He's a 2025, when they're still putting together the 2023 class, but he's also an early top-50ish cornerback who could be the anchor of a star-studded class, provided Michigan can hold onto a national prospect from South Florida for two years and change. They're already well down the trail; Ewald was on campus for the win over Penn State, and apparently it wasn't his first trip here. He also claims a 4.0 GPA.
This is a big-time recruit from a big-time school. The 13-0 Lions won the FHSAA 1M state championship in a blowout last week and are set to play Bishop Gorman tomorrow for a claim on the best high school team in America. 247 has him their 75th overall for 2025 and #6 CB. On3 has him a 90 (4-star) but not ranked yet. Rivals has him their #23 player overall.
His Hudl page is worth checking out, given those sophomore highlights include a who's who of wide receivers who'll be on SEC rosters next year.
You can also wait a couple of years.

2025! I’m to old for this shit.

Okay, I'll wait, but not patiently. In a few months I'm gonna start tapping my foot.

2025?
That's not a real year!

It's a long ways away but a nice pickup at a key position. Going to be a battle keeping him (as is true for any high level recruit) but UM is in good position.

Is he the first in his class? If he brings others with him, great, but it's a loooong way off.

Isn't there a song that goes "In the year 2025 ..."
Oh, wait ... I'm 500 years too early.
Welcome aboard, young man!

So, do we currently have the top recruiting class of 2025? Take that, $EC. Up yours, Blackbeard.

To me, this is a sign that Santa has, indeed, arrived to Ann Arbor. No way an elite 2025 kid from Florida powerhouse program with no known prior ties considers committing unless we have some plausible pathway to a competitive NIL program that we are pitching or expect to be pitching by then.

Great to see. I must admit that I teared up a bit when I read "13-0 Lions".

Im not getting excited yet, waaayyy to early for a commitment to be a COMMITMENT

Hope to live long enough to see him thru his JR year at UM.

Give Clink a raise. Give Minter a raise. Keep them here for years.

Early and like you said holding onto a guy from Florida for so long will be tough, but a blue chip commit is always good.

Unfortunately, by the time '25 rolls around we will have to give him $5,000,000 too sign on the dotted line.

This is exciting news. However, I feel like the Mgoblog staff could save themselves a lot of work and aggravation by not reporting on these 2024 & 2025 verbal commitments just yet.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, verbal commitments a year or two ahead are pretty worthless. In fact, even 2023 verbal commitments are tenuous at best.
Case in point: the #1 overall 2024 high school player, a stud QB, just decommitted from the Buckeyes. (Yes!!!) I guess he does now get to be on the bottom scroll on the TV screen during six bowl game broadcasts today.
Thanks for the article and keep up the good work! Greatly appreciated. And, hopefully, not a waste of time.
