I want to see this team play so bad I'm probably going to pay for this one, so fingers crossed that they're better than BTN+.

Just checked Wayne State's site and it's sold out. Stubhub actually has tickets - $150 for 2. By chance anyone have tickets that can't go? I hate paying Stubhub's crazy service fee but think it'd be cool to be at the opening of Wayne State's new arena.

This is how screwed up I am. I was gonna pay $125 ea for tickets on Stubhub, but I couldn't get anyone to go with me, but I refuse to pay $6 for a stream. I know, I don't make any sense.

That's the cheapest??

Are you against going alone? I've gone to sporting events alone, before. It's actually not bad because there are no distractions and you can really focus. Because you could just be near the arena and buy them online when everyone starts panic selling and get in for much less than that.

EDIT: didn't realize we were away in a brand new (?) WSU arena. So maybe there won't be a ton of panic sells but I already found some for $50 online...

Better than the $30 they charged to watch a REGULAR SEASON matchup between the (at the time) #1, #2, #5 and #7 college hockey teams in a mini tournament a few weekends back.

Literally the #1 (Duluth) and #2 (Michigan) teams played and it was behind a massive paywall.

Unfortunately this seems like a growing trend for live sports. With so many cutting cords to opt for no-contract streaming services, it seems the networks (I know this isn’t network-related, but has the same feel) are trying to find a new way to re-capture that lost revenue. Notre Dame’s opener against Toledo was only available on Peacock. Another poster mentioned the college hockey streaming package. It won’t be long before ESPN decides their game of the week is only available on Disney Plus, and the dominos will continue to fall until basically every game is pay per view.

I hope I’m wrong, but this just feels like the logical transition.
