Interesting question. At first thought, why should you ever care about anything ? Hard to definitively say. lets assume you care about college football, well pat mcafee has a rather large following of college football fans. So a joke at Urbana’s expense is seen by many. So I guess that’s why ?

I know McAfee comes from the Barstool network and that's an automatic reason to hate him for many people on this blog, but I personally think he's awesome TV.  His Gameday cameos this year were hilarious, and he's actually a fairly good color commentator.  He's also a very good analyst who knows a LOT about the game.  I could definitely see ESPN choosing him to fill Corso's seat when he chooses/gets forced to retire.

If that's the case, Corso should have retired a year or two ago.

I'm no doctor, but he's clearly in decline. I like Corso, and he's had a great career, but every time I watch him I can't help but feel bad.

I assumed Gameday was letting him finish out this season, I can't imagine how they'd bring him back for another year.

"It’s a nice little break from all the BS politically correct stuff that other analysts do, fearing they’ll get in trouble for 'standing up to the man.'"

Pretty lame writing. But I kept reading to see Urban dunked on. Pretty mild stuff though.

Pat is a hilarious guy.  But I agree that most people aren’t tuning in for stunts or Nick Lechey singing the school fight song.  But I also agree with Pat that Urban is a waking medical miracle.

Damn, I thought this was the crazy dude who made millions from antivirus software, not the punter. That would have been a funnier beef.

I still blame McAfee for Rich Rod even having the opportunity to come to Michigan.   Make a field goal and West Virginia is in the BCS title game and Rich Rod doesn’t leave.

All else aside, this beef is about what fans want in a college football pregame show: analysis or theatrics/entertainment.  ESPN is still king, but it'll be interesting to see how that evolves, especially if Meyer sticks around Fox.

I like McAfee's personality, and I still prefer GameDay to whatever Fox is doing. Despite all the money involved, it's still just a fun game played by college students, not the most serious thing in the world.

Urban has good analysis, but he's still Urban, so I'm not going to go out of my way to hear what he has to say. However, once he latches on with the Redskins or Cowboys, I will immediately become the biggest fan of the other team.
