It's a reply to Dantonio's boast that MSU was "selling results" while other programs were "selling hope."
February 5th, 2016 at 3:04 PM ^
With "other programs" clearly meaning Michigan...
February 5th, 2016 at 3:22 PM ^
Are there any "other programs" in their eyes besides the hated rival?!

Read again but use a period at the end of the title.

People always forget that.
Hart's "Little Brother" dig at MSU was in part a response to that unprovoked attack from Dantonio earlier that season. The rest of the Michigan team did a little "moment of silence" counter-dig at MSU after the game too.

Isn't he just giving props to Partridge?
N/M, I see he is counter punching Mike Dantoni in the face.

We went 10-3 and they were lucky to win that game.
February 5th, 2016 at 3:21 PM ^
or else I'm sure you'd retract your "lucky" comment.
/S
They say they outgained us the whole day, and that far from a lucky break, on that last play Harbaugh made a huge error not doing max protect, and State did an all out blitz with no returner (which Harbaugh didn't notice). Therefore, Dantonio outcoached Harbaugh on that play, and won the game--no luck involved.
February 5th, 2016 at 3:28 PM ^
Right, because not having a returner back is smart. It's not the same as "giving up" at all...

February 5th, 2016 at 5:01 PM ^
Were they? If you field it, you can win by either returning for a TD or an insanely long Hail Mary. I'm willing to bet those options together are more likely than a TD punt block.
February 5th, 2016 at 5:53 PM ^
While I agree a TD block return was unlikely, any block most likely gives them a chance for a field goal. So it wasn't a return/Hail Mary versus a TD punt block. It's a return/Hail Mary versus a punt block.
But why I am writing about this? Signing day was my 12th step! I'm moving on.
February 5th, 2016 at 5:11 PM ^
State wins at the end, arguably due to a coaching blunder = it's a WIN!
Michigan wins at the end, arguably due to a coaching blunder = INVALID!
Sparty logic.

but they still lose if we don't make two colossal unforced errors by not catching the snap and then not falling on the ball.
February 5th, 2016 at 7:54 PM ^
Like Millen said, at that point in the season they were only giving Ruddock half the field to read. Harbaugh had a basic offensive plan against MSU and it was still enough offense to win the game. If they would have faced end of the season Ruddock, they would have gotten rolled. As far as that punt is concerned, if you send half of your team through the longsnapper at the exact second the ball is snapped, you should be in position to block the punt.

Quoting Millen?
February 5th, 2016 at 3:53 PM ^
Is 10 wins something to be proud of? Especially when we lost to both rivals?
The fact is MSU had a better record than us, beat us, and went to the CFP. Until we beat them or OSU, I won't consider any season a success.
I guess I'm just over the cockiness or shit talking to rivals (especially coming from our staff). You're 0-1 Jay. Beat them once before talking shit. Celebrating Signing Day and then getting beat on the field is exactly what they poke fun at us for doing.
February 5th, 2016 at 4:06 PM ^
February 5th, 2016 at 4:16 PM ^
Also they didn't say anything about being better than us just that we were selling hope. That's no longer true as we had a very successful season.
February 5th, 2016 at 10:19 PM ^
I wonder if all of this is about the Onwenu/Hill recruitments etc. and the rumors that Sparty was negative recruiting Michigan like crazy.
This would be Jay's way of saying F U to Sparty coaches.
February 5th, 2016 at 4:34 PM ^
I'm not sure stating three facts about them is blowing them, but you probably also won't like this too much either: they have won 11 games the last 5 out of 6 years, not just 10.
I don't really care about celebrating any number of wins though. We won't get a chance to play for a championship until we beat MSU, OSU, or both. We have a really embarrassing record against our rivals the last 10 or so years, lost to both last year, and now Jay wants to subtweet about recruiting. It's just dumb IMO.

When did I deny that? That didn't happen. Harbaugh has absolutely made a tremendous impact. I still don't think we should be bragging about recruiting, especially when it's directed at a team that has owned us on the field despite not recruiting as well.
February 6th, 2016 at 7:53 AM ^
have been the best possible choice for you.
February 5th, 2016 at 4:14 PM ^
They were references recruiting with the hope comment and who cares what they think about Jay's comment. I just like that this staff doesn't take shit and doesn't back down when the program is being attacked. I think it'll feed the players who are thinking "these coaches stand up for us." I'd much rather have a guy who promised Michigan would win in Columbus than a guy who apologized to Dantonio for disrespekting him by bothering to show up.
February 5th, 2016 at 4:21 PM ^
Dantanio made a strong point that Sparty is selling results vs M selling hope. Based on the quality of recruiting classes, it looks like selling hope did better than his selling results.

Also, I am getting really sick of Dantonio spouting off about his great team. The Cotton Bowl result aside, in Sparty's 2 signature B1G East wins (M & OSU) his team led for a total of 0 minutes. Zero. Oh, what dominance.
I can't wait until 29-Oct to see them pounded into submission.
