Buckle Up: June Commit-Palooza Incoming
Summer-time official visit season is well underway and Michigan could be cashing in with several prospects this month that would almost surely vault them back to the #1 recruiting class spot.
Prospects that are visiting in June and are trending towards locking in a commitment:
3* RB Micah Ka'apana from nationally-reknown Bishop Gorman in Nevada has received several Michigan ballz and visits this weekend .
4* WR Jordan Shipp teammate of Jadyn Davis and Channing Goodwin visited Michigan last week, started to receive his ballz and may visit again soon.
4* WR I'Marion Stewart has 100% Michigan ballz and is announcing his commitment in 2 weeks. Visits this weekend.
4* OT Bennett Warren visits this weekend and received a Michigan ball from known friend Steve Lorenz.
4* DE Dominic Nichols visits this weekend and has Michigan leading his ballz.
4* DE Jacob Smith brother of commit Jerod, visited last weekend and received Michigan ballz this past weekend.
4* DT Owen Wafle received a few Michigan ballz two weeks ago after decommitting from Notre Dame. Visits this weekend.
3* DT Deyvid Palepale visits this weekend who has received several Michigan ballz. 3* mafia haters won't like to hear the fact he holds Penn State, Ohio State, Florida, Notre Dame, USC, Miami and Oklahoma offers.
NR S/LB Jaden Smith received a flood of Michigan ballz this week, announces on Monday and also has a solid offer list of USC, Utah, Miami and Kentucky.
Then to round out the month there is are 4* LB Jeremiah Beasley and 4* LB Aaron Chiles who will look to be announcing in the near future (Beasley end of June) with Michigan leading the charge on their ballz. There is always the potential of a prospect not even on this list dropping during the official-visit circuit.
If you're a gambler, the June commit Over/Under is un-officially set at 6.5 and it seems that Michigan will have a majority of its 2024 recruiting class wrapped up before their season is kicked off.
Hell yeah! Go Blue (balls)!
NIL or no NIL, at some point you can only take so many commits.
Such a good problem to have tho.
If they take a commitment from Ka'apana I would imagine that closes the door on Tatum.
No idea what order of preference the staff has for EDGEs, they're in on so many.
Really that’s the only one that maybe you show some patience with. With 1 RB the bag take a swing at the big dog. Though I’m convinced Hart could coach me up for a 1000 yard season.
i think you have to take Ka'Apana, because USC is probably gonna go Reggie Bush on Tatum with the enticements.
I'm buckled up and ready to go!!! COMMITMAS, COMMENCE!!!
All of them, give us all of them.
Also, fantastic overview. Thanks for the write-up!
Need to add a little Mayo on there
There is a Darien gap-sized hole in this list.
I have to say, I like your repertoire of gifs, but I find it ironic that not a single one is of Clarence Boddicker himself.
lol, love it.
Can I get an expected date for these commitments? I'm going on vacation.
Hold me, Tom VH.
Really hope we try and wait on Ka’apana until after Tatum visits
Pretty sure that’s a certainty.
I just hope Jordan Marshall comes up while he’s here…
We will basically have the class wrapped up by end of June/early July and can focus on a few big fish and turn our attention to the ‘25 class.
I don’t know if having the number one class in June means much. I think Notre Dame was number one at this time last year and there was someone on here posting about how they do it the right way - then their class lost a few guys and they finished around 12th. Not bad but you need elite coaching to contend for the title if you finish outside the top ten annually - but having the number one class in June just means you probably have the most commits. There’s basically no chance we (or anyone not named Georgia) will finish number one, but it should be a very well rounded top ten class.
I think a class of those names I mentioned, with potential adds of Taylor Tatum, Gatlin Bair, Elias Rudolph, Devon Baxter, Darien Mayo, Aaron Scott, Boo Carter, Tehryon Nichols, Ondre Evans and maybe a name or two we don’t even know of cements this as a top 6-7 class. Commit numbers will be high, but the avg star ranking will also be higher than prior classes.
A big part of the reason why ND's class fell apart is because they had a shitty season, relatively speaking. All the hype from hiring Freeman catapulted their class early. That 'free-falling on his face' routine during the season soured a lot a 'croots... And it wasn't just the crappy play - Freeman looked unsure of himself and in over his head against the like of Marshall.
I believe ND had some decommits during/after their season. That happens when you lose to Marshall and what not.
PSU also was high up early in recruiting but also had alot of decommits after being run all over by Moore Award line, Corum and The Don.
Denarded thank you so much for posting. This was clear, concise, and informative AND written with full words and full names unlike some narcissistic alleged insiders who post here.
getting Denarded is good, getting dinardoed is like IU football trying to explain itself to your average football fan.
The initials keep the info off of search engines. It makes sense for describing fluid situations that could be effected by said information leaking.
Huh, never realized there was a valid reason for doing that. But even if there wasn't, stfu about the free inside info.
preparing to write a lot of Hellos in the next few weeks is what I'll say
Best get cracking on that ChatGTP training, Mr. Drain.
I thought we were doing GlasgowGPT now?
I've been looking for "Hello" every day for the past 3 weeks. Its been tough.
"I've been alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times
I sometimes see you pass outside my door
Hello, is it me you're looking for?"
You are gonna be.... drained.
To further this point, Sam Webb on the latest pod seemed to spill a little and say June was going to be huge for Michigan football in terms of recruiting. These recruits seem like it’s going to happen this month.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the EDGE position fills out. Brian Robison seems like he might be going to UK now (have no idea how this happened after visiting 10 times!) and Mayo is coming down to UM, OSU and Clemson with them resurrecting themselves lately. Would like to have seen Tatum in this class but his connections with USC and recent visit suggest he’s a Trojan. Micah seems like he’s a pretty good back though. Great write up, Denarded.
Is a BBQ at the Big House still on the calendar? If so, I'd guess that date will be in July.
The class looks very good. And, being ranked as highly as it is - is without doubt, a good thing. I do think that when the dust has settled and the signing day comes, Michigan will have a top five class - though, I doubt it will be the #1 class in the country. FWIW, I don't care about the final ranking - I do care about the quality of the class - and, completely trust the staff to identify players who possess both the tangible and intangible qualities to compete and bring continued success to the program.
Go Blue!
Touch The Banner has a list for this weekend's visitors as well (6/9-6/11). Looks NICE
BALLZ!!!!
