No big deal. I just held down on the link and it asked me what I wanted to open it with.

Did you tell your phone, "deez nuts?"
December 17th, 2019 at 12:23 AM ^
Yeah, you're probably going to get blasted for this. It's unfortunate that you posted so close to The Greatest Post Headline Ever.

Not only is this a particularly low-cal nothingburger, but it might be the one time in history when I agree with Urban friggin' Meyer.

When it comes to football and schemes and winning, there's a lot i agree with urban meyer on. When it comes to being a good human being, there's nothing i agree with urban meyer on.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend
Even if both involved are annoying douches

Why should I ever care what Pat McAfee says about anything?
December 17th, 2019 at 4:18 AM ^
Interesting question. At first thought, why should you ever care about anything ? Hard to definitively say. lets assume you care about college football, well pat mcafee has a rather large following of college football fans. So a joke at Urbana’s expense is seen by many. So I guess that’s why ?

Life is pointless. Nothing matters. We're all going to die.

I always love these comments. You didn't have to click on this thread...

Why should I ever care what Bando Calrissian says about anything?
December 17th, 2019 at 8:00 AM ^
I can't recall the last time I did.
December 17th, 2019 at 8:00 AM ^
Because he was in the 1959 Michigan Marching Band which means he knows...everything!*
*except why he should care about what Pat McAfee says...that one he is still learning.

I know McAfee comes from the Barstool network and that's an automatic reason to hate him for many people on this blog, but I personally think he's awesome TV. His Gameday cameos this year were hilarious, and he's actually a fairly good color commentator. He's also a very good analyst who knows a LOT about the game. I could definitely see ESPN choosing him to fill Corso's seat when he chooses/gets forced to retire.
December 17th, 2019 at 9:46 AM ^
He was at barstool for about a month and left.
December 17th, 2019 at 9:59 AM ^
Big fan of McAfee too. He's a breath of fresh air.
But GameDay will never force Corso to retire. He'll do that job as long as he is physically able too.
December 17th, 2019 at 11:49 AM ^
If that's the case, Corso should have retired a year or two ago.
I'm no doctor, but he's clearly in decline. I like Corso, and he's had a great career, but every time I watch him I can't help but feel bad.
I assumed Gameday was letting him finish out this season, I can't imagine how they'd bring him back for another year.
December 17th, 2019 at 12:34 PM ^
The amount of respect the GameDay crew has for Corso is off the charts. They may limit his role as time goes on, but I don't think they'll ever force him out.

He's been really funny on the Bob and Tom Show too.

"It’s a nice little break from all the BS politically correct stuff that other analysts do, fearing they’ll get in trouble for 'standing up to the man.'"
Pretty lame writing. But I kept reading to see Urban dunked on. Pretty mild stuff though.

That segment on YouTube "Troy Polamalu ruined my life" is hilarious.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:34 AM ^
Pat is a hilarious guy. But I agree that most people aren’t tuning in for stunts or Nick Lechey singing the school fight song. But I also agree with Pat that Urban is a waking medical miracle.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:40 AM ^
That is an epic response.
December 17th, 2019 at 8:58 AM ^
Damn, I thought this was the crazy dude who made millions from antivirus software, not the punter. That would have been a funnier beef.
December 17th, 2019 at 9:51 AM ^
I still blame McAfee for Rich Rod even having the opportunity to come to Michigan. Make a field goal and West Virginia is in the BCS title game and Rich Rod doesn’t leave.
December 17th, 2019 at 10:45 AM ^
All else aside, this beef is about what fans want in a college football pregame show: analysis or theatrics/entertainment. ESPN is still king, but it'll be interesting to see how that evolves, especially if Meyer sticks around Fox.
December 17th, 2019 at 11:16 AM ^
Serious question: who is Pat McAffe and why is he all over TV? I’ve only become aware of him recently
December 17th, 2019 at 11:27 AM ^
I like McAfee's personality, and I still prefer GameDay to whatever Fox is doing. Despite all the money involved, it's still just a fun game played by college students, not the most serious thing in the world.
Urban has good analysis, but he's still Urban, so I'm not going to go out of my way to hear what he has to say. However, once he latches on with the Redskins or Cowboys, I will immediately become the biggest fan of the other team.
December 17th, 2019 at 1:16 PM ^
Sorry, I agree with Meyer on this one. Besides, McAfee is basically Captain Douchebag.
December 17th, 2019 at 2:19 PM ^
Actually I don't care about anything anybody says. I care about fiesty women, holdem poker, and very good whiskey. OOps and my wife! hehe
December 17th, 2019 at 7:19 PM ^
Isn't McAfee the degenerate who made his money with the anti-virus software? WTF does he know about football?
