I'm glad they finished the drill- Cam Williams was really cooking in the first quarter before some questionable officiating led to her sitting for a long time- third foul was legit, but the first two, man... woof.
There is a competitive team that plays in the same arena, but the Athletic Department never seems to do a damn thing to boost attendance for the Women's BB team.
Penix was an amazing college player, but if I were a GM he's the one QB in the first round I just would shy away from- I'm scared of that injury history. Dude is a warrior, and a great player, I'm just saying what I would do if I were in charge.
That was the one that made me take notice. I kind of wanted the Lions to pick up Chase Young at the trade deadline, but I like this a whole lot better- take some of the heat off of Hutch, and all of a sudden the back 7 gets a lot better.
The Mullings/Edwards dual backfield where Kalel occasionally gets the ball, and occasionally commits linebacker homicide is something that I would like to see quite often.
If those are the sticking points, I'd think they were close enough to get it done. More interesting is what it does say about the relationship with Warde, though.

Assuming for the minute they reach an agreement, there'll be a letter of agreement, or memorandum of understanding signed between the parties, then the contract (using the previous one) will be done. Every time JUB says "the contract isn't done" it puts my teeth on edge- that just isn't how it works.
One thing I would take into account is your ability to get out of town- I live in suburban Detroit, and do love it here, but January and February are crap months. So, the ability to get on a plane to go somewhere else is important. Also, while I love the west side of the state, and think it's beautiful, Holland and some of that area has felt a little insular to me, whenever I've been there. Nice enough, but I felt like because I wasn't from there originally, and didn't go to church there, I wasn't totally welcome. Your mileage may vary, and that's entirely my perspective, but still.
Sunrise side of the state= cheaper. But, more isolated. So, if going to a nice restaurant on a regular basis is important to you, be aware.
Inland lakes are great- Higgins Lake is beautiful, and clear. (same caveat re restaurants, though).

If it were my case, I would not have Coach testify at all on Friday- this is about what the B1G did, and anything that takes away from that focus at this hearing is not helpful.

I have a kamado style egg (got it from Costco, but mine's blue and not red). It's amazing for smoking, and it can get hot enough to make pizzas, too. Highly recommend.
I agree with you that Warde shouldn't be the one vetting potential hires, certainly not at this level. (If he is, he is wasting his time). But shouldn't they have some procedures in place, even as simple as this question on the HR paperwork: "Do you have a public social media? What is it?" Then some intern or low level person gets to go through and see if there's anything embarrassing within. That way, if the person lies, and stuff comes out, you have a super easy out.
To me it all comes back to systems and processes- I haven't perused the org chart for U-M's Athletic Department to see how many layers there are between the AD and whatever Glenn Junior was supposed to do, but you would like to think that before extending a public offer, some intern would have been assigned to see whether the theoretical future employee was publicly, openly a piece of garbage or not.
Short answer- I dunno if Warde should have been the one to vet him but he sure as hell should have been the one to ensure that all hires get vetted. It's not hard.

I've been waffling on re-upping my season tickets, and I have to say that selling beer is not going to increase the likelihood I get the tickets next year. I like beer, but man, I feel like this is just going to make the experience worse. Even assuming no drunks in my section, and no drunk interactions (I know, fantasy world), it's just going to increase the number of people going up and down the aisles to either buy more, or go to the bathroom. The rows are small, and the aisles are small, and already full.

Agreed. Appealing to public opinion every time isn't the answer- you get ignored. But every once in a while, it's completely appropriate to air things in public, if for no other reason than to publicly have your people's backs.
Because under the CPL laws, which are extremely technical and difficult to understand, possessing a gun in a car without the formal permit, or without 45 days having passed from when you submit your fingerprints, is technically possession without a permit.
