Drake Harris transferring for 5th year
Not a surprise given his injury plagued up and down career. I hope he lands somewhere he can get the playing time he wants.
Seemed like a quality young man. His note below:
I want to take this opportunity to first and foremost thank everyone who has believed in me up until this point. My journey has had many bumps in the road and the cards I️ have been dealt were not particularly ideal. However, the end is far from near. -To Coach Hoke, thank you for giving a young boy his dream of playing at The University of Michigan. To Coach Harbaugh, thank you for helping me expound my athletic abilities and mold me into the athlete that I️ am today. To my teammates, friends, family, and fans, you never gave up on me and always allowed me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. If I️t wasn’t for you all, I️ wouldn’t be where I️ am today. Without further notice, I️ will be continuing my football career elsewhere for my 5th year season. I️ will forever cherish my memories in the Big House and I️ will never forget the lessons and qualities that made me a Michigan man. Forever and always, GO BLUE!

That's fantastic news! Nice to have the space opening up for them, and perhaps to increase the size of the recruiting class as well.
Also love that these guys keep leaving with UMich degrees(!). Really sets them up for life.

Sounds good to me. We definitely need safety depth, and any OT help is welcomed. Open competition at both spots this off season!

I always wonder why Drake never got to showcase his full skillset when healthy but good luck to him next season elsewhere

I don't think they got it wrong. They don't rate players based on if they will stay healthy.

Look at film from his junior year of high school. He required some projection (with filling out to do, etc.) but everything pointed to a very high ceiling.

I wish we could’ve seen what he could have done this season. It obviously didn’t help to start out at CB but I swear he was still better than half the WRs we rolled out this season yet he didn’t see the field until the OSU game. Not sure what was going on behind the scenes . He’s a good kid and I wish him the best .

of games, practices and conditioning? That's a lot to overcome without falling behind your competitors. I hope he's able to reach his potential next season.

But other than Charles Rogers best high school wide receiver ever in state of Michigan. Watched him single handed beat OLSM, with 2-3 plays in that game that were incredible. Hope him and Wilton go play together somewhere. Go blue!

I don't want to see any of our transfers at the Big House on the other side of the field next season!

I don't think I want to see anyone be exiled in Kalamazoo for 9 months.

What happened to rumors of him playing basketball at Michigan instead?

Hope he finds success wherever he lands.

Anyone got them scholly numbers on hand after this? Seems like we thought 2018 class would be much smaller than it may end up being. I remember some said 16-20.

I managed to do a Master's in a year but was also able to count some coursework completed during undergrad towards my graduate degree - so a 30 credit requirement became something like 18 additional credits required. This was all done at Michigan so that made it easier to transfer credits...I doubt it would have happened if I moved to another school.
That being said - there's been some influx of graduate programs in recent years which are meant to be completed in a year - I think many schools have recognized that potential students are unwilling or unable to delay earning income for 2+ years. I imagine that presents some possible options for grad transfers which might not have existed 5-10 years ago.

Pretty disappointing career here, I'm sure more for him than for fans. Hope he can find success.

What happened to Bunting? He did a reasonable imitation of Jake Butt against FSU last year. I was hoping that could continue. Is it becasue 50% of our roster is composed of TE's?

Would love to see him drive the lane as an opposing player tries to draw the charge.
And have a body bag ready.
