Just based on his analysis…

Just based on his analysis and his energy level, I think Devin Gardner should get some consideration here.  With his personality, it's hard to believe he wouldn't excel at recruiting as well.

Jim Thorpe, Wilt Chamberlain, Rocky Marciano, and Simone Biles.  When they change the rules of a sport because one person is so dominant, that person should go down as one of the best ever.

But he killed the MUTO that partially destroyed Vegas.  So, on the surface, it doesn't look like Godzilla's really on our side.

I never understood this take…

I never understood this take.  Does no one remember Lloyd Carr?  You know, the guy who was never a head coach until taking over after the Moeller incident?  Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he the only coach who brought a national title to Michigan since 1948?  He seemed to work out pretty well.

With all of the potential new coaches for NFL teams, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody tries to grab MacDonald as their DC.

Hutchinson, Ojabo, Hill and…

Hutchinson, Ojabo, Hill and Ross were given.  Hinton and Gray have been surprises.  All of these, along with the departure of Nua for the same position, makes me feel like Harbaugh is going to the NFL and taking MacDonald with him.  If that happens, I think Gattis moves up to HC and Clinksdale takes over as DC.

Watch Stroud on the TD run…

Watch Stroud on the TD run that was called back for holding - that was not a sick or worn-down player.

Were they "sick" for the Oregon game too?  The physical domination looked pretty similar.

I think Michigan goes full…

I think Michigan goes full throttle from the start and gets a big lead - forcing Iowa into more pass attempts in a effort to give Hutchinson a better chance to win the Heisman.  If Alabama loses (especially if Young throws an INT or two) and Aidan gets 2 or more sacks, I think he wins it.  This might be the best year for a defensive player (since Woodson - and he had to beat out Manning) since there really aren't any offensive runaways.

It's hard to separate these…

It's hard to separate these things sometimes.  I love listening to guys like Brown, Warinner and Moore in their interviews.  I like them.  But the performance on the field doesn't justify them keeping their spots.  I would favor a clean sweep.  Warinner would probably be the favorite to keep, but he just had 4 guys drafted, two of which are starters in the NFL.  With that line, Michigan should have been plowing through other teams at will.

I don't get all the praise for Zordich.  With the talent that has come through Michigan in the past few years (Lewis, Hill, Long, Thomas, Clark, Stribling, etc) they should have been at the top of the Big Ten in INTs.  The last couple of years, the CBs have played more like MSU's - one of the more penalized groups in college football.  They're too talented to get consistently beat, but they do more often than not.  Remember Jourdan Lewis's incredible interception against Wisconsin?  He was beat deep on that play.  A better thrown ball and that's the game winning touchdown.  I see a ton of fundamental mistakes from the DBs and believe they have been getting by on talent alone.  If Zordich does not recruit well, then he shouldn't be coaching at the college level.  The entire defensive backfield should be under one coach.  Dax Hill is probably the best player on the team, but he needs to be coached.

Lewis is the only corner in…

Lewis is the only corner in recent history who even appeared to try and locate the ball.  All of the CB's have been holding and strictly reacting to the receiver - many of those reactions are just too late.  None of them look for the ball.  That's on coaching.  It also sounds like Zordich isn't much of a recruiter.  I'm still not sold on the idea of different coaches for the corners and safeties.

I'm starting to feel like…

I'm starting to feel like the Milton hype was strictly based on how he performed in practice against these corners.

Thanks for the replies.  Got a copy of the letter dropped off to the original lawyer (and one with notes citing much of the advice on here).  His reply to the chief and his lawyer was outstanding.  We're both feeling much better about the situation moving forward.

Thanks again.

That is her lawyer.  But he…

That is her lawyer.  But he seemed like he couldn't even remember her when she had contacted him this morning.  Also, I would have thought this is who the letter from the chief's lawyer should have gone to.  EEOC won't talk with my wife since she has a lawyer, so it's not like the city is unaware of his representation of her.  It seems a bit unethical for the other lawyer to contact her directly and demand that she call him immediately - almost like he can dupe her into agreeing to something without representation present.

She just spoke to the…

She just spoke to the current attorney.  His response was nearly blank as he can't seem to recall the information about the case since its nearly 2 years old.

Still waiting on that.

Still waiting on that.

The statements she made were…

The statements she made were not false.  One of the claims of his suit is based on things she had shared on Facebook (other people's op-eds).  He has not lost any income as he still holds the same position.  He made her life miserable during her last year on the department, and is now continuing to do so in her retirement.  She has been depressed for almost 2 years now and can't take pride in the career she worked so hard for.

We live in Fort Wayne, IN. …

We live in Fort Wayne, IN.  Last I looked, we are the 79th largest city in the US.  As far as EEOC, we have filed for the notice of right to sue, but they really have taken more than their allotted time to issue it   We have an attorney for the initial case - he claims his hands are tied as he has to wait on the EEOC.  He is one of two locally who will file suit against the city.  I'm wondering if this new issue (the chief's suit against her) becomes a separate actionable offense.  And if so, should we seek a different attorney for this?

If this is legitimate and it…

If this is legitimate and it stops the binding process, then haven't they just found the cure for the common cold too?  If I remember correctly, the common trait in coronavirus (COVID and the common cold among them) is the way they attach to the human cells.  If they can stop the binding process for one, then shouldn't it work for the other as well?

Great movie.  My wife hates it when I have it on.

It sounds like NFL scouts…

It sounds like NFL scouts were really impressed with his performance against Chase Young last year - enough so that one of the draft gurus had him as the #1 pick at some point.  I'm sure that's changed since then, but I think Mayfield, Collins and Paye could all go in the first round.

I agree.  Something is…

I agree.  Something is better than nothing.  About 1/3 of our department is in their 50's, and we have several over 60.  I'm still in my 40's (soon to be 48) and I'm not too concerned for myself.  I know some people will consider that to be ignorant.  I'm not a fan of wearing a mask.  I do it when I go to the store or something like that.  I don't wear one when I'm outside or in my vehicle.  My philosophy is that I'll wear it when I'm going to be around other people to make them more comfortable.

The timing suggests they…

The timing suggests they caught it before school started.  I truly believe the numbers are up because the testing has increased.  It would be great if we could have an accurate antibody test.  I think more people have already had it than the numbers suggest.

As far as the controversy over this virus, it's hard for me to take it all that seriously.  I work for the FWFD.  We make tons of runs on people who have tested positive for covid or suspect that they have it.  We do put on protective gear when coming in close contact with patients.  But there has been no - absolutely zero - testing done on us.  NBA players are getting tested every other day or so even when they're not coming in contact with anyone outside of the bubble.  Yet the city doesn't even have a policy or protocol in place to check our temperatures or anything.  We're going in and out of nursing homes on a regular basis and then going back to the station where we eat, sleep, workout and live together for 24 hours.  And then we go home to our families.  If my superiors aren't all that worried about it, then how can I be?

With that blast radius, I am…

With that blast radius, I am amazed that the death toll isn't higher than what's being reported.  In most of the videos, it looks like people are going about their business - no evacuation (or at least not a large enough one).  Other videos show the street-level aftermath and the area is devastated.

I think the monetary rewards…

I think the monetary rewards for good grades is where things will get hung up.  I agree with the other benefits, but we all know some schools will stretch those limits.  If the athletes (who are getting all or most of their education paid for) get rewarded $$$ for grades, then why shouldn't every student?  After all, aren't they all there "to play school."

I just think this is the NCAA's effort to prevent the kids from getting paid.

All these references to…

All these references to slavery and glorifying the confederacy should have been dealt with long ago.  Just like the Nazis, the South lost.  They shouldn't be honored or glorified.

My personal problem with all of this current cultural movement is that everyone seems so focused on changing names in regards to things that happened (in some cases) a 100+ years ago, but nobody wants to acknowledge that slavery still exists to this day right here in America.  Human trafficking isn't divided among races and genders.  Sex trade, slave labor trade - it doesn't matter.  People are being stripped of their rights and forced into these ungodly situations, yet nobody wants to talk about it.  I did a shitload of research on this subject for my novel, and it's fucking disgusting (pardon my language).

Since it hasn't been…

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, The Martian by Andy Weir.  If you're looking for a series, I'd recommend the Doc Ford series by Randy Wayne White, the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child or the Spenser series by Robert Parker (shorter novels, but there are nearly 50 in the series).

He also lost his 16 year old…

He also lost his 16 year old son to bone cancer.  How anyone can continue on and find success in life after something like that is a testament to his character.

You might want to check out the Panini Contenders card for DPJ.  I'm pretty sure that's Chris Evans pictured - I can't recall Peoples-Jones ever wearing the number 12.

I collect football cards of Michigan players and coaches (over 300 different ones) in their Michigan uniform only.  I used to get the ones with their pro uniforms, but it got too expensive and took up too much room.  I sold off the pro, unlicensed photoshopped college and senior bowl ones (which included a dozen Brady rookie cards) and was able to finance my hobby strictly from the profit until recently.  I have almost 3000 cards (including nearly 200 of Charles Woodson and well over 400 autographed cards from various players).  I also check eBay on a regular basis and pick up custom made cards - they don't hold any resale value, but that way I have cards of players like Ruiz, Runyan, Cole, Collins, Dax Hill and Ambry Thomas.  I know I spend too much time and money on it, but why stop now?
