Day is definitely a better human being than the two slimeballs who preceded him.  But those slimeballs understood football in a way that Day does not.

Unfortunately, for many in football, Jabrill Peppers comes to mind, growing up in a single parent household under difficult and, at times, violent circumstances, is highly prevalent.  Day's resilience is laudable, but hardly exceptional.

Jimmy picked him up by his underwear in front of the largest college football viewing audience 3 years in a row. Probably best to just shut up. Really fucking tough of him to talk shit when he knows Jim can’t kick his ass for a 4th consecutive year.

seriously, if I were on his roster these comments would make me rethink my opinion of him.

Polite disagreement.  the refs flat out stole one (2016), and a couple were close, like if o'korn can simply throw a forward pass or our DB doesn't drop a pick that was right in his bread basket.  further, ohio/urban had every conceivable cheating advantage at their disposal. using my analogy up thread, urban was driving a corvette, harbaugh an impala, and if urban lost it would've been a disgrace.  and to take it one step beyond that, even if urban hadn't been fired i'm pretty sure that harbaugh would've beaten hiim.

I agree with nearly all of that. The exception: I think Metellus gets way too much heat for the dropped interception. To hear some (not necessarily you) tell it, he had nothing but green grass in front of him and Michigan was basically up 21-0. I disagree. He's in the upper-left corner here and -- if you watch the video -- on his heels a bit and drifting toward the sideline. Maybe he scores. I don't think it's a sure thing.

I agree with you - Metellus gets WAY too much heat for that.  I mean, three years later people were still crapping on him as a bad safety because of it.  That play was just before halftime, and he wasn't getting to the EZ from 90 yards out.  The entire 2nd half was a repeat of O'Korn's 1st half shit show.  Just complete that last pass to the WIDE OPEN TE streaking down the middle of the field!  Just fucking drop it within 5 yards of him, please!!!

Hard to make excuses for those loses.  But, Urban walked into a stacked roster, and Harbaugh walked into a mess, especially on offense.  It's a big deal to essentially not have OL development and takes years to bring this up to the necessary level to be the kind of team Harbaugh wants.  His biggest cognitive mistake, IMO, was allowing Don Brown to be inflexible on defense and also to fail to prioritize DT recruiting (the second most important position in football).  Harbaugh competed early on with greatly inferior talent.  Then got wiped out due to Don Brown not adjusting, and having absolutely no significant DT play.  Once that self-corrected, even finger-licking Urban would not have beaten Harbaugh.

Ryan Day, his PI firm, the conference and the ncaa got what they wanted and that’s Jim out of college football.

I don’t think it’s anything about Jim but if it is, this dude is softer than we think

You know who would be the first person to tell you Jim Harbaugh  benefited from growing up in a football family,  Jim Harbaugh. Jim takes the blame when things are bad and passes the credit when things are good

Yeah, Jim talks all the time about talking to his dad and brother and about how great his dad is at giving advice on football. And his brother has helped provide multiple great coaches.

Jim will gladly say that growing up around Michigan football, and Bo was a huge help to his success. But he didn't just use that to get into coaching.  He made Stanford a power in football.  Took a flailing 49ers team to the superbowl and NFC championship multiple years in a row.  Brought Michigan their first National Championship in over 25 years, while going to the playoff 3 years in a row, and beating OSU three years in a row.

Jim was certainly born on one of the bases to get into coaching, but all those teams above were him starting at Home and having to get hits and runs and steals all on his own. Day has maintained OSU's dominance over the rest of the BIG, but has not shown he can build or take the program to the Championship.

Why would he worry about Harbaugh? Didn't even have to face him last year.  Now, that 0-1 record against Sherrone Moore? That could be a problem.

Ryan Day must feel like he's under just the most intense amount of pressure possible.  He basically has to win a national title, or at least play in the championship game, or his season is an abject failure.  Beating Michigan probably wouldn't even be enough given the coaching change and everything.

And yeah, he doesn't  seem like a guy who's handling it all that well.  Sort of like a guy who walked into a great situation and acted like he earned it, only to learn that in fact it's quite difficult.  If only there was some turn-of-phrase to describe that phenomenon.

It still cracks me up that he got so emotional and called out Lou Holtz, the Lou Holtz that was old 20 years ago, to claim how tough his team is, after taking multiple tries to get in the endzone, with the final try working when ND only had 10 men on the field (LOL at ND). The play that he defined as proving his team was tough, was shown to be as much because the other team was ridiculously stupid as anything.

It's ok Wyan not everybody achieves college All American status and a first round pick, 16 year, Ring of Honor, NFL career while figuring it out.

Some have to volunteer as an unpaid assistant on a lower tier team to work their way up to paid coaching status while meandering randomly through life.

Many with a view from perpetually being stranded on third gaze with admiration at such achievers and haughtily describe said success with envy. Admiration from afar is always appreciated.

How'd your investigation work out? Was this what you have figured out so far? Good for you.

It really is the off season.😂Highly doubt either Day or Harbaugh walk around with the intention of calling out one another.they are both busy.harbaugh i’m sure is getting ready for the draft and Day is in the middle of their spring practice.unless of course the reporter/interviewer sets the table for it.
