Michigan #16 in Kenpom as of this Moment
It's definitely being updated in real time, because I checked this morning and we were 30-something, then 17th about an hour after the game, and now 16th.
Not that this matters a ton, other than for perception, but we have GOT to be ranked in both polls come Monday, right? 2-1 with a win over #4, and a 1-point loss to the #5 team that was, let's be honest, an epic butt-pounding, right?

We'll be ranked, probably 21 or 22. We were 31 last week.

Another stunning fact: Michigan is #29 in RPI, MSU is #30. And there isn't much separating the resumes either. I'm not sure why Michigan is viewed as an 8/9 seed and MSU a 2/3 right now. MSU has wins over two tournament teams, UNC (neutral) and ND at home. Michigan has wins over UCLA, Texas (road) and MSU (road).

And should have been UCLA, Texas, MSU, Purdue and OSU

we did.

No way are we still an 8/9 seed. Today's win is a game-changer.

At All. Great win. Go Blue.

It would be interesting to see where the Kenpom number would be.
January 13th, 2018 at 5:59 PM ^
Honestly that wouldn't change much KenPom-wise since it's on a per-possession basis. If we got those calls late and got a 1 or 2 point win the impact would be negligible on KenPom.

Might have been one or two places higher on KP but that's it. As it was, Michigan moved up three spots after the Purdue game by virtue of beating the KP spread (it was Purdue by 2) and putting forth a solid defensive effort against a highly-rated Purdue offense.

Great win, and like the move up on the Kenpom board, but Michigan has a quick turnaround game Monday night at home against Maryland. Maryland has won 5 of the last 6 in the series.

In SOS news:
-Texas (11-5) is currently beating OKSU on the road, on ESPNews
-UNC (13-4) is tied with ND in the first half, on ESPN.
-LSU (11-4) hosts Bama this evening.
-UCLA (13-4) hosts Colorado.
Hopefully these teams can sweep today and give us a small boost.
EDIT: Texas absolutely choked that away. They had a 12-point lead midway through the second half. Ugh.

Outperforming expectations by 20 points will do that.

Michigan can move up with more performances like yesterday.

Purdue hit almost 60% of their threes and they were lucky to beat us. Against MSU, I think I read somewhere that we made one three-pointer in the second half, yet we still won by 10 points. This is a well-rounded team right now and if we get hot in March, we can hang with anyone.
