11w sure ain't worried about Michigan

Submitted by Swayze Howell Sheen on September 20th, 2020 at 12:44 PM

Just including results from a poll over at 11w about the biggest threads to OSU's championship drive:

As you can see, Michigan barely registers; it's just COVID and PSU. Maybe that's just where we are these days, but it sure would be nice to raise the threat level with an upset this year.

That said, I just heard a rumor: One UM player cut this graphic out and pasted it onto his locker, so he could see it each day as added motivation. He rises earlier than the others, trains harder than the others, and has been getting better faster than people thought possible. His name, you might have heard: Joe Milton. And he has one thing on his mind: Beating those damn Bucks.

Why would they be...have you seen the last few OSU/UM games?  Why would they think this year is any different?  I can't say I do either.

Honestly unsure how we got to this point with Penn State hype. It’s an article of faith in CFB circles that they’re on a better track than Michigan despite Michigan recruiting better and beating them more than half the time under Franklin. They sometimes get to 11 wins... by playing Southwest Missouri State in an NY6 bowl. They do have a B1G title... from a lucky year in which Michigan beat the bejesus out of them. I guess what I’m saying is this: Frames Janklin

OSU has elevated to another world since Urban Meyer took over, and now Ryan Day is pushing the envelope further.  Our improvements are baby steps.  Theirs are long jumps.

The entire world believes James Franklin has been a better coach at PSU than Harbaugh has been at Michigan. Its not true but since coming to Michigan he has gone from a pretty much liked guy to enemy number 1 outside our fanbase. Harbaugh at Stanford was mr lovable. Anyways PSU is one flukey OSU win and us a flukey loss from being completely different. Harbaugh has taken down MSU then Notre Dame and now its time to move ahead PSU. That would really be something. But also we play the three best teams in the big ten every year which PSU and OSU do not. Skipping Wisconsin is a huge advantage.

osu arrogance? Dude...a player from ohio could walk into the locker and pin it on the board himself and flip us the bird laughing and I'm still certain we would have a low low low chance of winning.  You are assuming that the reason we can't win is because of motivation.  The guys are motivated 100% but like a dog that gets scolded and shunned it is broken mentally. We are broken mentally and don't have near the talent they do.  FFS look at their WR corps. We have 1-3 guys we know are good and are hoping the rest will be. They have like 10-12 guys I am fairly certain WILL be on NFL rosters within the next 3 years and they are loading up more!

Let's be honest: in assessing your title chances, would you feel the most threatened about a team you've beaten in 17 of the last 19 matchups (Or is it 18 of the last 20? Sadly, I've lost track)?

Why would they? Why would anyone not heavily invested in Michigan spend a second thinking they're the likeliest road block for Ohio State? What have you seen in the last 15-20 years to make you think that, if you do? Of course Ohio State fans would be more worried about Penn State, Penn State has beaten them/won a Big 10 title within the last 15 years.

I hope the young fellas are working hard, but the only way to change the perception of Michigan is to do it on the field.

This post is just stupid.

  • It's based on a rivals message board.
  • The OP's only intent is to sensationalize and regurgitate crap we already know.
  • Contains unfounded rumors and takes that are bullshit.

Can't believe there's a post on the board that contains 11 Warriors in the title--Unbelievable.

I assure you during coopers 2-10-1 run vs michigan you would feel the same way @ home vs osu with a possible national championship contender,no?

psu always plays OSU tough @ crappy valley. fields is a elite QB, heisman contender on a team with a loaded roster and a young gun offensive minded coach. That's a deadly combination.plus the staff and the team are still pissed they lost to Clemson.

osu has 40 top 100 players to Michigan's 12. which means they have 10 Game changers on the roster to Michigan's 3? 2020/21 classes Osu 17 top 100 to Harbaughs 3.that's just not a good effort for a national brand. I don't think Harbaugh likes recruiting at all. Your 2018 class had 0. Stars do matter with volumne like that.

Not trying to be an ass about it, but that looks like very average effort and no planning. All on Harbaugh. I gurantee Bama,Oklahoma,Clemson,LSU and OSU's staffs talk about recruiting strategy everyday. 345 days a year.?

Most people here don’t want to hear this, but their football team respects Michigan...they respect the rivalry.  That’s why they beat us.

if you recall the revenge tour, there was a lot of bravado coming from our team.  What Michigan was going to do to OSU. “Who’s got it better than us?”   That’s more bravado bullshit.   You would never hear that shit from Tressel, Meyer or Day.  You wouldn’t hear it from Bo, Mo, Carr or Hoke.

OSU doesn’t need that shit.  They respect us, they prepare for us, and they never say they are better than us.  They never publicly say they are better than anyone. They act like they have been there.

Their fans are right though.  They haven’t seen one thing from Michigan that gives them fear.  Get mad at them all want.  They aren’t wrong.  On this page, they are called cooler poopers and hillbillies.  So why are you people getting offended by this poll (it isn’t a pole, people)?

Beat them first, then you can brag...but your team should always stay humble.

huh?

first off there is a difference between having respect for the rivalry and THE game versus having respect for the University and it's fans.  I know a LOT of ohio fans who absolutely HATE us and I mean HATE and have no respect for the school and say we are elitist, arrogant pricks but when it comes to the game they speak in reverence and never taunt or gloat.

Why would they be. Our roster is full of turnover. Their roster is reloading and returns way more key pieces.
Maybe this is the year we can catch them overlooking us, because the gap should be larger between us this season than at any time since Rich Rod was here.

Why in god's name would they be worried?  Penn State actually beats them every now and then.

Are you every worried when we play Rutgers?  Because the lopsided score has been pretty similar the last 2 years.

2014: 11w sure ain't worried about Va Tech

2015: 11w sure ain't worried about MSU

2016: 11w sure ain't worried about Penn St

2017: 11w sure ain't worried about Iowa

2018: 11w sure ain't worried about Purdue

Truth is 11w never knows who to worry about since their team can under perform against anybody, well expect one team ;(

Great for us we know exactly which team to worry about

I wouldn't be worried either if i were OSU.  Oh well.  Michigan is what Michigan is.  I'll still watch and love the team,  but man, it sucks knowing the best they'll ever be consistently is 9-3 maybe 10-2.
