Ant Wright Source Says Emoni to AA
Listening to an Ant Wright Spotify live right now and he’s saying a source today told him Emoni is coming to Michigan.
Could be a boss move that works or totally blows up. Tremendous content at the least.
to play at EMU?
This
If I transferred to EMU I'd definitely live in Ann Arbor too.
I mean. He could live by the Brick Dick with an unobstructed view of Deja Vu...
You’re a poet and didn’t even know it
Tell me you haven’t been to ypsi without telling me you haven’t been to ypsi.
I get my water from a giant penis.
Wow. And the people in Flint thought THEY had problems ...
Ant Wrong
This is good. Could have also went with Ain't Wright.
Nicely done, You win the internet today!
Do we even want him?
If he comes here, yes. If he chooses elsewhere, then he’s a bad Apple.
You saying someone who starts their own high school to play on its basketball team might be toxic?
It will be amazing to see the hot takes change on Emoni’s work ethic and character if he comes here
I don't particularly want to be apart of the Emoni circus but if his ethic and character change then the takes probably should too. Kid doesnt have too many fans on this board so I think he would have to show some gained maturity before the takes just change.
I don’t care about content. I would want it to be a sound basketball decision.
If they believe they can make it work, could be huge upside. Both for what he brings to the team and proving Michigan/Juwan as a transfer portal destination for five stars who have bad freshman years.
Obviously a risk but I think it’s one they can afford to take.
Juwan Howard was on the radar of NBA teams. He knows how to coach. Period. If he wants Bates he will get him coached up. Not concerned about a potential lottery pick being added to what could be a very good roster.
Absolutely. Gotta trust Juwan knows what he’s doing. I don’t think he would jeopardize team culture for talent.
We are last chance U?
This would be high risk, high reward. If he can buy in, put in the work, and take coaching then this could pay off, but I have my doubts. If Juwan can take Emoni right now and turn him into a draftable piece, than that would be huge coaching win for Juwan.
We need shooting and Emoni could provide that
He's only a theoretical shooter. Just because he has a smooth shot does not make him a good shooter.
He’s a smooth operator
Coast to coast?
Or just LA to Chicago?
See: Houston, Caleb
We need shooting that actually goes into the basket
Do we though?
Scooter, you never answered my chemistry question, plus I want to know about where and what you are farming, all your hands-on experience, etc. would be good to know
I'm sorry! I don't know how to track responses so if time goes by I just miss things all the time. I don't do any farming, but I listen to a lot of them through connections with other chemists and a couple of agricultural science teachers I know.
What was your chemistry question?
you had a comment that came in the form of a reply to me in a thread about farming. i think it was last week. i had piped up about how we do it organically. your comment was along the lines of: this is the (generic restaurant) take on farming and your chemistry is wrong. i wasn't sure that reply was for me or not, especially since i'm thinking our chemistry is about as good as it can possibly be to raise food. thus, i ask now for clarification. again, it might not have been for me in which case, no need to explain, not that you're somehow obligated to even if it was for me.
cheers.
I'm sure if it was a restaurant I hate that it was Panera. They're awful. They run anti-chemistry ads all the time.
I don't think that applies to you. I'm a big fan of farming including the Michael Pollan style ones. I think I was saying you don't have to disparage the other type regardless of which one you're doing. There's a lot of good that comes out of traditional farming and I think both are important (I would definitely slant toward traditional, but I like the practice of farming with the components on your farm only).
just did a quick search of michael pollan. i think he and i would get along quite well. you might also take a look at joel salatin, that is probably as close to what we do as you might find.
Uh oh. Starting to name drop some permaculture idols. Do you listen to Jack Spirko at all. Seems like someone you could probably dig a little.
I'll admit to not being crazy about the move but Howard has dealt with bigger egos at the pro level and if he things he can get Bates to buy in that's a big gain for the team on the court offensively assuming Bates can stay healthy.
It could also (perhaps) explain the move away from Shannon if NIL money comes into effect as I have to assume Bates ain't cheap.
According to Hunter Dickinson's IG (as I saw relayed by Dylan Burkhardt) the issue was TT's coach refusing to let Shannon take a summer course that he needed to transfer.
Wow
Reminds me of someone who took a new job because his old one was ending. The hiring manager would not let him stay with the previous company two more weeks to reach some pension level.
Bill Frieder! A Michigan man will coach a Michigan team!
Yeah, I saw that a minute ago and that makes more sense as well. And again is why I pushed back against the idea that NIL was this major hurdle for Shannon.
TT's coach refusing to PAY FOR Shannon take a summer course.
I'm pretty sure he can't prevent him from taking a class on his own dime.
I mean he dealt with LeBron and he has the biggest ego in all of sports. I think Juwan will be fine.
Emoni is probably cheaper now than he was a year ago. 40% off!
I am very skeptical of this given that Llewellyn supposedly just committed. Seems unlikely.
Edit: To be clear, I was/am skeptical of the report, not whether it would be a good idea (although there seems to be some possibility). Could be risky but I would not question JH's judgment and from a talent perspective, it's certainly interesting.
It has looked like they want to bring in two transfers. Shannon to Illinois soooo
More likely if there are others about to leave
Let’s not overthink this…6’9” guys who can dribble and shoot like he can, don’t grow on trees. As I said in the other thread I think he was humbled last season, might be the perfect situation for him.
I like your attitude. And I believe in redemption. If he does land in A2 it's because Howard believes redemption is possible in Bates.
Nothing to do with how it would fit- can he play immediately or have to sit out?
You heard of the transfer rule? You know, you get to do it once without sitting out.
