final score 16-9
This was my EXACT thought reading through this. He is going to go for 325 and 3 TDs. Cool cool cool...
Inject this into my veins...as the kids say

Still not locked. I have to say - I am super pleased with discussion overall. We CAN be adults here after all!

I mainly read FT and WSJ. Don't really partake much in on-line finance forums (or any other forums for that matter - outside of mgoblog obviously...).
Logged in from airport specifically to down vote the heck out of this

How black, I mean bleak, is the outlook on transfers?
Can’t upvote either!
+1 if I could. Don Brown leaving would be a bigger deal than any recruit we get/don't get. Would also guess this would impact Harrison.
Too low. Just a huge amount of disrespect for what this team is doing right now.

Even interview for a job related to college football, Shea's eligibility is not up for discussion whatsoever.
