I don't think there's a shortage of candidates if Harbaugh leaves...I think its kind of ironic, if La Canfora's sources are right.

It remains to be seen if Raiders owner Mark Davis can lure Jim Harbaugh out of Michigan to return to the organization where he began his NFL coaching career, but if he does, league sources said several current NFL coaches would have their eye on the opening in Ann Arbor.

Panthers' embattled head coach Matt Rhule would be at the top of that list, league sources indicated, with Rhule already considering several college options this past season, and with him firmly on the hot seat with owner David Tepper for 2022 after receiving an eventual vote of confidence from ownership.

Harbaugh was never on the radar. Been trying to tell people this for a while. Not that I know anything anyways, but Seth pretty much said the same on the MgoBlog Roundtable with Sam.

"I'd rather have a coach that wants to be here"  ??? Are you kidding me???

He took a pay cut last year to stay on as Michigan's coach and donated his bonuses to the Athletic Department to dispense to COVID impacted employees.

He is on the recruiting trail right now and has quickly made hires to fill the vacant spaces on his coaching staff. He'll hire great coaches and pull in a great class.

He doesn't need to stop everyday and tell cry-baby pseudo-fans or the media that he is still doing his job. Not that most coaches telling the media "I'm staying" means anything anymore, anyway.

If you listen to Simms and the rest of the blow-hards that claim to know something, then I feel sorry for you. It astounds me how much people complain and whine about Harbaugh.

I'd rather have fans on this board that want to be here.

If Michigan is a destination job for anyone, it’s Jim Harbaugh. A former star player who loves this school and has already had success in the NFL.

Any other coach who comes here and has success will also get NFL interest. And the NFL is the king for most. Michigan isn’t. So I don’t understand the “if he doesn’t want to be here he should leave” nonsense because:

1) he’s already chosen Michigan when he could have remained or returned to the NFL

2) The program seems to be in a really good place at the moment

3) Who are you going to get who’s not only as good if not better, but who won’t  also attract NFL interest with success?

This logic would lead to every single successful coach here for the rest of history to be ousted immediately upon having success because there’s hardly a coach in the world who wouldn’t consider and weigh moving to the NFL to some degree. In the meantime, Harbaugh is still out here recruiting hard and hiring highly respected coaches.
