Snapping is important - ask Alabama
January 22nd, 2024 at 10:09 AM ^
He's a long snapper, not a center. But yes, snapping is important.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:09 AM ^
To be fair, our long snapping caused of 4 points in that game.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:17 AM ^
As a long snapper, we'll know for sure this was a successful addition if we don't hear his name spoken again until senior day.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:36 AM ^
well at least 1, but perhaps also the FG (not so clear cut to me).
to be equally fair William Wagner was pretty awesome all season and last season before he got hurt. And - there were numerous times including the Washington game in the national title where he had snapped a beautiful ball and was one of the first guys down on coverage.

OSU: "We've paid $30 million to buy the best players in the portal this year. We need to win now!"
UM: "We got a long snapper from the FCS. We're playing the long game..."

When your opponent zigs, you zag.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:13 AM ^
And when I think a zag's coming? That's when I zog.
January 22nd, 2024 at 10:50 AM ^
I at least hope we overpaid.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:18 AM ^
I wonder what will happen if they start to not get all the money...promises are nice, cash is better
January 22nd, 2024 at 9:27 AM ^
Take notice, Columbus. We're not screwing around.
Seriously, good luck to Dan.

Beating OSU in the toilet bowl next year with their $35m incoming transfer class would be so epic.
January 22nd, 2024 at 10:21 AM ^
At this rate OSU’s portal class is gonna hit $100 million by the end of spring practice.
January 22nd, 2024 at 9:34 AM ^
BOOM!!!
January 22nd, 2024 at 9:37 AM ^
Welcome! A phrase I never want to hear again unless it is an opposing team; 'trouble with the snap'.
January 22nd, 2024 at 9:46 AM ^
Unleash the money cannon!
January 22nd, 2024 at 9:53 AM ^
Welcome and Go Blue!

This is random enough that I have to believe he's awesome; otherwise why would he even be on the staff's radar?
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:30 AM ^
It's possible he was under the radar in HS coming from Massachusetts. More likely, he just wanted to transfer for academic/environmental reasons.
Michigan would take nearly anyone as a walk on who played as a Freshman at reasonable collegiate level. Most long snappers are walk ons who couldn't gain enough size to play OL or have TE size but not the athleticism. It's zero risk and only upside to take one who played at Holy Cross. I bet Michigan spent all of 5 minutes evaluating film and it was as simple as "if you get admitted, we would love to have you walk on." I hope I'm wrong and there was something that really popped.

Man we’re killing it in the portal 😏
January 22nd, 2024 at 10:09 AM ^
Nice to know that the staff is still working hard even with with Jim interviewing...
January 22nd, 2024 at 10:52 AM ^
I’m glad my NIL contribution was enough for this. Your welcome.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:00 AM ^
No way a highly touted LS comes here if JH is leaving. Suck it ryan.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:00 AM ^
Checkmate, Ohio State!
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:18 AM ^
C'mon. Are you sure this is not a fake, AI generated commitment?
Dan Rosenberg from Holy Cross?
I will be suspicious if our next commitment from the portal is Hymie Schwartz from Loyola!

Rumor is the coaching staff are high on that Shlomo Cohen kid from BYU

Years ago i was an exchange student in south America. I get there, first day for dinner they serve borscht, I'm like, whatever, lots of people serve borscht. Couple of days later, its Friday, and they get a loaf of bread for dinner that resembles challah. I've got as jewy a name as they come, so I figure, notwithstanding that I can't speak really their language and they cant really speak mine, we need to have a conversation, they obviously think I need special Jew food but they don't need to worry about me, I'm happy with bacon.
Conversation goes something like this:
"Is OK, no need jew food"
"Oh no, we jew too!"
"You jew?!" (points at host family's son) "His name Christian!"
"Yes! No one know!"
January 22nd, 2024 at 3:09 PM ^
Haywood Jablowme is a kickass gunner from Boise State. Are we looking to also upgrade our kick return coverage?
January 22nd, 2024 at 2:07 PM ^
FYI, Rosenberg is not necessarily a Jewish name. Alfred Rosenberg was one of Hitler's most notorious henchmen, in charge of the occupation of the Eastern European countries. He was charged as a war criminal, tried and convicted at Nuremberg, and executed in 1946.
That said, I suspect that Dan Rosenberg is probably Jewish. Shalom.

Iceberg, Goldberg, it’s all the same.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:19 AM ^
Now go find a few tall wide outs
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:22 AM ^
TAKE THAT OSU SUPER RECRUITS!
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:27 AM ^
The obligatory "may we never hear his name mentioned again" applies.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:34 AM ^
You never know when you might need a long snapper to catch a pass. Just ask Jareth Glanda (2011 Sugar Bowl)
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:38 AM ^
welcome aboard!
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:39 AM ^
Can he coach basketball?
*ducks*
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:46 AM ^
This is the most Jim Harbaugh portal guy I can think of. 100% chance he's staying based on this news.
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:46 AM ^
Before the B1G Championshp, met several of Wagner's family members at a bar across the street. Told them that I'm rooting for him, but that I hope I never notice his performance. During the Rose Bowl, my son and I looked at each other and said "Wagner!"
January 22nd, 2024 at 11:57 AM ^
I remember the angst and gnashing of teeth in the past when people would compare our stars to thars in SEC and OSU teams. Then Michigan beat OSU three in a row and just won a national championship. And we can appreciate the coaches landing a player who fits our needs.
Here's to OSU spending all the money in the world to stand on third base.
January 22nd, 2024 at 1:36 PM ^
William Wagner is out of eligibility, and so may Greg Tarr. Even if GT has another year, we need two LS. Witness WW getting hurt during 2022 and GT had to fill in.
January 22nd, 2024 at 3:59 PM ^
Who needs million dollar players when you can get an FCS long snapper? The genius of The Harbs!
