Sorry OP.  Imagine if we had one of them new-fangled websites with one of those edit thingies I've heard tell about.  Word has it that with one of them edit thingies users can go back and CHANGE WHAT THEY FIRST WROTE!!!!

I mean can you even conjure up such digital sorcery?   That would be like electronic white-out or something.

My best coach K memory will always be the NCAA final against Maryland, where, as usual, his team was getting all the calls (just as they had in the semi-finals against AZ), and the crowd actually started booing violently.  Then, intolerable suited and mic'd cretin Billy Packer actually called it out, and said the crowd was booing based on the perception that Duke always get the calls their way.  That is K's legacy in my mind. A crowd having their final four spectatorship ruined by Duke's faux M.O. of somehow being the cleaner, harder-working team.

Krinklezeffskis agent:  “Mike.  This Zion shit aint goin away.   My advice to you is we wait a couple of weeks and then announce that youre retiring at the end of next season.  Meanwhile, I’ll put out some feelers to the NBA.”

I hate how these cheaters always skate.

You know how such a thing ends, right? Any allegations which may come to light at Duke mean that Tulane or a similar school is going to get all but erased from the face of the planet. The wheels of NCAA justice grind slowly, rather roughly and usually in a place other than where they should grind.

In a way, it’s a shame.  Last few years, Duke seems to have fallen from its long-standing perch.  I wouldn’t have minded watching Coach K scuffle for a few more years.

Last season notwithstanding, they've usually still been very good year in and out, but they seem to have not been the same program the last 6-7 years that they once were. Not that they got worse necessarily. They were just different.

It seems like in that time there was a shift to going after more of the one and done type of guys vs. the guys who would stick around in Coach K's system for a couple of years and gel. I can't say that it was a good or a bad idea, but it didn't net him any titles or Final Fours. In fact, during the 2018-19 season with that "Greatest Duke team ever assembled" lineup with Zion, RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish and a few others, they barely even made it out of the first weekend of the tournament. They arguably had no business making it out, and UCF probably should've beaten them.

Jay Bilas takes over in a Herm Edwards-like CEO role, with 14 former Duke players as bench assistants.

The best part of this whole situation?  Chris Collins is in no position to take over the Duke coaching legacy.

IMO, he's one of the most egregious self-aggrandizing windbags in all of college basketball. Add that he' a cheater only makes him a worse person.

As a try-hard-but-not-that-talented kid, that's about the only real action I got as a Senior FOGO. I was our 3rd faceoff guy - probably our best at faceoffs, but definitely the worst of the 3 at lacrosse (I think the other 2 walked on when they got to college. I did not). GBN was one of the better teams around, the game was tight in the 3rd Q and we had lost a couple of faceoffs in a row, so I was shocked when our coach yelled for me in a close game - I was a mopup duty senior. I walked out to the dot on our next faceoff and looked up at Schyer, obviously a superior athlete. But he was 6'6" and I'm 5'11". In a lacrosse faceoff low man wins. I drove him back a couple of feet, not worried about possession - again I wasn't that good at lacrosse, so I'd let one of the wings grab it. We got possession, I ran off the field for a sub and waited till the next faceoff opportunity. When GBN changed faceoff guys, so did we. One of our better lacrosse players went back out, and thus ended my playing time in a competitive game.

My wife has already asked how many times she'll hear "I beat that guy in a lacrosse faceoff" for the next 30 years...

My other brushes with greatness are less successful. Phil Kessel scored on me on a penalty shot. In athletes playing other sports like the above, I once tried to guard Mike Massey in a basketball game in the IM Building (or CCRB?). I was our 3rd biggest guy. He was theirs. He was much bigger than me. It did not go well.
